Comprehensive monitoring boosts security, yet incident management features need expansion
Fortinet FortiSIEM should broaden its remediation part to include more features for incident management. Currently, to manage repetitive incidents or for remediation, I need to use a separate software called FortiSOAR. Additionally, the search functionality in FortiAI should be improved to provide more precise results, making it easier for me to understand what actions need to be taken.

AI-driven monitoring has improved real-time threat detection but still needs better automation
I could see some workflows, but I am unable to do automated workflows. For example, some repetitive jobs or repetitive tasks I am doing, but I am trying to have less manual intervention on the front. I am raising some issues that should be resolvable. The SentinelOne team has told me that this can be resolved within a couple of months, but they are saying that it is in future for enhancement and it may take some time. So far, the numbers are great. Regarding disadvantages or areas for improvement, I could say that 35 percent of my manual effort can be detected since I implemented it very recently. I could be able to say my current data talks about only 35 percent, and it may improve further, as I am expecting. But I can only comment based on my alerts and events. The adoption rate will be less compared to other products, as this can be a time-taken process because all my data needs to be offloaded and the system needs to understand my existing alerts, logs, and other things. This will take some more time, probably another month. Another area for improvement is that the product is somewhat expensive. Pricing could be improved as well.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution has an all-in-one approach, where we buy one product and everything our customer needs is included, without additional licenses for more functionality, and any adjustments are done very quickly and easily."
"It works well with medium to large-scale enterprises."
"The primary thing I use it for is monitoring IPS because we have 12 or 14 Cisco IPS devices, and the Cisco solution for monitoring that many IPS devices is hokey at best, aside from it being expensive."
"The pricing is very, very affordable; for the value you get, I think it’s about the cheapest solution on the market."
"Analytics is the most valuable feature, and the business service summaries in the dashboards and the correlations for the SIEM are also valuable features."
"I like the various options, including the option for CMDB and the easier access to create rules, playbooks, or use cases. It's also easier to use for creating dashboards and reports."
"Technical support is helpful."
"It gives greater visibility via the dashboards into the real-time status of the network and also provides specific alerts and performance monitoring."
"After using SentinelOne Singularity AI SIEM, it has reduced our incident response time by forty to fifty percent compared to other tools."
"Overall, I would assess the overall security posture after implementing SentinelOne Singularity AI SIEM as significantly better."
"When they face attacks such as ransomware and are dissatisfied with their existing solutions, they switch to SentinelOne Singularity AI SIEM, which is quite good in detecting unknown threats, cleaning the system, and handling ransomware."
"AI-driven capabilities will give me real-time detection and will protect my autonomous AI interruption."

Cons

"In the CMDB configuration monitoring, if there is a configuration on the wrong side of the network or there are changes that result in harm to our IT infrastructure, the solution should immediately fix it."
"The way that upgrades are handled could be a bit cleaner."
"Fortinet FortiSIEM should broaden its remediation part to include more features for incident management. Currently, to manage repetitive incidents or for remediation, I need to use a separate software called FortiSOAR."
"FortiSIEM could be better integrated with other vendors."
"The performance can be improved. Sometimes it takes a long time to fetch data."
"The backup and recovery process for this solution needs improvement."
"The initial setup with Fortinet FortiSIEM Accelops was not easy. We had faced a few problems, but I think Fortinet should give more training courses for their resellers."
"The interface needs some improvements because it's a bit cumbersome when you're trying to view items. It takes some time to get used to. Additionally, sometimes the scrolling does not work."
"In AI SIEM, the areas that have room for improvement are the parsers for third-party integrated data or for third-party data sources that are not native integrations, which could be made a bit easier."
"It is quite good, but the only downside is that it is costly."
"SentinelOne Singularity AI SIEM has some performance and reliability issues that need improvement."
"Another area for improvement is that the product is somewhat expensive. Pricing could be improved as well."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The tool is really expensive. For what the tool does for our team, the price is fair."
"Manageable, however would be better as pay as you go versus CapEX."
"Fortinet FortiSIEM is not an expensive solution."
"Its price can be better. We are Fortinet partners, so we can get discounts, but its price can be an issue at the beginning for others. There is a licensing scheme for every case. There are three licensing schemes that we can choose from."
"Fortinet FortiSIEM is very cost-efficient compared to other SIEM solutions."
"There are additional features that cost more than the standard licensing fees."
"Fortinet's products are not expensive, it is less than the competition."
"We bought the perpetual license, so we own the product, but there is a three-year support renewal fee for that."
