Simple to get started with and offers integration features in multiple programming languages
The product provides integration features in multiple languages, such as Python, JavaScript, Golang, and all other languages. Google Firebase has documentation, which might seem a bit confusing, but one with decent knowledge can easily explore and get started with Firebase quickly. Before jumping into any cloud infrastructure, the tool should analyze how much it would cost to run the database. Google Firebase provides a certain number of reads and writes per day, which is approximately 40,000 reads and writes. If there are more than 200 to 300 active users per day, there will be plenty of reads and writes to the database. In such a case, one can't use Google Firebase and has to upgrade to Spark, which is where it is based on usage. The tool is fairly simple to get started with. Utilize all the features can get very complicated. One must be a pretty good developer who has a lot of experience to be able to utilize the best features. It gets really complicated over time. The basic functionality and basic usage are easy to use and easy to get started. There are plenty of deprecated versions, and frequently upgrading them causes inconvenience. I rate the tool a nine out of ten.

Promotes clear, logical structures preventing impractical configurations and offers seamless integration
The only thing is regarding the management of multi-cloud environments. That's not really possible. So basically, it's wonderful if you manage Microsoft clearly and if you manage Microsoft Azure, but if you need to consume external services and have a global overview of all your consumption, it's not the case. Google, for instance, has tools that help you manage multiple environments, which makes sense because Google is really the cloud provider. So that's why they need to be compliant with the others. But for sure, Microsoft's approach is different, and it's wonderful when you're one hundred percent on Azure. But if you'd like to have something more of a multi-cloud strategy, that's a bit of a gap where they could improve.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most beautiful feature of Google Firebase is that it gives you a lot of functionalities out of the box, without you having to develop or having to complete a solution. For example, identity management is integrated, and security is out of the box, particularly security for the user and the ability of each user to see his data. I also like that Google Firebase has a really good performance and is comparable to MongoDB. It's on the same level, and sometimes, it's on an even higher level than MongoDB. Other functions that Google Firebase has that I find valuable include information dissemination, mail automation, and SMS, available out of the box. Another valuable feature of the solution is that it allows you to develop some functionalities on the server side, so you can write JavaScript functions on the server side and use those functions quite easily. Google Firebase gives you almost a full backend environment out of the box without you having to do any deployments or a lot of administration because all administration is given out of the box."
"I love Firebase's notifications, crash analytics, and bug tracking. It gives you detailed reporting about app usage and users."
"Google Firebase supports all types of authentication."
"The authentication features have made things a lot easier for our organization. About five years ago, developers had to create authentication systems from scratch. Now, services like Google Firebase provide secure and accurate authentication solutions. We can implement authentication quickly by following their documentation."
"The main feature for us is that the tools are all in one place and that you don't need to bother with the backend system and the infrastructure."
"The solution is stable."
"If you are selling an app with extensive Firebase use, costs may go up."
"The most valuable feature I like is about the realtime. Updates are also very fast."
"It's very easy to build a new service and get it into production."
"Azure offers broad compatibility with both structured and unstructured data. For example, we use PostgreSQL for storing Azure's official data and manage various types of data, including tabular and image data, accommodating the storage of all data types we handle. So, in many ways, Azure simplified the data storage and management needs."
"It is easy to use. It is also stable."
"Microsoft Azure is built for scalability."
"Active Directory is a good feature. The infrastructure features that Azure provides are also good."
"We find that it is easy to integrate with other Microsoft technologies such as Microsoft Office."
"Kubernetes service and API management are the most valuable."
"I think the most useful feature has been the remote desktop. It has been very helpful when customers have old applications that are not architected to run remotely."

Cons

"I would like to see faster data migration and some support for other languages in the next release."
"Google Firebase could improve the ability to create our own reports, other than what's available on the dashboard. For example, if we want to customize the report or export the data, this is a large task."
"One of the challenges I was facing when I was using it was the library called Google Dialogflow which allows you to connect your chatbot with an intent. So there is so much adding when you are trying to connect it with your service because you have to do a lot of repetition writing a new intent, putting it step by set so it is good to escape. I believe it should be flexible and dedicate the intents based on the relating and to write a lesser code when doing that."
"What I hate most about Google Firebase is that it has many different versions and releases new ones frequently."
"The product is complicated for beginners to understand."
"The exploration of the functions within Firebase could be improved."
"The solution could improve by providing an improved SDK tool and automatic indexing for databases."
"The only thing that I won't do on Firebase is the hosting side of things for a progressive web app because it feels like you actually still need to download the app first before you can actually get into the functionality of the app."
"Because it has a lot of features, a person just coming into Microsoft Azure might feel that it is a bit complex."
"They should create integrations with more platforms."
"It would be beneficial if Microsoft could enhance the free version to allow for more exploration and development. That's my only suggestion regarding Azure."
"Compared with other cloud solution providers, Microsoft is not good at local support."
"The alerts management should be improved. Alerts management is very complicated to configure. You have to go through a lot of tests and config action groups to set up those things. It is very complicated, and it can be simplified."
"The solution could improve by having more security features around my data and the platform."
"Navigating the frequent changes in the interface has been a challenge, requiring effort to keep up with updates. Options or features that were once located in one window may unexpectedly move to another, making it hard to stay current with the changes."
"Microsoft Azure can improve by adding more features for virtual machines, such as tier virtual machines."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The more the number of reads and writes, the more one gets charged."
"Google Firebase’s pricing needs improvement."
"The price of Google Firebase is very good."
"We are using the free version of Google Firebase."
"It is an expensive tool."
"The pricing plans indicate it can get very expensive."
"The price is perfect and very clearly defined. The price during the trial setup is free and then you move to a paid service."
"I rate Google Firebase a seven or eight out of ten for pricing."
"The license is on a monthly basis."
"Microsoft Azure is expensive."
"The solution does require a license."
"Its costing can be improved. Its licensing is monthly. In addition to the standard license fee, there is a transactional cost."
"The price of Microsoft Azure is reasonable."
"The tool is cheap."
"Everything involves an annual commitment with a monthly charge."
"Azure costing can be multi-layered."
