The solution is useful for application development, but the user interface and user experience must be improved
The product must be made easier to use. The design is a bit tricky. When we log in to the Alibaba Cloud Marketplace and browse products, they look very small. The user experience must be improved. Alibaba Cloud must increase its partner network and brand awareness in our country. It will give our customers more opportunities to scale and save in the long run.

The pricing structure needs improvement since it uses cloud billing. We do not know how the pricing is calculated as it is all on the cloud. The concept that the more you use, the more you have to pay could have been much better. They could have implemented credits based on usage so that users would be able to easily calculate the pricing and provide it to customers. I am the co-founder and CTO of the company called Aiwox (A I W O O X). We have numerous projects for mobile application development, and we have shifted from Google Firebase to Supabase because there is a fixed price for Supabase. Supabase is built on top of AWS, and it provides a very good pricing model. Some of the credits are free, and once you reach a certain limit, you know the charges. The second improvement area is related to SQL. They provide the real-time database, which is very good, and they have gradually started including PostgreSQL, which is a relational database, but it is not production-ready yet. I may be incorrect; perhaps they have released something new, but PostgreSQL database real-time database remains a challenge with Google Firebase.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Alibaba Cloud allows for easy setup of mirror sites and backup servers, ensuring data redundancy and high availability."
"It's easy to use, cheaper than other solutions, and more secure."
"I rate Alibaba Cloud's scalability an eight out of ten."
"Flexibility and costs were probably the most important thing for us. The cost was one of the big factors for choosing Alibaba Cloud relative to other cloud solutions, especially in Asia"
"The product's initial setup phase was easy for me since I had a background in cloud products."
"The most valuable feature of Alibaba Cloud is the communication it allows between two servers."
"It is a scalable product. So, scaling up or scaling down is possible."
"Alibaba Cloud has lower costs and good support."
"We're able to use the solution in several processes."
"The scalability is good."
"Allows us to create functions without any infrastructure apart from the Google App Engine."
"There are several features that I really appreciate about Google Firebase; it has an authentication and authorization tool, a real-time database, and serverless cloud functions."
"The main feature for us is that the tools are all in one place and that you don't need to bother with the backend system and the infrastructure."
"It has security rules to control database read/write operations in real-time."
"The most valuable feature of the solution stems from the fact that its storage can be easily used in our mobile applications."
"The platform is scalable."

Cons

"Alibaba Cloud has some problems related to latency and connection issues. If you go for a cloud solution provider, you will need to access the Internet, which may result in latency and bandwidth issues, leading to slowness in operations."
"It is not robust."
"A big area for improvement in Alibaba Cloud is its support. Another area for improvement in Alibaba Cloud is SDK-based service because sometimes, the SDKs don't work correctly. Support for API-based services also needs improvement in Alibaba Cloud because, at the moment, it's not that stable."
"The user experience must be improved."
"The solution’s user interface could be improved."
"Alibaba Cloud's initial setup is somewhat complex."
"Alibaba Cloud needs to increase availability in Thailand."
"The solution should have more integration."
"The solution's pricing could be better."
"We had some compatibility issues with Elixir."
"Automation testing with mobile devices could be improved, especially in regression testing to ensure that new feature launches do not affect other features."
"In terms of DevOps, such as CI/CD deployments and integrating webhooks with GitHub, GitLab, or other platforms, Firebase does not offer those capabilities at that level."
"You need to have some experience with deployment."
"Firebase uses JSON, and the storage format is very different to that of SQL. This does not allow for easy migrations."
"The exploration of the functions within Firebase could be improved."
"The customization options for password resetting are limited. The process requires additional steps and coding to make it user-friendly. While Google Firebase works well for the login page, password resetting and user verification redirect users to a separate interface, which is not very user-friendly."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I don't know the exact cost. It is cheaper than AWS."
"The product is not that expensive."
"I'm not sure about the exact pricing, but let's just say if it cost a dollar for Amazon AWS, it was closer to 70 to 80 cents for Alibaba Cloud."
"On a scale from one to ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive, I rate the solution's pricing a three out of ten."
"I noticed on the pricing that it's quite expensive. It is the price you pay for making a practical choice for enterprise-level companies since it has so many features and it fits an enterprise-level company just like our company right now."
"The price of Alibaba Cloud is good. If I was to use Microsoft Azure I would have to pay 30 percent more."
"The cost is better than similar solutions."
"Pricing for Alibaba Cloud is a little bit cheaper. It has reasonable pricing."
"The product is free."
"They have a free tier that will cover most projects. For more intensive use, you pay as you use it, but the price is very cheap."
"The tool is affordable."
"The price of Google Firebase is very good."
"The pricing plans indicate it can get very expensive."
"It is not easy to calculate the cost per copy, use or if the load rose dramatically we did not know how that would impact the final price."
"The moment you go into volumes, then you work on a pay-per-volume basis."
"The more the number of reads and writes, the more one gets charged."
