Infrastructure management simplifies for clients with integrated interface and enhanced resource utilization
Currently, the HPE HCI is based on the VMware solution, and most clients are skipping VMware because VMware has changed its licensing method. If HPE starts to use its own hypervisor for its HCI solutions, it will be the best solution. We push a different vendor for the backup and replication, so we only use the HCI, then we use Veeam for the backup and replication section.

Experience improved integration and cost-efficiency while facing support challenges
The best features of VxRail are its compatibility with VMware, its hyper-converged solution capabilities, and its single line of support. These are the most beneficial aspects of VxRail. I switched from the previous HP solution to Dell solution because it was a good decision. With HP servers, we dealt with a vendor for the compute servers, another vendor for the storage servers, and another vendor for the networking, which required us to manage multiple vendors. Now, we have a single team who can handle VxRail and a single line of support. We don't need anything other than that, and these are the differences we noticed after we switched.

Pros

"The most valuable features of this solution are fast deployment, security, and it is easy to upgrade."
"Our storage and IT are now at an enterprise level with all the necessary controls and restrictions being enacted."
"The features of HPE Hyper Converged that are most effective and beneficial are its simplicity as well as its scalability."
"The features of HPE Hyper Converged that are most effective and beneficial are its simplicity as well as its scalability."
"Ease of management, as I come from a software background, and I'm responsible for IT overall. I can get in there and turn some nuts and bolts and make things happen without any trouble."
"It is a stable solution...Those who want flexibility, ease of use, and a simple support system can opt for HPE."
"No concerns or issues with stability."
"If you were comparing this solution to VMware, it has more features, and it's very fast on the recovery."
"A valuable feature of the solution is that it allows everything to be integrated into a single model, comprised of hardware and software."
"VxRail's integration with VMware environments is very good. Our VxRail is built on VMware, and the integration is seamless. We haven't faced any challenges. We can migrate VMs between servers in real-time and replicate them to our DR site without any problems."
"The recent technologies and management features that have been implemented."
"like VxRail because it's fully integrated. The other hyperconverged solutions are also well integrated. They are all highly similar to each other in that regard. But we prefer VxRail for its physical integrations or lifecycle management. It also has vCenter, which integrates the hardware lifecycle management."
"First and foremost, I would advise people to purchase this solution mainly for the simplicity of the system. And it's all managed in one place, which is nice compared to Nutanix where you had to administrate multiple places. And, the support now is so good."
"Dell owns the EMC, EMC owns VMware, and there are many other interconnections throughout the industry which allows a fully integrated solution from a technical perspective."
"VxRail supports straightforward scaling, allowing you to add as many nodes as needed for upgrades and simplifying the upgrade process."
"The pricing is very, very good."

Cons

"In the Hyper Converged environment, some of the brands only support the OS VMware and not Hyper-V from Microsoft or even Red Hat or KVM."
"Currently, the HPE HCI is based on the VMware solution, and many clients are skipping VMware due to its changed licensing method."
"Currently, the HPE HCI is based on the VMware solution, and many clients are skipping VMware due to its changed licensing method."
"Providing local technical support and improving the price are areas this service needs to consider improving."
"Scalability requires using additional nodes."
"The solution is not very stable."
"A software-only version of the solution, without the hardware, would be nice."
"The solution can be improved on the management side. More management features should be added to future releases."
"The scalability is limited to a single cluster with 64 nodes."
"During upgrades, some aspects get broken, requiring us to follow up with the VMware team to fix them."
"Having a native replication would be an improvement."
"We have issues at times with the one-click upgrade, which is bugging us. At times, the one-click upgrade does not work or does not work well."
"The implementation of a VxRail, it's straightforward, but the ongoing utilization, and integration, are where it can start to become difficult if you're not used to doing it."
"The licensing costs are too expensive. They should work on their pricing model."
"Right now, it's difficult for a non-technical person to participate in using the product. It could be made more consumer-friendly."
"The major issue with VxRail is the razoring process, which can only be performed by Dell."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is an expensive solution, however. If they could adjust the pricing, that would be helpful."
"It is a cost-effective solution."
"It could be cheaper, everything could be cheaper."
"The entire solution is packaged with all licenses and support."
"The price per value compared to other solutions, like Nutanix and SimpliVity. (We made the deal before approval of HPE SimpliVity deal)."
"If I'm comparing with Dell, HPE Hyper Converged is definitely cheaper in my experience."
"We have a very good return on investment due to data savings through compression and deduplication methods. It simplifies IT management and enhances security, including the end-to-end security of the IT data engine. The product is complete, simple, and provides visibility."
"There are costs in addition to the standard licensing fees."
"More cost-effective than Nutanix."
"We most likely pay yearly for support. The cost was justified by now because it stays up and I don't have to constantly open tickets. I probably rebooted the system once or twice. We haven't replaced any discs in the storage, we haven't had to do any disc replacements, so it just runs. You pay a little more but you cut down on the maintenance."
"The hardware cost associated is a bit high"
"It varies. It could be $100,000 at the smaller end and millions and millions of dollars at the higher end."
"It is reasonable. Compared to the legacy hardware that we had so far, we are not paying way more, but we have very good performance. Its price is good."
"Since VMware is detached from Dell, the solution's pricing is a bit higher than before."
"I do not believe that the price should be lower, as I feel it to be reasonable."
"It's a mandatory cost with everything included"
