Provides firmware compliance and the ability to connect to iPO
I've been involved in various upgrades. It's pretty easy to set up with vCenter. We just push out an appliance template in vCenter. We run ours on virtual servers. Deployment can be done by just one person. The number of people needed for maintenance will depend on your server inventory. If you have more than 100 servers, you will need three to five people. If you have 500 to 1,000 servers, you will need a team of 10 to 20 people.

"Gives the business interfaces to view real-time pictures of IT business services."
"We get templates, so it's speed to delivery for us. It's a big difference with the template features."
"Administration-wise it's going to be easier. More smooth and more flexible."
"We cannot function without this solution. "
"The auto remediation feature has been most valuable. They have also introduced an AOP feature of ServiceNow that we are keen to explore."
"You can improve integrations of the operation with the solution."
"ITOM communicates information about incidents and maintains them. It handles tickets change, manages service networks, and reduces IT service downtime for the organization."
"It's easy to set up."
"The solution is saving time by providing templates, reducing duplication in rule configuration, and offering efficient alert management."
"The most valuable features of the solution are discovery, cloud governance, event management, and service mapping."
"It is a very stable solution."
"It has been very useful for tracking. It has evolved a lot over time, and there is a single pane of glass where you can track and see everything."

Cons

"The network configuration part of HPE OneView needs improvement. The solution has way too many features, and there's a need for proper configuration indicators to be put in place."
"There was a feature called HPE cloud manager, but now it is owned by Micro Focus. HPE should make a cloud optimizer again."
"The solution could add storage, integration services, and end-to-end support for Cisco switches or other competitor products."
"We ran into a couple of issues here and there with the baselines for the firmware and not having enough space on the appliance itself to be able to have more than two baselines."
"One thing which is missing is that you can't actually log a support call yourself."
"It needs more reporting capabilities."
"I would like to see support for things that aren't in the current generation. We have a lot of 7th and 8th generation hardware."
"HPE OneView should be able to cover more device models apart from ProLiant and Synergy."
"Enhancing automation-related solutions, such as Wi-Fi, porting, machinery, and product automation would help to achieve better operational outcomes."
"An area for improvement for ServiceNow IT Operations Management is making service mapping and discovery easier for non-IP devices."
"The out-of-the-box reporting feature is not as user friendly as other tools."
"We are facing difficulties with service mapping of CIs from the end users, and are seeking help from third-party vendors."
"I believe that technical support could improve a bit. I would rate it a six."
"The solution needs to add mobilization, where we can connect mobile devices or wireless devices to do wireless scanning and bring assets into the database."
"The product needs to add a workflow insight tool."
"The most complaints we have received from our clients are the solution's discovery aspect. I've heard a few concerns from the customers where we have to integrate with a third-party tool to make a full-fledged discovery along with ServiceNow. ServiceNow alone does not do the total capacity of the discovery. The discovery portion of ServiceNow IT Operations Management is not in-depth as what the customers are looking for. The information that it gathers from the assets is a little more limited than what other tools provide."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I feel the product's price falls a bit on the higher side."
"This license cost for OneView was $3,000 USD."
"I am happy with the price."
"HPE had some other solutions, but they were actually quite expensive to buy. So, when OneView came along, it was kind of reasonable in terms of price for licenses, etc."
"The solution is free to use, but if you want the management aspect you require a virtual machine such as C7000 or Synergy which require licenses."
"HPE could lower the price."
"Synergy does not require iLO licenses but servers and enclosures must be purchased."
"Use it. It is free."
"While not entirely sure, I believe the solution costs at least a million dollars annually."
"It is moderately expensive. The pricing itself and the licensing options are depending on the model and the customization."
"My customers pay for the ServiceNow IT Operations Management license annually. I'd rate the pricing based on value. ServiceNow IT Operations Management is a premium product as it has better features than competitors."
"The solution is costly compared to the products offered by its competitors."
"This solution offers good value but comes at a very high premium. Pricing could be reduced by 10 to 20%."
"We obtained discovery licenses at about seven dollars Australian per unit, which we found to be reasonable and competitive."
"It has different subscription models."
"The pricing is high and may be excluding the small to medium-sized enterprise businesses."
