Hyper-converged storage has improved performance and now supports high redundancy for our VMs
Nutanix Cloud Infrastructure (NCI) was transparent because we were on a regular infrastructure before. We went on NCI and were able to improve performance, but it did not really change how things worked. The performance was really better for applications and access times to the data. I regularly looked at the analytics to see what was going on in my servers and what it was saying to optimize performance. It was pretty interesting because it could analyze and give insights on how to get things working better. In the latest versions, the Prism interface has been replaced by Prism Central. This requires another machine to be deployed to manage the servers.

Quotes from Members

Pros

"The product includes features like Zero Trust and seamless integration with LDAP and Active Directory, which allows us to manage user access efficiently."
"Technical support is okay."
"SRM capabilities for replication have been proven reliable and very useful for our organization."
"Nutanix Acropolis allows us to manage our company with a smaller team of IT technicians, doubling the number of servers that we manage without having to increase the number of IT personnel, allowing us to build more with less."
"The best feature of Nutanix Acropolis AOS is the central management of all of our resources. Additionally, it is easy to use"
"Most beneficial feature is simplicity, ease of use."
"Overall, this is a very good product, and I would say that it is a Top of the World solution."
"I’m confident that there is no infrastructure on the market now that is as simple to implement and configure as Nutanix."
"Data locality provides super-fast data access and ultra-low latency."

Cons

"The entry-level product has limitations on the number of disks and enclosures."
"The pricing model for software and hardware subscription renewals can be improved."
"I would like to see official compatibility with Red Hat in the future."
"There is a lot of functionality in Prism Central, but sometimes you want to see those features in Prism Element."
"The solution does not lend support when we connect with a few dongle licenses."
"The hardest part is negotiating for the budget to do so."
"We would like to see it support other systems outside of the compute stack from which it was built."
"The name of the solutions offered by Nutanix does not indicate what the tool does."
"Sometimes, I had to install it twice to place the solution."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"Licensing depends on the features needed."
"The licensing costs are a bit expensive but when you compare the features, it's reasonable."
"Their technical support is really good. They have been very helpful."
"Work close with your InfraTeam and discuss with Nutanix the best way to achieve sizing and price that are right for you."
"I would rate the price seven out of ten with ten being the most expensive."
"Extra features should not be so expensive. We would love to be able to use or even just try some of the extra features without having to buy them. Buying those features is just as expensive as buying vSphere licenses, so the cost savings is nullified."
"Nutanix Cloud Infrastructure’s pricing is very good and competitive."
"Setup cost is minor, pricing is quite a bit (we have a 7-node-cluster for about 450K EUR with 2 vGPU-nodes for Citrix) but that includes hardware, software, and support."
