Centralized monitoring has reduced manual investigations and supports 24x7 threat response
Huntress Managed SIEM could be improved if there were more flexible dashboards or reporting options for different clients and security requirements, if it had more powerful filtering and correlation capabilities, just like Wazuh, and also broader native integrations with firewalls, cloud platforms, and third-party security tools. Alert customization is important. One area where I would like to see improvements is the reporting. More detailed, customizable reports which show security trends, incident timelines, and response metrics would be beneficial. The reason I chose nine out of ten is that the improvements I was discussing, which include dashboard customization and advanced filtering options, would make it easier for me to conduct investigations. The advanced log filtering and reporting flexibility also need some tuning. More control over these features would make daily investigations much easier.

Helps to deal with potential attacks and is available at a reasonable price
My company has had many benefits from the use of the product in the last eight years. The tool has streamlined our company's incident response process since it serves as a log repository, which allows us to correlate events and access different technology stacks. In our company, we were able to actually find some potential attacks, so it has been very helpful. The tool's integration capability isn't so great. In my company, we managed to integrate it with our Microsoft Azure Subscription, after which we managed to integrate it with other tools. You will face a lot of difficulties if you want to integrate it with your database monitoring tool, PAM solutions, or IAM products. The product has done well overall for my company's teams to deal with their workflow efficiency. I would not recommend the product to others. I rate the tool a seven out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Huntress Managed SIEM's correlation and detection coverage does a good job identifying potential threats early in the attack lifecycle, and I find it very useful."
"Huntress Managed SIEM was able to detect zero-days and alert our team before they could be exploited."
"The single pane of glass management with the other security products we use from Huntress is incredibly valuable."
"Huntress Managed SIEM's response time is far superior to any other vendor we have tested in terms of MDR."
"Huntress is a great company and incredibly helpful with deployment."
"The customer support for Huntress Managed SIEM is top-notch."
"During the year I have been using it, I have seen improvements such as no alert fatigue, which is beneficial, and obviously the automated threat detection."
"Having real people reviewing the alerts compared to automated systems gives me confidence and peace of mind."
"In my opinion, the solution's most valuable feature is its capacity to monitor network traffic, logs from devices within the network, and network captures. This capability extends beyond logs to include full network capturing."
"I can have enterprise security, email security, next generation firewall security log, HIDS and NIDS logs, etc. all on the same dashboard. It makes it easy to pinpoint or correlate our server to this. I can find out if there is lateral movement. This is the biggest advantage of this solution."
"Integration is exceedingly minimal, since its project development is much easier than that of LogRythm or IBM."
"NetWitness Platform offers flexibility for deployment and robust integration capabilities."
"The most valuable features are the threat prediction and network forensics."
"The newer 11.5 version that my team is using has found it to have good mapping."
"Alerting Module: It provides real-time event processing language on all the logs/packets stream for advanced alerting, i.e., using SQL LIKE statements."
"NetWitness Platform is valuable for creating rules that the solution must detect."

Cons

"The major improvement needed for Huntress Managed SIEM is storage scaling, especially with our heavy ingest from FortiGate, plus some help managing OpenSearch memory spikes."
"The deployment of Huntress Managed SIEM is somewhat complex compared to ITDR and EDR, as those are just click, click, click, and next, next, finish, while SIEM requires some form of configuration."
"I think if Huntress Managed SIEM could check in a little bit faster, that would probably be the biggest thing for improving it."
"The scalability for SMEs and MSPs is noteworthy for a few hundred endpoints, but it struggles with scalability when dealing with high logs, multi-site, multi-tenant setups, and large volumes of endpoints, which poses a challenge."
"Huntress Managed SIEM can be improved with more integrations; that would always be great."
"I would appreciate more features in the stack. I would like Huntress Managed SIEM to integrate with EDRs like SentinelOne to combine that level of intelligence and information into their stack so that they can leverage whatever protections the client has and gather that intelligence to help with the MDR side."
"One area that could be improved in Huntress Managed SIEM is the reporting and customization."
"Huntress has experienced occasional service disruptions, including signal processing delays and potential portal issues, but it is sufficient for the company."
"I believe that integrating the solution with other products such as Oracle would be beneficial."
"The system architecture is complex and sometimes it’s hard to troubleshoot potential problems."
"We encountered stability issues in the earlier versions, and much fewer in the newer versions."
"The tool's integration capability isn't so great."
"The initial setup was complex because it takes a lot of time to complete the implementation."
"Security needs improvement. We would still like to know how the traffic is entering the organization."
"The product's licensing models are complex to understand. This particular area needs improvement."
"The user interface is a little bit difficult for new users and it needs to be improved."
