Automation platforms streamline processes and offer flexibility, but AI integration and version upgrades pose challenges
In the technology world, there is always room for improvement. Technologies evolve day by day, especially with the emergence of artificial intelligence and generative AI models. Although IBM BPM is a substantial product, adopting and integrating new technologies quickly is not easy due to the migration and upgrade paths involved. Every time new versions are released, we face business and production challenges that make rapid adoption challenging. The main concern bothering me today regarding IBM BPM is the integration of AI components.

Improved on-premise performance has supported faster, secure apps and clearer server monitoring
One thing I appreciate most about Windows Server AppFabric is because it's widely used; it's easier to get solutions online from other communities when I am stuck. Because it is widely used, it's easier to get solutions and also easier to work with. Especially after I found 2019, I have worked with 2019 and I appreciate it. It's easier to get solutions. After implementing Windows Server AppFabric, I can say I love the speed. The functionality and speed are good. Earlier, when they added more people, I could see some lagging. But now, I have no issue even if I double the users, even if I add 30% of users or any applications, it will still be fast. It increased the speed and also security. I've noticed the new one I have is good and secure. I love the security. The monitoring capabilities of Windows Server AppFabric help me improve service visibility and troubleshooting. In a day, I have to go through a lot of the logs and also the utilization. There, I see the CPU. I have to do the utilization, and I can see what is utilizing the most. By doing this, I can be able to tell what, in case I need to do an upgrade, what I might need to provide the upgrade or maybe increase in users that will not affect the operations.

"It has improved my organization quite a bit; it brought awareness to what the business processes are, even to the business side, who did not necessarily know what they are."
"The most valuable features come in the bundle, the design process, creating services, creating BPDs, creating coaches, and UI/UX."
"They tell us that the product is very stable and very robust."
"Faster: industrialization of the renewal process with the automation of certain tasks and a clarified organization can handle a case 3 times faster."
"It is very usable and easy to understand. Antivirus and VPN are the main features being used now. It allows my clients to access the network from home, which was very crucial because of the pandemic."
"This product works great for us and it's unfortunate that they're not going to support it anymore."
"The product's deployment phase was very easy."
"The most valuable feature is AppFabric's hosting solution, which is what we need for running workflows."

Cons

"Where it can be improved is Integration."
"When you have to integrate files for enterprise applications, we call them ESIs, this requires a lot of work, because you have to first create the EF file and integration designer, which takes quite some time, before you can be able to consume a website."
"The solution has scalability issues; on a scale, I would rate it at eight out of ten."
"The business would like to use the product with a lot less IT and equipment involvement."
"It's a bit technical, related to the instance of migrations. It's a tough thing to handle, in every new release, in every upgrade, that we have to do things in the applications or in the product."
"I would say the scalability is very good but it's not perfect. It is much more scalable than it has been in the past but... it does require some work to keep it stable. So that is an area that should be improved."
"The pricing is a little bit high. It's gone up in cost."
"Yes, on the Process Center (development environment), especially when you have too many developers working on it. Then, it becomes unstable."
"Microsoft will stop supporting the product next year, and we can't run unsupported programs in our systems."
"The product is unable to connect with different cloud services."
"The most important issue I've found is the blue screen errors, particularly when customers use external displays with a P-type cable."
"Its price and licensing policy can be improved. Licensing is sometimes confusing; there are so many different options that it is difficult to find out what to buy or what to choose for my necessity."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We have a yearly licensing model. It is not expensive. There are no addition costs to the standard license."
"The solution might be expensive, but I can't give you a precise number. In the market here, I've seen two main products for BPM: IBM BPM and Camunda. Camunda is very popular and open-source, so there's no direct comparison."
"I rate the tool's pricing a seven out of ten."
"The solution is highly-priced."
"I give the pricing an eight out of ten."
"It is pricey."
"When considering the features of the solution the price is expensive compared to competitors."
"I think it's a reasonably priced tool, but it's important to consider which customers should buy this solution. It's designed for enterprise customers, not small ones."
"It is expensive, and its licensing is a bit confusing."
"The product is affordable, in my opinion."
