Have managed daily asset and alert monitoring effectively but have encountered limitations with manual processes and interface usability
It's still very manual and doesn't work on its own. It's still in an early stage and not on par where we can consider it a really successful detection system. The accuracy is not there. The UI could be better when compared to Sentinels where we can use flags and tagging. It could be much more user-friendly. IBM Security QRadar has all features and is fully competitive with other SIEM tools, but when it comes to user-friendliness, a new user takes time to get used to it. More intuitive, user-friendly interfaces and more helpful documentation would be beneficial. The query searching and data fetching could be faster. In large to very large organizations with around 5,000 or 6,000 assets or beyond, even with proper configurations and RAM and hardware backing up, the query is fairly slow.

Knowledgeable support, reliable, and useful compliance policies
IBM Watson for Cyber Security can be deployed on-premise or in the cloud and it is used as a SIEM solution The most valuable features of IBM Watson for Cyber Security are ease of use and out-of-the-box reports and compliance policies. Additionally, if there are aspects that are missing IBM add…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"When it comes to QRadar, they can do the correlation and not only in networks but also endpoints. This is one of the good features that we have noticed."
"The correlation and the parsing are important features, since it is very important for a SIEM to have a good scalability and performance."
"With QRadar, we are getting better outputs such as the reports and other outputs."
"I have found the most important features to be the flexibility, tech framework, and disk manager."
"The dashboard is easy to use and easy to understand what's going on and what the alerts mean."
"QRadar, Splunk, and ArcSight are SIEM solutions with built-in AI/ML features. They can do the complete investigation and alert the admin about what is happening. They can also do the root cause analysis. There are many other features that come with QRadar. It has a more granular log, so you can integrate with various non-IT as well as IT-based components. You can get unstructured data to the SIEM data, and you can identify more what is happening in the network or what is happening in the central head office. You can also identify what is happening between your remote offices. You can also use it to identify what the users in the field are doing on their devices and how things are moving. From the integration point of view, it is very centric. It gives complete control centrally. If a user is not connected to the system, whenever he comes online, we can see the policy updates over the Internet, and we can ensure that the data that is supposed to be protected is protected."
"The solution is relatively easy to use."
"The most valuable feature is the ability to get the logs and analyze them, as these logs help us in terms of analyzing and actually using Watson on them, making it a pretty great tool for intelligence and really a great product."
"IBM Watson for Cyber Security is very stable."
"The most valuable features of IBM Watson for Cyber Security are ease of use and out-of-the-box reports and compliance policies. Additionally, if there are aspects that are missing IBM add them in the next release."
"From what I have seen so far, this is an excellent product."
"The customer support is very good."
"The most valuable feature of this product is innovation, where the research and upgrading of technology never ends."

Cons

"Their technical support is not good. We opened a lot of cases and from my experience, they are not complicated issues but it takes forever to get an answer."
"Whenever we are upgrading or installing any type of patch, at that time we have some delays."
"I'd like to see it being able to be integrated with more security products."
"The dashboard and reports are not user-friendly or efficient so are of little help with threat hunting activity."
"For the common needs of clients to fulfill requirements, a real integration with Blueworks Live (BPA modeling tool also from IBM) and a more suitable BPM on cloud solution for midsize customers."
"I really didn't like QRadar to be honest. The solution just isn't user friendly; it is clunky and the integration capabilities within the product are not that great."
"The user interface is a bit difficult to get used to."
"The vulnerability scanner is not accurate."
"In the future, I would like to see threat intelligence included."
"The dashboard could improve in IBM Watson for Cyber Security."
"They need to continue to build the AI capabilities."
"This is an expensive product, so making it more cost-effective would be an improvement."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"When it comes to the initial pricing there can be a huge discount from there side and also I think they are open to competing with other products."
"QRadar's price is reasonable compared to LogRhythm."
"The maintenance costs are high."
"I would like for them to lower the price."
"The solution comes with a high price tag, while some of the competitors provide identical functionality in their offerings at no extra cost."
"The solution is costly and the price differs depending on the vendor you use."
"IBM Security QRadar is a very expensive tool."
"think the pricing is quite flexible."
"The price of this solution should be lower, although I understand why IBM charges a premium price."
"IBM Watson for Cyber Security is very simple to license and is priced well."

What SOC product do you recommend?
