Offers strong integration capabilities and reliable features but needs pricing and scaling improvements
Many things are evolving with the AI buzz in the market. What I would like to see improved or enhanced in webMethods.io in the future is that since webMethods.io is already under IBM, I think IBM will introduce and integrate AI into it. Additionally, regarding what webMethods.io can improve is the license cost. Other cloud players are also providing the same kind of functionality, such as AWS and Azure. webMethods.io is being installed on-premises, but AWS is providing it directly in the cloud. When comparing the license cost and request per minute cost, webMethods.io needs to address that. There are many competitors in the market for this.

Interfacing flexibility enhances integration capabilities while improving personalization features
The best feature is that with the Workday Business Process Framework, once you set it, you don't have to have a lot of manual interference. In other platforms of LMSs, assignments require manual interference every single time. With the Workday Business Process Framework, if I trigger something, it keeps rotating. If I need to make a minor change, it works fine without impact. With other assignments, you have to stop the current one and create a new one. Editing the current Workday Business Process Framework to trigger something is more feasible than editing an entire assignment in any other platform. From the in-built versions to making sure you have a community of practices adapted inside the system, learners have a much better understanding, and you can utilize the Flex Teams to do community management. We are also utilizing many in-built features in terms of dashboards that are currently there for an admin perspective. The platform is capable of doing much better. It depends on how you want to use it. If you search online, you see very limited capacities of Workday that we can use, but when you drill down and see how best you can utilize it, you have much better versions of how Workday Learn can be used.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The tool is very powerful and user-friendly."
"Overall, it's a really good product."
"It's obvious that the heart of the product lies here. It's comprised of all aspects of ESB (Enterprise Gateway, Adapter, TN, Java) and BPM (task, rules engine)."
"It is a bundled product stack for A2A and B2B usage, and it is one of the best products which I have used during my integration career."
"The ease of mapping... is the single largest feature. It gives us the ability to craft anything. A lot of single-purpose technologies, like Mirth, are good for healthcare messages, but we use webMethods not only for healthcare messages but for other business-related purposes, like integrations to Salesforce or integrations to Office 365. It's multi-purpose nature is very strong."
"This solution has given us a competitive advantage because we have better automation and insight."
"High throughput and excellent scalability."
"From a user perspective, the feature which I like the most about Integration Server is its designer."
"I find it easy to navigate, especially when it comes to tasks like extending offer letters. Everything is configured into a single template, eliminating the need to create multiple offer letters for different positions. The effectiveness, user-friendliness, and adaptability to new features are key strengths of Workday. It's also convenient for sourcing, allowing us to revisit candidates who performed well but didn't pass the interview. Workday's harmonized platform brings everything together in one place, making it efficient and streamlined."
"The tool helps to do multiple things like assigning tasks, approvals, report creation, and communications."
"It is efficient to fine-tune some of our organizational processes and policies."
"The best feature is that with the Workday Business Process Framework, once you set it, you don't have to have a lot of manual interference."

Cons

"In general, when I compare their support with other vendors, I would not rate them high."
"The improvement needed is related to the model's position. As of now, it seems to be more of a conceptual idea rather than a widely implemented solution. For how long"
"Documentation needs tuning. There is a lot of dependency with SoftwareAG."
"When migration happens from the one release to an upgraded release from Software AG, many of the existing services are deprecated and developers have to put in effort testing and redeveloping some of the services. It would be better that upgrade releases took care to support the lower-level versions of webMethods."
"I have noticed that webMethods ActiveTransfer has had problems when handling large files. For example, when we receive (and perform operations on) files that are larger than about 16 MB, the software starts losing performance."
"The deployment should be simplified."
"Keeping in mind that we haven't explored the microservices completely, which has been a key element of their innovation recently, I do think webMethods is coming under increasing pressure when it comes to their price-to-feature value proposition. It's probably the single biggest strategic risk they have."
"The learning curve is a little steep at first."
"At times, I've heard from our technical team that configuring or implementing certain requests from senior leadership can be challenging. There seem to be constraints in fulfilling specific requirements. Unfortunately, I don't have detailed information as it's what I've gathered from discussions with the technical team. There might be limitations in what can be achieved, but I can't provide specific examples without more context. Certainly, there's room for enhancement, especially in terms of regular upgrades. I've noticed that there aren't many updates, and it would be beneficial to have improvements. Regular upgrades and the introduction of new, innovative solutions could make our work more efficient and easier to manage."
"There could be more automation included."
"We encountered delays with the tool."
"Since it's not a core LMS platform but a module in an HCM platform, if they bring in more personalization aspects from an admin perspective for us to build to give user experience, that would be great."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is an expensive tool. I rate the product price a nine out of ten, where ten means it is very expensive."
"Initialy good pricing and good, if it comes to Enterprise license agreements."
"The price is a little bit high, especially regarding their support."
"This is an expensive product and we may replace it with something more reasonably priced."
"With our current licensing, it's very easy for us to scale. With our older licensing model, it was very hard. This is definitely something that I would highlight."
"I am not involved in the licensing side of things."
"The pricing and licensing costs for webMethods are very high, which is the only reason that we might switch to another product."
"Some of the licensing is "component-ized," which is confusing to new users/customers."
"I find it reasonably priced, even for startups. The cost is minimal and depends on what features you want to add. Workday allows customization and personalization, and it operates like a cloud solution, making it affordable as long as you know what you need."
