A potential area for improvement is enhancing support for cluster environments and distributed Vaults. Clients in multiple countries that need central access have different challenges that require better solutions from CyberArk. For financial services, CyberArk can improve incident response by ensuring fast support for critical priority tickets to meet compliance requirements. Providing more documentation on CyberArk is recommended for new team members to enhance their troubleshooting capabilities. I understand it's up to the client, but 99% fail to change the demo key, so it's crucial for CyberArk to emphasize changing the key and documenting it as part of the installation process.

Positive feedback highlights lightweight design and compatibility while suggesting more AI integration
I think Silverfort is actually a really good product. Silverfort helps identify blind spots in your identity and access management, covering areas that traditional systems don't, such as command line tools. It checks your Active Directory authentication and continues only if the check is okay, plus it works with older protocols such as NTLM, which is a significant advantage. The product is fairly new, but it's great; it's lightweight and agent-based, acting as a bridge between your Active Directory and any other application, with no impact on the applications. Silverfort is one of the few vendors that offers a free POC, and usually the customer ends up taking it, as they've lost very few deals in this manner. It's complementary to other tools you may have, whether they are TAM solutions such as Delinea or Xerox. Silverfort also has a lightweight adapter for domain controllers, and it finds gaps in security. Its capabilities are expanding regularly, with new features voted on every few months. For companies with large Active Directory implementations and zero staff, Silverfort provides instant results in identifying risks and blind spots. It also includes built-in virtual features, and while I don't know the exact pricing, it's not expensively priced, making it an attractive option.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Improved our user access and tracking, thereby safeguarding the organization and its customers."
"Within the solution, I love the fact that everything is recorded. The configuration capabilities are great, too."
"CyberArk is a very stable product and it's a stable product because it has a simple design and a simple architecture that allows you to leverage the economies of scale across the base of your infrastructure that you already have implemented. It doesn't really introduce any new complex pieces of infrastructure that would make it that much more difficult to scale."
"CyberArk Privileged Access Manager is the best solution for safeguarding sensitive patient data in healthcare, providing visibility and traceability that enhance compliance."
"For me, CyberArk Privileged Access Manager is the best product, and even Gartner says the same."
"Technical support has been very responsive in navigating challenges. It is very easy to open a ticket."
"The most beneficial feature in CyberArk Privileged Access Manager is its simple user interface."
"Due to meaningless error messages, it is not possible to repair non-trivial errors without support, however, with support, we solved every problem."
"Silverfort helps identify blind spots in your identity and access management, covering areas that traditional systems don't, such as command line tools."

Cons

"Password Vault is much pricier than other solutions. A vendor team might struggle to explain why that price is justified. There are good alternatives that cost less."
"To get it to a ten it should give other possibilities to select if you could follow the keystrokes. It should have a flexibility with things where people can use it a lot faster."
"As of now, it does not manage all of the IDM practices. It is only good as a PAM solution."
"There was a situation when one of our presidents had an issue, but I can't recall the specifics."
"CyberArk has two disadvantages; the first is that it's insanely expensive and the other is it's very complex."
"The initial setup is pretty difficult and it takes a while to put into place."
"The reporting should be improved. There should be more customization."
"More additional features as far as the REST is concerned, because we have something which was the predecessor to REST. A lot of the features which were in the predecessor have not necessarily been ported over to REST yet."
"If Silverfort could integrate a gentle type of AI similar to Microsoft Copilot or enable workflow creation similar to Salesforce, it would further improve user navigation, even though the platform is already simple."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"CyberArk Privileged Access Manager is more expensive than its competitors, such as BeyondTrust, Delinea, and ManageEngine PAM360."
"Cost efficiency is the number one thing that can be improved in my mind. This would change lots of companies minds on purchasing the product."
"I hope to learn how the pricing works so that I can understand it better, but I am certain it is not inexpensive."
"The main problem for the tool is its licensing. I work for a really big company. When you try to develop this as a service, usually you work with leverage teams who are formed with dozens of members. You might dedicate one FTE, or less, for something, e.g., an antivirus administrator. You might have half an FTE's effort dedicated to administering the antivirus, but then you have a team of about 30 users who might access that ticket. The problem is that CyberArk eliminated the possibility of concurrent users years ago. This is a big problem for companies who work with leverage teams. You need to pay for everyone. 40 licenses are used by 20 or 30 people. This is a big problem because licenses are not precisely cheap."
"CyberArk is very expensive and there are additional fees for add-ons."
"There are additional features added to our CyberArk Privileged Access Manager license. For example, features that allow us to integrate into various kinds of platforms."
"I'm aware that the organization had purchased licensing for almost all of CyberArk's solutions including licensing for PTA, EPM, and the Application Identity Manager. But when it comes to PSM, this is one of the components where there's an additional charge for any extra PSMs that you want to deploy. I believe that there's some rider where the vendor has a bit of leeway to, at times, charge a premium on whatever additional services you may require above the board."
"The solution is cost-effective for the features."
