Excellent reporting server that is compatible with MySQL
We ran into some quirks that Infobright had. We interacted with Infobright's support and were able to resolve them. There still are issues with data replication - Infobright is currently for one server (unless you buy the Infobright appliance). This would mean that redundancy is something you need to implement yourself.

Automated provisioning simplifies deployment and integration
The Oracle Database Appliance is customizable and has excellent features.I don't have any problems with Oracle Database Appliance because this product is very automated, with scheduler and automatic processes throughout. You can make small inferences and changes for creating all the specific modifications. The automated provisioning feature helps speed up the database deployment process because you can use one command or option to resize all the disks or increase memory, depending on the occasion. The Oracle Database Appliance has integration in OCI Cloud. The same services simplify all the manager work regarding backups, configuration, resizing disks, and other services. Deploying the Oracle Database Appliance both on-premises and in the cloud offers the same simplification. You simply input your database name and specify memory quantity, CPU quantity, and database size. The process is identical for both on-premises and cloud deployments. The flexibility of Oracle Database Appliance has helped grow business needs for many customers. Using the Oracle Database Appliance has positively impacted my organization because I can deliver it much more comfortably. Creating a database involves many processes, but with this solution, you just input the name and configure the network and other parameters. It is very similar to RDS in AWS services, where you specify the name, choose the engine, indicate parameter groups, VPC, subnet groups, and proceed. Both Oracle Database Appliance and RDS have greatly simplified the work.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"A valuable feature was the use of a columnar database for large, ever-growing, big datasets."
"ICE helped us improve the speed for the “group-by” query by 10x."
"It is very straightforward and easy to work with."
"We now have multiple times faster queries in comparison to MS SQL."
"Infobright allowed us to reduce the number of moving parts and complexity that we had while providing good performance to produce our reports."
"The performance of ad hoc aggregation queries is superior to any RDBMS that I have used and I have used them all."
"Infobright gave us the ability to avoid significant changes in our data structure and just use Infobright like BigDataMySql."
"The high compression and the relatively fast load for a free product."
"ODA performance has been very good for our requirements."
"We primarily use it for OLTP, which has improved our costs."
"The solution is stable. The product is scalable. The technical support is very helpful. The initial setup is straightforward. I consider the product a strong solution for our customers."
"Easy management (it saves a lot of installation and patching time)."
"The product is very light; by that I mean, in terms of response rate, it's light, and Oracle can handle a lot of data."
"NVM Express (NVMe) solid-state drives: This technology brings outstanding I/O performance for midsize databases. We have tested it by doing POCs on customer sites and the results were quite satisfying."
"The initial setup was straightforward and quick - I was able to configure everything within an hour."
"If the database goes down on one of the servers, the load is automatically shifted to another server. You can troubleshoot the one that is down without affecting uptime."

Cons

"Only the data from the columns that reached 2GB will actually decrease. Other columns below 2GB in size do not leave the disk."
"After all the re-work to our product to remove as much reliance on Infobright, and the extra hardware costs we had to absorb, there was definitely a negative return on investment."
"We didn’t purchase the Enterprise Edition because it was too expensive for a product that wasn’t going to replace our main DWH database (Oracle), but was, somehow, only an addition for it."
"There still are issues with data replication - Infobright is currently for one server (unless you buy the Infobright appliance)."
"When running a complex subquery, the system hangs without giving the user any response."
"There was no scalability at all. Infobright didn't permit any changes in tables."
"On the contrary, we have switched back to the MS SSAS Tabular Model, because of pricing policy."
"MPP, distributed processing!!! And better integration with Hadoop."
"If we were able to use Oracle Database to create mobile apps, that would be great. I don't know multiple languages, like Java, etc. I need to learn a separate language, right now in order to do this."
"Their services are no longer up to my expectation. I rate the support from Oracle Database Appliance a three out of five."
"Technical support could be much better."
"Creating a VM on ODA could be improved."
"The setup is a bit complex."
"I would like it if the scalability could be increased without having to change versions."
"The solution’s flexibility could be improved."
"The product's technical support services need improvement."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Our pricing was based on server instances and it was actually very cheap compared to Oracle. I guess you get what you pay for."
"I would rate the pricing a four on a scale of one (high price) to ten (low cost)."
"Oracle Database Appliance is a very expensive solution. If you have opted for the on-premises licenses from Oracle, then you have to pay yearly. If you have opted for the cloud subscriptions offered by Oracle, then you can pay either monthly or yearly."
"The product is costly."
"Compared to Oracle Exadata, Oracle Database Appliance is affordable."
"The price of the solution should be less expensive. However, they will increase the price more."
"Oracle’s pricing is ridiculously high."
"I don’t know ODA and alternative system prices. But Oracle the database license is quite expensive and a lot of my customers plan to migrate to open source databases like PostgreSQL."
"The solution may be expensive, but when we consider the problems it solves, the stability it provides, and the fact that we don't have to buy separate parts and assemble them into a system, it becomes more affordable."
