Cloud deployment has streamlined complex manufacturing projects and supports faster implementations
The workflow configuration, alert configuration, and report designing could be a bit easier. It is easy now, but it needs some technical guidance in terms of writing code, fixing it, and making it more flexible for users. The improvement needed in this area is around twenty percent. Seventy to eighty percent is user-friendly, but if Infor can put more energies into making this easier, that would be beneficial. Extensions and any customizations are also a bit technical. If they can make it a simple drag and drop, low code or no code method, it would be easier. Another area for improvement is AI integration. As we are in the AI era, Infor is putting energies into integrating AI within the application, but they are still in progress. If AI can be integrated so that customers or users can interact with it, that would be beneficial. If users want any information from the system or application, it should be a chat-based, user-friendly interaction so that they can get insights in real time. AI integration would add an advantage on a greater level, and Infor should focus on this improvement area.

Powerful accounting functionality, easy to implement, and same day support response
There is a tool in Infor VISUAL that is called Costing Utilities, they should make the functionality more flexible. In a future release, if they could add a CRM incorporated into the core of the solution that would be awesome. Additionally, a more flexible project model. They have a project model, but it's very challenging to set up values.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The ability to customize and add functionality is a great tool to adapt the ERP to clients, independently of the country or countries where the ERP is implemented."
"The solution covers all modules, similar to Oracle and SAP."
"The best feature of this solution is it comes as a complete bundle. The solution has effective project, document, and application management. Additionally, the collaboration is fantastic, it is well integrated, and can be customized."
"Material planning and predictive planning are both essential aspects."
"An integrated environment with the product configurator, MRP and multicurrency capabilities provided better insights to manage the company instead of ad-hoc operational maneuvers."
"The product is highly scalable but setup is a bit complicated."
"The advantage of Infor LN is the ability to customize some sessions directly to what our business needs."
"It has strong sales, purchase, warehousing, and logistics order management."
"The most valuable features of Infor VISUAL are its powerful accounting, multicurrency functionality, and production aspects. We implement the manufacturing for many customers. These are the main goals of the solution."

Cons

"Additionally, the price is challenging in the market."
"The user interface is not very intuitive for newer users."
"It's not that intuitive."
"From a technical perspective, LN needs to work on customization and integration. It's fairly expensive for many clients to migrate from a customized private solution to the cloud. Infor needs to improve the cloud solution to make the migration from the on-prem customized solution faster and smoother. Otherwise, many clients will find it difficult or expensive to do."
"Infor is not very much into the market as of yet, which means that its products are not yet public and this precludes students learning about the Infor products on their own."
"Infor LN has customer support in India, but service could be improved. So, basically, they prioritize agreements, and the number of tickets closed within a certain timeframe, not necessarily the quality or resolution of the tickets themselves. They just open and close them, sometimes without even understanding the issue. That's the biggest problem."
"In general, the HR-related part of Infor LN doesn't work properly in Germany, making it an area that requires improvement."
"The User Interface needs to be more user friendly with a sleeker design and the industry best practice processes needs to be implemented."
"There is a tool in Infor VISUAL that is called Costing Utilities, they should make the functionality more flexible."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Compared to other high-end ERP software, Infor LN's cost of ownership is lower. The difference isn't huge, though."
"The tool’s AMC and support are given on a yearly basis. You need to make monthly payments for support."
"Only people who undergo training from the companies can learn about Infor products."
"I would say that Infor's pricing is competitive compared to other ERP solutions available in the market, such as SAP and Oracle."
"If you use Infor LN in Infor CloudSuite, there is a need to make an early payment for a license, which is approximately 2,500 EUR."
"The cost is somewhat high."
"The standard pricing is two thousand per year per user. There are no additional costs."
"The licensing costs for this solution are payable annually. Standard licenses are available, but there is also the option to pay to add extra features."
