Handles large data volumes effectively and offers competitive pricing
There is a lot of improvement required, as we still face some cache issues most of the time, which is a challenge that we expect to see resolved in the future. Additionally, there is some limitation when we are working with a tool, especially regarding In and Out parameters, and I feel that this aspect should be improved going ahead. We face issues with the API side, as Cloud Application Integration cannot handle large volumes; according to the API page, there is a limitation of 500 records or 500 MB. The AI integrated into the Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services solution is called Application Integration, where we still face challenges when dealing with huge volumes, as previously explained.

Reliability and support ensure secure financial messaging over decades
The most valuable feature of SWIFTnet FIN is its reliability. For a bank, reliability is the most critical aspect. We also appreciate the extensive support facilities available worldwide. SWIFTnet FIN's services provide us with reliable connections to entities like European Central Bank, and we plan to join CLS as a direct member through SWIFTnet FIN. The store and forward feature, along with real-time messaging services, are crucial for our operations. Their security measures and compliance with CSP program ensure the highest safety standards. Audits and assessments by companies like KPMG and Ernst & Young further validate SWIFTnet FIN's reliability.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution is applicable for both technical and business users."
"The most valuable feature of Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog is it provides clients with a full view of the enterprise data assets. For example, how many data assets they have and who owns them."
"The solution offers good data governance."
"The solution's scalability is high."
"The best part about the Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) is the modularity; when I say modularity, I mean the things get easier by working into different modules."
"The feature that allows me to search across the entire organizational database and then look through what objects are in which tables and which locations is quite handy."
"It comes with lot of features and is a one-stop-shop solution for integration, data modeling, and data governance. Everything can be built under one particular umbrella. If any issues come up, then there won't be any blame game saying that it could be an integration issue or an MDM hub issue because it's wholly owned by Informatica. That's the biggest advantage of Informatica MDM over that of any other tools that are available on the market."
"The most valuable features of Informatica MDM are the IDQ and RDM data management."
"The most valuable feature of SWIFTnet FIN is its reliability."
"It provides the ability to interact with financial institutions and apply the same rules."

Cons

"The main issue probably has nothing to do with end users, but installation can definitely be simplified."
"We'd like to see the microservices, which don't run yet because the solution is not yet fully cloud-based."
"Considering internal data from legacy systems, it is quite difficult to know if Informatica Data Quality meets that high level of accuracy criteria."
"The configurations could be better. It is a bit confusing because we must develop two tools when building a data model in Informatica MDM. Even though Informatica MDM is a single tool, we have our hub console plus the provisioning tool within that. Whatever data model we are building in the hub console, we have to develop it in the provisioning tool again. It is double the work to create a data model. We are also using external calls or the Java custom plans functions. This can be both positive and negative. Since MDM as a client does not support any complex validation, we have to depend on the external call or a Java call. Every time we deployed, the entire solution was impacted if something went wrong."
"They could provide more robust performance for data integration processes. It would help in improving the data quality more efficiently."
"Informatica's issue is the licensing. Right now, there are a lot of new gen MDMs that are offering a lot in a single licensing model."
"If I compare it with other MDM solutions in the market, one thing that can definitely be improved is automation to help with the configuration. Currently, when we are creating any staging of base object tables, all the columns have to be configured manually in the Informatica Hub Console. A lot of tables and different kinds of business columns have to be configured manually. There should be an automated process for this, especially in the Dev environment. When people are creating tables and columns from scratch, if there is a backend automated process for that, it would be really helpful. In Stibo, a similar feature is there wherein you can tag attributes to certain objects. It would be helpful if Informatica also provides a similar option. It would reduce the manual effort. It could be that such a feature is already there, but I am not aware of it."
"If given the opportunity, I would like to address these concerns, particularly with regard to enhancing the end-user experience."
"I would like for them to work in real-time."
"While SWIFTnet FIN is a robust system, there is room for minor improvements in scalability and installation complexity."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Informatica Cloud Data Integration is famously known for its high price. The vendor targets large enterprises, and not medium or small companies. These large companies, and organizations, handle large amounts of data. If you go into any large bank, such as American or Canadian banks, these banks use this solution because it is more reliable, secure, and has more functionality."
"We saw an ROI. We have been able to get data from various sources and consolidate it into a data lake, which is helping us in data analytics."
"The price is comparable."
"I rate the product's pricing a five on a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive."
"I rate the product's price a seven on a scale of one to ten, where one is the cheapest and ten is the most expensive. The product is a bit expensive."
"Its pricing model can be improved."
"Informatica MDM is very expensive. Apart from licensing fees, they have broken down their products into multiple products, and they charge for each and every product. If the data is huge, they charge for the data. At times, we have to use third party services for data cleaning, and they charge for that as well."
"So, there are plans for licensing. There are subscription-based and usage-based licenses. Also, there are licenses for exceptional analytics, etc. In short, there are different models of licensing for every enterprise."
