Useful simulated attack database, high availability, but integration could improve
We are using Ixia BreakingPoint for security testing by generating traffic The most valuable feature of Ixia BreakingPoint is the ransomware and malware database for simulated attacks. The integration could improve in Ixia BreakingPoint. The vendor should provide a portal for webinars. I have…

Gains control over rule customization and achieves reliable vulnerability assessment
The deployment process took me about 2 or 3 hours to deploy SonarQube Server (formerly SonarQube), although I do not remember exactly since it was done about 2 years back. Currently, about 10 of my developers are using SonarQube Server (formerly SonarQube) in my company. I do not have plans to increase the usage of SonarQube Server (formerly SonarQube) in the future as there will not be any requirement to increase. I am a senior software engineer and supervisor at Mozark Medical. My corporate email address is karthik.k.a.r.t.h.i.k.h.a.r.p.a.n.h.a.l.l.i@mozarkmedical.com. Overall, I would rate SonarQube Server (formerly SonarQube) as a 9 out of 10.

"What Ixia BreakingPoint brings to the end customer is the use case."
"The solution has many protocols and options, making it very flexible."
"BPS VE evaluation was used for testing LTE Network elements with a focus on user plane testing BPS VE along with its UI and new concepts to reduce the complexity of manual testing to a large extent."

"The most valuable feature of Ixia BreakingPoint is the ransomware and malware database for simulated attacks."
"The DDoS testing module is useful and quick to use."
"The solution is stable."
"It's enabled us to improve software quality and help us to disseminate best practices."
"The most valuable feature is the security hotspot feature that identifies where your code is prone to have security issues."
"It provides you with many features, as it does with the premium model, but there are still extra features that can be purchased if needed."
"The product itself has a friendly UI."
"It's enabled us to improve software quality and help us to disseminate best practices."
"I follow Quality Gate's graduation model within organization, and it is extremely helpful for me to benchmark products."
"The solution has helped us mitigate problems in applications before they were a bigger issue."

Cons

"The solution originally was hard to configure; I'm not sure if they've updated this to make it simpler, but if not, it's something that could be streamlined."
"I would appreciate some preconfigured network neighborhoods, which are predefined settings for testing networks."
"The quality of the traffic generation could be improved with Ixia BreakingPoint, i.e. to get closer to being accurate in what a real user will do."
"The integration could improve in Ixia BreakingPoint."
"The flash GUI has room for improvement."
"The production traffic simulations are not realistic enough for some types of DDoS attacks."
"The quality of the traffic generation could be improved, to get closer to being accurate in what a real user would do."
"The price could be better."
"I don't believe you can have metrics of code quality based upon code analysis. I don't think it's possible for a computer to do it."
"Code security scanning could be improved."
"The Python code scan has so few rules that it is meaningless."
"This solution finds issues that are similar to what is found by Checkmarx, and it would be nice if the overlap could be eliminated."
"Technical support could be better. If we request support, it's a little bit delayed, and it's not consistent on email."
"You may need to purchase add-ons to get the useability you desire."
"There is no automation. You need to put the code there and test. You then pull the results and put them back in the development environment. There is no integration with the development environment. We would like it to be integrated with our development environment, which is basically the CI/CD pipeline or the IDE that we have."
"SonarQube is missing specific SAST capabilities."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We have a one year subscription license for $25,000 US Dollars."

"The solution is expensive."
"The price of the solution is expensive."
"While not extremely cheap, it aligns well with market standards and offers good value."
"We are using the community version of the solution and we plan on purchasing licenses for the upgraded version soon. There is a limitation on how many lines of code can be scanned and this is why we are going to purchase a license for an increased amount."
"We did not purchase a license (required for C++ support), but this option was considered."
"We are using the open-source community version, but there are enterprise licenses available."
"The price of this solution is more expensive than competitors. However, it works better than competitors."
"Some of the plugins that were previously free are not free now."
"SonarQube is a fairly affordable solution for a larger scale if you have a specific role or specific department for secure code."
"I am using the free version of the solution."
