Secure branch connectivity and automation have improved, but clustering and support still need work
I think Juniper SRX Series Firewall could be improved or enhanced because maybe a year or two ago, Juniper began producing new boxes such as SRX 1600, SRX 2300, and SRX 4300 and 4700, which are excellent products. They are only one unit high but have very good performance and a lot of different ports, supporting from 1 gig to 100 gig ports. Juniper also has series SRX 300, but it is an old firewall and not very powerful. I believe that maybe in a year, they will transition to another series, such as SRX 400. However, the functionality of Juniper SRX Series Firewall remains the same. The differences involve performance, quality, number of ports, and types of ports in different models of Juniper SRX Series Firewall.

Advanced GUI and layered security have supported compliance and simplified intrusion prevention
I haven't had a task that I couldn't solve with Stormshield Network Security. The active-active high availability solution would be beneficial because currently, if you build a high availability solution with Stormshield Network Security, you have a main device and another one is a backup device. The HA can switch between them, but it would be good to have a master-master solution, not just a master-slave one. I could set a URL that I can call to update the DNS record. Currently, Stormshield Network Security devices support DynDNS, which is not a usual feature request from a server environment. I have my own solution instead of DynDNS because I don't prefer it, so I have my own service for that. However, the GUI does not support using a custom service instead of DynDNS. I had to solve it in the console on Stormshield Network Security device, but it would be much better if it was reachable on the GUI. I had to figure out a trick for the IPsec configuration. In the IPsec config, we have to provide the remote side's IP address, but it's always changing. This means that an office, for example a company that has an office but without a fixed IP address, cannot be used with IPsec VPN.

Pros

"We think they have a good interface, the operating system is good, it's robust. It has plenty of great features, and the relation between the cost and benefits works for our business."
"Juniper SRX has helped in the financial success of our organization."
"You can scale the solution."
"We use the Juniper SRX as a perimeter firewall, data center firewall, and VPN concentrators to protect the data behind our switches, and it has a high security implementation with good stability, scalability, and high availability."
"The solution is stable, inexpensive, and works well for medium size companies."
"There are a lot of security features."
"I am 100% satisfied with the performance of the Juniper firewall."
"When compared to Palo Alto, Juniper is a better choice when it comes to the enterprise network and connectivity."
"The solution has improved my organization because I can see what traffic is happening and I can use it to block and prevent attacks."
"I feel we have more options with the Stormshield firewall and new features that we haven't previously had."
"The StormShield solution has enabled us to fully implement best practices from Microsoft in the cloud : the hub and spoke architecture."
"Stormshield is pretty robust, compared to other products like Fortinet, as you get more security with Stormshield and spend less money."
"I like that it works fine. Stormshield is a very good solution."
"The multi-layered security approach of Stormshield Network Security is a good one and has helped with compliance."
"Filters and URL filtering helped us to optimize our bandwidth."
"This solution is quick and easy to configure."

Cons

"Clustering fab interface doesn't support bandwidth aggregation. This limitation caused a huge design change in our network."
"It's unexpected that market support is very limited now, and SRX firewall will become obsolete and reach end-of-life."
"The user interface is something that Juniper needs to improve."
"Juniper SRX's UI is very bad."
"Juniper needs to focus more on their perimeter firewalls."
"The Juniper SRX product needs to improve in terms of innovation."
"The technical support has room for improvement."
"As a networking person, I don't really have any major issues with this device. Based on my experience of using it in a cluster, it could be more stable. I had an incident when one of the SRXs in a cluster couldn't learn ARP. It is a good solution, but firewalls don't seem to be an area of development for Juniper. They are focusing on data centers, routers, and switches, not firewalls."
"The biggest issue was their support department was not able to help us, then everything stops. This is a no-go area for me."
"The product must improve its pricing."
"The filtering configuration could be better. We have some difficulties with the filtering configuration and the filter extension."
"This is not a next-generation firewall."
"It could be better if it were more user-friendly for us as we dont use it very often even if we never had problems to modify setup when needed."
"With Stormshield, there are difficulties joining things, and it can be complex depending on the architecture."
"A more user-friendly interface would be helpful."
"The pricing is increasing, and I would say it is a bit expensive."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The direct support with Juniper is expensive. When you stop using the solution and miss one year of payments, if you want the support back on a specific node, they ask you to pay for the year that you haven't used the node."
"In my opinion, the Juniper SRX Series Firewall is cheaper than other products."
"In terms of pricing, Juniper is in the middle. The most expensive firewall is Palo Alto. If a customer wants the cheapest price they should go for FortiGate. Juniper is in between these products."
"I would say about $20,000 for a SRX650 with IDP licence."
"The price of this solution is more than other products, but it's stable, and the technical support is better than I have seen with others."
"The pricing is perhaps half, probably forty percent, of Cisco."
"When you consider performance, price, and features, maybe Juniper is not so cost-effective compared to other solutions like MikroTik."
"When we are in the deployment phase, we contact Juniper and they provide a budget-free code for our budgetary work."
"The pricing could be better."
"For mid-sized companies, they sell their appliances for good prices."
"The price of this solution and the price of support are ok."
"We chose Stormshield for its price, as the Azure firewall was too expensive."
"We bought a three-year license, and we renew it whenever it expires. The price could be better. It's always very expensive."
"I think the price is good."
"The SN200 series costs between $500 USD and $600 USD per year, whereas the SN700 series costs approximately $1,000 annually."
