Sentiment score
7.2
Splunk AppDynamics improved productivity, software quality, and customer satisfaction, offering significant operational benefits despite its cost.
It's very hard to find ROI because we are currently focused only on the on-premises applications.

Customer Service

Sentiment score
7.9
LogicMonitor's customer service is praised for fast responses, knowledgeable staff, 24/7 availability, and effective problem-solving, but varies by location.
Sentiment score
7.3
Splunk AppDynamics' customer service is responsive and customer-focused, though some users note delays and variable technical expertise.
We got a contact, an account manager, to work directly with for technical support.
AppDynamics is much more helpful.
The customer service and support are helpful and responsive.

Scalability Issues

Sentiment score
7.8
LogicMonitor scales efficiently for thousands of devices, offering automation, role-based access control, and seamless growth with minimal challenges.
Sentiment score
7.4
Splunk AppDynamics is scalable and suitable for enterprises, though some encounter configuration issues and licensing costs may impact perceptions.
We have reached maximum capacity in our tier, and extending capacity has not been cost-effective from Splunk's perspective.
We have tried it with a maximum of 500 concurrent users, and it provided all the required information.
I did not find any Docker solution available with it, and a separate instance has to be installed.

Stability Issues

Sentiment score
8.1
LogicMonitor is highly stable, with minimal downtime, strong alerting features, frequent updates, and high user satisfaction.
Sentiment score
7.7
Splunk AppDynamics is praised for stability and reliability, with minor issues efficiently resolved, ensuring user satisfaction across environments.
It is necessary to conduct appropriate testing before deploying them in production to prevent potential outages.
I can rate it nine out of ten.

Room For Improvement

LogicMonitor users seek enhanced monitoring customization, automation, reporting, performance monitoring, and improved alarm, topology, dashboards, and email alert features.
The Splunk AppDynamics UI is complex, lacking mobile support and integration ease, with network visibility and documentation issues.
Splunk AppDynamics does not support the complete MELT framework, which includes metrics, events, logging, and tracing for the entire stack.
If AppDynamics could develop a means to monitor without an agent, it could significantly improve application performance and reduce potential problems.
It is lacking some documentation, which is why we are always with the AppDynamics team for support to get the details.

Setup Cost

LogicMonitor offers competitive pricing at $7.75 per device, with discounts, and justifies its cost through robust functionality.
AppDynamics is costly but valuable, requiring careful assessment and negotiation for better pricing compared to alternatives like Dynatrace or Datadog.
All these solutions at the moment are cheap, but it is like paying for insurance; you pay insurance to avoid major damage.
We find its pricing reasonable and competitive.
Customers have to pay a premium price, however, they receive considerable value from the product.

Valuable Features

Dashboards provide interactive visualization, custom monitoring, robust reporting, and integration with alerts, Google Maps, NetFlow, and AI-driven anomaly detection.
Splunk AppDynamics users appreciate its easy interface and features for performance monitoring, real-time alerts, and detailed diagnostics.
I work with the AI-powered anomaly detection and root cause analysis for troubleshooting. Users can see the error and the message with the error on the dashboard, and they can see exactly what error they are encountering.
What I like the most about Splunk AppDynamics is the end-to-end observability for the application, along with traces.
The feature that I appreciate in AppDynamics Browser Real-User Monitoring is the intuitive and user-friendly dynamic mapping it creates for workflows.

They have an active community of users who are willing to share their experiences and how they have extended the solution to do unusual things.
I'm a learn-by-example person, so it would be nice to have a cookbook for enterprise management. They have a rich API process, but there aren't many examples of how to do enterprise-style work. It is peculiar about how to do it for one device, but not necessarily thousands. LogicMonitor can effortlessly pull data from one item at a time. I have yet to find an excellent way to get LogicMonitor to show me all the WAN devices and how they're doing in terms of capacity.

Dynamic mapping enhances workflows that are user-friendly
One aspect that requires improvement is the agent. Without an agent, gathering sufficient information on applications is challenging. Additionally, the agent sometimes creates performance issues in production environments. If AppDynamics could develop a means to monitor without an agent, it could significantly improve application performance and reduce potential problems. Moving to an agentless solution, like what some competitors are doing, would be beneficial.
