AI app builder has transformed internal tools and now empowers business teams to build workflows
The best features Lovable offers include natural language processing which converts it as a full app generation and full-stack development in one place. Lovable is designed to make app development feel simple for non-technical users; instead of coding, you just describe what you want, which makes non-technical users able to try out and test many things by themselves. There is minimal setup required, so you don't need to configure servers, databases manually, and backend, front end, and hosting are handled automatically, allowing you to start building immediately. The fast learning curve allows building apps in a few hours and making updates instantly while understanding how things work through visual feedback. Real-time editing lets you see what you want through your text, and Lovable is quite flexible, making it more powerful. Lovable has positively impacted our organization by significantly reducing development time and increasing productivity across teams, allowing us to deliver tools faster and improve responsiveness to business needs.

Has improved development quality and speed but has introduced persistent IDE slowdowns
In recent years, the IDE has been more buggy and slower, and although there have been more features added, I would like to see more stability, as some areas that used to work for a fairly long time are now slower in my development, which feels like a step back. I choose a seven mainly due to the issues we've faced with slowdowns and bugs during development, while runtime has been very stable, and the overall output on Mendix platform is still good; there is definitely some room for improvement, and I would probably have given it an eight or even a nine if those issues weren't hurting my developer output for the past few years. Overall, Mendix platform is stable, but the IDE could be better.

Pros

"Lovable has positively impacted our organization by significantly reducing development time and increasing productivity across teams, allowing us to deliver tools faster and improve responsiveness to business needs."
"The features that I have found most valuable with Mendix are its business process management and its minimal low code, both from an interface perspective and from a process perspective."
"The ability to deploy functionality daily, weekly, or monthly has greatly increased our competitive advantage in the market."
"Mendix is a good option for people looking for fast deployment and multiple device support with single code."
"Overall the platform is really good."
"Mendix has made a great deal of effort to provide its developers a healthy, modern environment for developing."
"Mendix has positively impacted our organization as we can construct or build prototypes easily, allowing us to do this in a short amount of time."
"It is a development platform which assists in accelerating your developmental lifecycle. This is one of its most valuable features. This solution also offers a good set of components that are readily available."
"There are free online learning and certifications if a user would like to learn more and better understand the solution."

Cons

"Lovable can be improved by having more predictable credit usage, as it uses a credit-based system where each action or prompt consumes credit depending on the complexity, which is one thing to consider while scaling because pricing will make a big impact."
"There are not enough developers who are using Mendix. The knowledge base available online and in the market is not as rich as other competitors."
"Overall, integration with the enterprise ecosystem needs improvement. I would like to see the inclusion of APIs that can help with the interoperability."
"Pricing: Development is free, but deploying applications in production requires a monthly fee, based on the amount of users."
"Mendix could improve in customization and UI, UX flexibility, native mobile development, and agile tooling for developers."
"The vendor should focus more on the opinion of the users and make improvements"
"Occasionally, there is downtime if an upgrade is happening in the application."
"Mendix is slightly less scalable than I'd like."
"Since it's low-code, I would like Mendix to be web-based, so we shouldn't need to install Mendix to create an app."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"Mendix seems a bit expensive. But in terms of wanting to have less developers and higher velocity, the total cost of ownership is fine. It's not cheap, though."
"Mendix is not open source, but its license cost is cheap, particularly when compared to the Appian license. The license model would depend on how many users you have and how many applications you are creating. If you are creating a single app, you just need to have a single app license, so it's free. If you want a multiple app license to cover two thousand or three thousand users, for example, internal users or external users, then you need to pay for the license. There's also a license model for above three thousand or four thousand, or five thousand internal and external users."
"Its cost is higher than competitors. The cost mostly includes licensing. It is charged per user. The cost model could be better. When you have a big company, what does per user mean? If I have a company where I have 40,000 people who will go to access it but only 200 do, how do you license it and who do you pay for? If they hit it once, do you pay for it? The licensing is complex for a big company. It is easy for us to buy all we can eat, get an enterprise license agreement, and call it good."
"There is a license required to use Mendix. The solution's price is high, but it is best suited for enterprise companies that have the budget. It is not for small or medium-sized businesses."
"Licensing costs are similar to those for all other IT technology, but they vary by region."
"Mendix licensing cost is based on the number of apps you have on the server. At the basic level, it is free of charge, so that seems reasonable, but once you go beyond that, and when it comes to the number of users on the app, that basic structure doesn't work, and the pricing tends to get a little bit steep."
"I would not recommend the solution to small and medium-sized businesses because it’s expensive. It’s great for big organizations. I rate the pricing as a three out of ten."
"Initially, we started with a year for approximately $25,000, and if we need to expand the number of seats then we will increase it."
