Efficient log management enhances activity monitoring despite VPN user issue
Last month, we faced an issue with a Hawaiian VPN user activity. It's like a Fortinet device configured for VPN users. When a VPN user logs in, it doesn't really capture the time before this. If you're testing with existing or new device integration, then the product will be good in the market.

Integration shines but threat detection and technical support need attention
Regarding threat detection capabilities, I think OpenText Enterprise Security Manager covers the MITRE ATT&CK framework at an average level, and on a scale of one to ten, I would rate it only five. They have to improve in those areas in terms of threat detection capabilities. For ArcSight, they need to give the complete package, with UBA being part of that. They have added it, but I question what capabilities are there, especially on the SOAR side where they have to improve because the SIEM was very strong. For the SOAR side, because SIEM was very strong when they were earlier launched, but for SOAR, they were integrating with third-party solutions initially, and then they built the capability. They have acquired some company, but it is not up to that potential. They slowly and gradually lost that ground to Splunk, QRadar, and other companies, so when anybody talks about the full capabilities, they are not thinking about Micro Focus as of now. I would desire additional features in OpenText Enterprise Security Manager, especially on the SOAR side, and maybe on the UBA side, as threats intel and all, which are part of bundled solutions. Those are the areas they have to improve so that customers can trust and enhance those things, and maybe the customers will feel they should go for this product. As of now, if we are evaluating our own scenario, we are not even thinking about it. Earlier, that was not the scenario when they were selling this SIEM solution in the market; everybody was thinking OpenText was the default option, but now, if you're looking for a complete solution stack, nobody is even considering it.

"The reporting features are noteworthy, as they provide templates that streamline the process of generating reports"
"ManageEngine EventLog Analyzer is useful for log and alert correlation and is a full-function SIEM solution."
"ManageEngine EventLog Analyzer was a lower-cost alternative, and it was easier to install and manage."
"The support system is very good."

"ArcSight is better than them all when it comes to filtering, normalization, aggregation, dashboards, reporting and correlation, multi-tenancy and custom devices support."
"I would rate the ease of use for new users an eight out of ten, with ten being easy to use. It is a good tool."
"ArcSight helps to track all configuration changes and correlates with corresponding service tickets, helping a lot in auditing system and network admins with minimal time and cost."
"Before we would have to have a large number of staff to be able to go in and do consulting opportunities, to mitigate and remediate security intrusions on given clients, now using ArcSight, albeit there may be a capital upfront cost to buy the software product, it enables us to speed our time to resolution."
"It is a vital tool for live monitoring and helps us to understand the traffic alerts of any major issue on the network, thereby reducing hacking attempts."
"It prevented my users from getting infected by ransomware. It can also pinpoint the story behind every virus or network attack to our environment."

"This product has helped us and our customer for monitoring the security of different applications as well as different hardware devices."

Cons

"I would like to see more detailed reports."
"There isn't good security integration when it comes to cybersecurity. The correlation of logs isn't so simple."
"Support could improve to make the solution better."
"What I'd like to see as an improvement to ManageEngine EventLog Analyzer is for it to be more AI-driven. Having more automation would also make the solution better."
"The solution is stable. However, there are limits. For example, we can do 2,500 Syslog events per second, but if we want to do more we have to install the distributor structure, and then we can expand how many events we can do."
"It may not be as easy to use as Splunk."
"The solution should improve on its log capturing capabilities."
"Last month, we faced an issue with a Hawaiian VPN user activity. It's like a Fortinet device configured for VPN users."
"I rate ArcSight three out of 10. I would never recommend it."
"There are several improvements that we would like to see, including: Building a system based on a log collection (SOC), a scenario for external encroachment, and Operator training."
"It's very expensive in its licensing model."
"I would like to have a feature that gives us an entire report listing what devices are integrated."
"Micro Focus does not have a physical presence here in Pakistan, although IBM does."
"The weakness in this system comes about because, with so many different logs, it is possible that the security analyst will lose information."
"The customer experience could be improved."
"Its search part can be improved. When I go to the console and search for a few logs or something else, it takes a lot of time."

"ArcSight is pretty expensive compared with its competitors. I believe that is fine as it provides value."
