Have faced challenges in getting timely responses but have managed to streamline workflows and reduce infrastructure costs
My current company was not using any products apart from AMQ. I suggested it to them, which is why they started using it. I also suggested it to the customer. The feedback for Red Hat AMQ has been good. Based on this, we suggest it to our customers, and they are happy using that product. Our big customer, FedEx, which is one of the best and biggest giants in logistics and courier, started using it and they are happy with that. The base operating system, RHEL 8 and 9, is being used across the infrastructure. The server and critical applications and data are running on Red Hat 8 and 9. We are performing proper maintenance of the OS and it is working fantastically. We have not received any issues or complaints. Our domains include Human Gateway, pharmaceuticals, and automobile clients. The critical application is running on Microsoft Azure DevOps Server. When developers send code to us, we create the CI/CD pipeline and schedule jobs. The solution provides time savings and infrastructure savings. Multiple virtual machines are not required when installing applications in containerization, which saves infrastructure costs. We receive notifications about CPU, memory, and disk space utilization from time to time.

Very flexible with Johnny-on-the-spot tech support
I would like to see them enable parallel development for online. It's available now for batch stuff on the mainframe. Jenkins, IBM, and Rocket all supposedly already have safe and workable version of Git for the mainframe. With that in mind, we need to know where our feature is. Unfortunately, as good as ChangeMan is, if we're listing downfalls, they should be talking to me about this. Not me having to go talk to them about it. Hopefully, they have this in the works and they are positioning their product for the future. That's just a straightforward comment. It really comes down to whether they are complacent or not. The other thing that should improve is cost. Git, even on the mainframe, a large part of the components "free". They're the way you set them up yourselves and they're self-sustaining and built into the infrastructure. You can't charge me for that. I gave ChangeMan an overall score of eight, but what could drive them to a nine is coming up with a way for all my code that belongs together to be tracked and moved together. Everything should move based upon the mainframe; it needs to be alerted and synchronized.

Pros

"In summary, this is a good product that is straightforward, easy to use, and manages well."
"What I like most is that it is a very comprehensive product."
"Microsoft Azure DevOps Server is a go-to product because it has everything in one place for project management, delivery, code, and similar functionalities."
"Microsoft Azure DevOps Server is a go-to product because it has everything in one place for project management, delivery, code, and similar functionalities."
"The product is efficient."
"For the project management side, I am using Microsoft Azure DevOps Server, it does its job well, and I don't see any drawbacks."
"I work with Microsoft and understand what they are trying to do; it really helps."
"What I like about this solution is that you have Source control that enables you to organize and track the production so that you know where you are in the development phase and so on."
"What’s most valuable to me is the ability to compile the code and move it through the test and productions environments."
"Scalability is great; it has absolutely met every need for us so far, and we do have some concurrent development paths where we're able to flexibly assign variables while our skeletons assemble where we want them to, so the scalability is very good."
"We audit once a year for our ChangeMan access, accurate financial programs, and all of that. Auditors really love ChangeMan for how easy it is to get through and how tight the security is on it. Our internal auditors, external auditors, and SOX editors love this solution. We're in the healthcare business, so HIPAA regulations and all such things are a big deal, and this makes all that really simple."

Cons

"When you go into the front-end, the web portal, if, for example, you pick up an issue, it would be ideal if the branch was automatically created in the repository. Right now, this isn't the case."
"Sometimes it gets tough when you're dealing with a larger process if you're accessing it through the VPN. If you're not on the local network, you're accessing through the VPN, which already makes it slower in general, and then on top of that, if you're accessing a really large process, you're going to feel it slow down even more."
"The product should be priced better."
"I cannot comment on how I rate Microsoft Azure DevOps Server solution; I'm working in a small part of it and don't have enough experience."
"I would like to see the inclusion of more programming languages, especially better support for Java."
"The tool's subscriptions are expensive for medium and small businesses. It works fine on Windows. However, it is not stable on other platforms."
"I have seen customizations with Team System that allowed it to integrate into other ticketing systems like Jira, which would be a really nice feature to see."
"Price is a concern, though we are currently managing."
"I would like to see them enable parallel development for online. It's available now for batch stuff on the mainframe."

"I would like to see a better search tool."
"As such, there's nothing wrong with the product. It is great, but there are small things that can be better to make it much more friendly. The way you navigate through fields can be improved. If I'm going to stage a component over something that exists and that I've created in another library, and I want to pull it in and write it over what I've got there in my package, I've got to type in that data set name every time. That can be aggravating. It is not a big deal. The way things are sorted can also be improved. If you're doing a delete of a bunch of components, you can't sort those out by type or anything. Some things are just standard, and you can't look at them in a way that would be helpful."
"Their technical support is not so good. To be perfectly honest, that's one of the reasons we were looking at other solutions."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is an open-source product from Microsoft."
"You can choose pricing from a variety of options. I would rate the product's pricing a six out of ten."
"There is no fee for the solution's community version."
"The price could be better."
"The tool's licensing costs are yearly."
"It's on a yearly basis. I am not aware of any additional costs."
