Review summaries and opinions

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

ROI

Sentiment score
7.2
Organizations experience up to 70% savings, improved performance, flexibility, and high productivity using Microsoft Azure, despite data cost concerns.
Sentiment score
7.5
Nutanix Cloud Clusters improve reliability, reduce costs up to 30%, lower CAPEX, increase OPEX, and enhance Disaster Recovery efficiency.
I would say our total cost of ownership has been reduced by approximately 30% to 50%.
Our CAPEX is lower since the environment is elastic.
My biggest return on investment comes from the fact that not enough companies invest in DR, focusing instead on production, despite the inevitability of disasters.

Customer Service

Sentiment score
6.5
Microsoft Azure's support is responsive and knowledgeable, but response times and efficiency vary based on support tiers and contracts.
Sentiment score
7.5
Nutanix Cloud Clusters' support is praised for expertise and responsiveness, with occasional slow responses and improvement needed in engineering analysis.
The people I get are intelligent and know how to fix the issue the first time I call them, so it's been great.
The customer service and technical support have been very helpful; they jump on calls with us and stay engaged until any issues are resolved.
Customer service and technical support are definitely shining stars for Nutanix.

Scalability Issues

Sentiment score
7.8
Nutanix Cloud Clusters offers scalable integration and adaptability, accommodating extensive workloads but may involve cost and setup considerations.
Scalability with Microsoft Azure is amazing, which is a primary reason for using cloud solutions.
During builds, it was very scalable, and adding or removing nodes was far quicker than if we were to do that on-prem in our own data center.
Nutanix Cloud Clusters (NC2) scales amazingly with the growing needs of our company.
We recently expanded scalability, and by default, we run three nodes on Nutanix Cloud Clusters (NC2), expanding it up to eight or ten, which took about 45 minutes to an hour.

Stability Issues

Microsoft Azure is highly regarded for its stability and reliability, despite occasional minor issues, making it a preferred choice.
Sentiment score
8.0
Nutanix Cloud Clusters (NC2) are praised for stability, reliability, high uptime, adaptability, and responsive technical support, enhancing user satisfaction.
Microsoft Azure is quite stable, but recent outages and security issues have slightly decreased my confidence.
The stability and reliability of Nutanix Cloud Clusters (NC2) are commendable.
Since upgrading a few months ago, I haven't seen many alerts.
I've had good success with Nutanix Cloud Clusters (NC2) regarding reliability and stability, as our newer nodes have not had any issues.

Room For Improvement

Microsoft Azure users face challenges with pricing, compatibility, documentation, user interface, integration, security, scaling, support, and localization.
Nutanix Cloud Clusters need improved pricing, networking, usability, scalability, support, migration flexibility, and better sync tools.
Recent outages and security issues are also a concern, causing a decrease in confidence, especially when partnering with third-party companies.
Engineering could aim for a look and feel closer to on-prem, making it easier for newer users.
Some use cases, particularly around incrementally spinning up workloads, haven't been considered closely enough.
Nutanix Cloud Clusters (NC2) could be improved with some more tools that could help synchronize on-prem and cloud stuff better.

Setup Cost

Microsoft Azure's pricing models offer cost-effectiveness and flexibility, though complexity and unpredictability remain challenges for some users.
Nutanix Cloud Clusters pricing is viewed as high but valued for flexibility, portability, and cost-effective migration options.
Microsoft solutions might be cheaper than some services like AWS, but some solutions may be more expensive depending on the services compared.
For us, the pricing and costs have been fair.
We've had no issues with pricing.
My experience with the pricing, setup costs, and licensing has been that it was a good package for us.

Valuable Features

Microsoft Azure offers flexibility, scalability, ease of use, high availability, security, and efficient deployment with its pay-as-you-go model.
Nutanix Cloud Clusters excel in scalability, cost management, and seamless integration, supporting critical workloads with flexibility and efficient resource use.
Power BI, another feature of Azure, is extremely elegant and has robust features that support forecasting using R and Python.
We used to have a light-for-light kind of build-out in another data center in a different location. Now, we can pare that down to just a couple of nodes and know that we can burst it out when we need to.
Nutanix's license portability is a very valuable tool for us because we were building our own data center, so we've bought on-prem licenses and then utilize that for Nutanix Cloud Clusters (NC2).
The most valued feature of Nutanix Cloud Clusters (NC2) is its scalability.

Promotes clear, logical structures preventing impractical configurations and offers seamless integration
The only thing is regarding the management of multi-cloud environments. That's not really possible. So basically, it's wonderful if you manage Microsoft clearly and if you manage Microsoft Azure, but if you need to consume external services and have a global overview of all your consumption, it's not the case. Google, for instance, has tools that help you manage multiple environments, which makes sense because Google is really the cloud provider. So that's why they need to be compliant with the others. But for sure, Microsoft's approach is different, and it's wonderful when you're one hundred percent on Azure. But if you'd like to have something more of a multi-cloud strategy, that's a bit of a gap where they could improve.
