Data protection improves while users adapt to user access complexities
Recovery options are useful with Microsoft BitLocker. When we get the recovery key from Microsoft, people who we show how BitLocker works did not know the facts about BitLocker. When we tell them about recovery keys, it is very difficult for them to get to the users who have issues in their PCs and do not have the knowledge. When IT asked about the scenario, it was difficult for them. They needed something where they could go to the administration portal to unlock the PC for the user, but we tell them that when a user asks for a recovery key, it consists of 32 numbers to unlock their PC. They observed cost savings after implementing Microsoft BitLocker because they requested BitLocker with System Center. They found that it did not have a high cost, as it is a built-in feature in Windows. When they asked about other solutions, it was very expensive for large numbers in other corporates or organizations. They were very satisfied with Microsoft BitLocker with System Center Configuration Manager.

A backup solution that offers very good integration at a good price
We primarily use the solution as a backup for our entire environment.  The integration features are the most valuable. The integration is specific to each solution. It works well with SQL and Oracle databases and so on. On the exchange server, you do not have the best options for adjusting your…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Microsoft BitLocker is a Microsoft native product that provides good encryption."
"The solution works the way it's supposed to - stability and scalability are fine."
"The tool has improved the starting up of our notebooks and end-user devices."
"I like the simplicity and ease of use of this solution."
"The product is stable."
"The ease of use is the most valuable feature. The ability to import data to build your frontend on top of the data is very simple and very useable."
"After the Microsoft BitLocker Administration and Monitoring (MBAM) implementation, in such cases, any unauthorised person will not be able to access the data."
"Technical support is excellent."
"The integration features are the most valuable. The integration is specific to each solution. It works well with SQL and Oracle databases and so on."
"The integration features are the most valuable, as the integration is specific to each solution and works well with SQL and Oracle databases and so on."
"Technical support is top-notch."

Cons

"They could improve cloud integration regarding attribute and encryption key management."
"We recently found some stability issues with Microsoft BitLocker."
"At the end of it all, we are looking for something that can be easier to manage."
"If integration with Active Directory is not mandatory for him, I think that there are many other solutions in the market that equal or are much stronger than Microsoft."
"There are options which could be implemented to make it a little more like PGP Whole Disk Encryption."
"For improvement, as it is now, I do not have any support from anyone. There should be a web interface to manage BitLocker. But for now, all I do is just install a new product on the user's machine and create it. I would like to be able to see everything that is happening, even if it is just through a web interface. I would also like to be able to see how many users are provisioned, which users are using BitLocker, and how to disable or enable it. That's what I would like to see."
"I felt it was too expensive for the service that I required."
"It needs a management console."
"Nonetheless, one thing they could do better on is knowledge and education about it."
"On the exchange server, you do not have the best options for adjusting your mailbox. This feature is not included. Also, disaster recovery backups can be improved. Some other solutions, such as HP Data Protector, have more features."
"On the exchange server, you do not have the best options for adjusting your mailbox. This feature is not included."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We can activate the product at no cost."
"The solution is priced low. I would rate the product's pricing one out of ten."
"It's not about pricing, because we are working with Enterprise companies that already have Windows Enterprise, so BitLocker comes already included as a Windows feature. It's free for Enterprise users. The price is only for deployment. The customer will pay for McAfee, however."
"This solution is included with Microsoft Server and my clients did not have to pay for anything extra."
"The product's cost is included in Windows."
"It is free. It is enabled as part of the operating system. Once you have an operating system license, you're licensed for Bitlocker."
"For reasons unknown, Microsoft products seem to be getting more expensive."
"The solution is expensive."
