Provides end-to-end accounting and finance module at reasonable pricing
365 Business Central integrates with Office 365 to streamline the invoice approval process. This allows businesses to manage and approve invoices efficiently within a unified system. Our organization plans to transition to the Dynamics 365 environment, where various functions will be centralized. We will consolidate everything into one system instead of maintaining multiple databases for each country with local data. Dynamics 365 is fully integrated, which should address many of our challenges when we migrate to this new environment. We look forward to seeing how it performs in practice. The project is progressing well overall, though integrating it with other tools and ensuring Dynamics 365 operates smoothly can be challenging. Dynamics 365 is user-friendly and effective. However, a deeper understanding of its technical capabilities and architecture might be necessary to optimize its use fully. The software landscape is evolving, and achieving the best reporting and functionality with just a click can be complex. A clear vision of what you want to achieve with Dynamics 365 is essential. Proper preparation and configuration are crucial to achieving the desired outcomes. This principle applies not only to Dynamics 365 but to all software packages. Understanding the system's flexibility and adaptability based on your specific business needs is key to its successful implementation. Overall, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.

Centralizes our enterprise-wide functions but could benefit from cloud migration
We have dealt with customer service, and it was awful. For a system this size, it felt like we were merely buying software from them. They weren't really partnered with us on it. Reporting bugs and getting feedback, as well as having engineers work on issues, was very transactional. There was no real ownership on Oracle's part. During several support cases, it became difficult to determine ownership at Oracle and get status updates. The on-premises Oracle support is not great in my experience, and I think this is true in the industry. We've read about their software as a solution, and theoretically, their SaaS portal support is a lot better.

Pros

"We use Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central as CRM."

"The vertical covers all aspects of functionality and integrates easily with the existing Office products."
"The solution can scale."
"Microsoft Dynamics NAV is brilliant and it's a different segment when comparing it with Dynamics AX. Dynamics AX is a larger product with much more features and it's aimed at a different segment of the market."
"The solution's integration between Teams, SharePoint, and Exchange Online is really helpful."
"The most valuable features of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central are the dashboards, ease of use, and flexibility."
"Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is extremely stable as it does not rely on our in-house servers."
"The on-premise is very similar to the cloud version."
"Oracle E-Business Suite improves forecast accuracy, reduces costs, and increases manufacturing capacity."
"The most valuable features are the financial-related capabilities."
"Very flexible in terms of configurations and it's capable of integrations."
"It is a very stable solution."
"The technical ability to run runtime APIs is great."
"The most valuable features of Oracle E-Business Suite are all the 15 to 20 modules. We use them on a day-to-day basis."
"I like that one system covers everything."

Cons

"In the next release, I would like to see a quality check module - Navision doesn't have one, and the industry very much requires it."
"I would like a more modular and user-friendly interface."
"One aspect that could be improved in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is the visibility and accessibility of communication-related features, such as email integration."
"The solution is stable, but it could improve."
"There is a need for improvement in consolidation and multi-country master data management."
"Customer service and support are mixed. Sometimes the support is quick, but other times it is very slow."
"The initial setup of the solution was quite complex and the troubleshooting involved with that needs to be improved."
"The configuration packages can be somewhat tiresome at times, and they can be slow when loading data."
"In SAP, when customization or work is done in an instance, it can be automatically copied to the production instance. Such automation would be a very good future addition to Oracle."
"Oracle has improved a lot because Oracle E-Business Suite is quite outdated. Oracle built the Oracle Fusion platform and it has many improved processes. We registered a few enhancements requests, but it's a very long bureaucratic process with Oracle. It doesn't make any sense to communicate with Oracle about what changes should be made to the system."
"Oracle E-Business Suite uses an old technology (Forms), which is Java-based."
"They should have a nicer way to handle very high volumes of data because we deal with really high volumes, and sometimes, we end up with performance issues."
"If you get away from the financials core of the product, it is not so good at handling peripherals."
"It's more expensive than other options due to licensing costs and core-based hardware."
"Oracle E-Business Suite is a bit outdated because it's been developed more than ten years ago, and this is an area for improvement. My team is still getting used to the solution, so there could still be some features that have not been enabled or features my team isn't aware of yet. There have been issues with the Treasury module of Oracle E-Business Suite, so this is another area for improvement. My company hasn't decided yet on whether to implement the Treasury module or just go with another solution. Another room for improvement in Oracle E-Business Suite is the design, as it needs to be optimized based on usage patterns. What I'd like added in the next release of Oracle E-Business Suite is the time attribute. The solution still has dashboards being rolled out, so the time attribute could already be there or is still in the process of implementation. I also didn't find much use for the Projects module based on my company's requirements. The integration of Oracle E-Business Suite with the rest of the Oracle tools isn't very tight as well, but it could be because of customizations here in India, where the integrations work seamlessly everywhere, except in India. You'll find gaps because of customizations in India which are very, very irritating. For example, if a procurement is moving in the system then all the data has to move from one module to the other, but in the Oracle E-Business Suite Procurement module, you'll notice breaks or gaps that require you to manually transfer that data, so I'd like this improved in the next release of the solution."
"We don't like Oracle EBS because it is very old. Nowadays, all the systems are on the cloud and web-based. With Oracle EBS, you need a huge setup before installing it. You need a lot of servers. There are a lot of problems and bugs in the system. We have to move from Oracle EBS to another system. In terms of improvements, it can have better training for end users and better support."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The on-premises model of Dynamics NAV is very expensive, hence our plan to migrate to Dynamics 365 Business Central, which appears to fit our needs better in terms of pricing. Compared to competitors, the cloud version of Dynamics is in the middle; not too high and not too low."
"The first time we tried to buy the newest version, it was expensive."
"Business Central charges a monthly fee of $70 to $100 per user."
"$80-$100 per license, per month."
"The solution is a little bit expensive."
"Microsoft Dynamics NAV has a pay-as-you-use payment model."
"We have a perpetual license to use Microsoft Dynamics NAV."
"The cost is one of the benefits. If you don't want to go for the full-blown finance and operations, the pricing model is a lot cheaper and has now switched to being based on a per-user subscription. So, if it's on cloud, you now have an expense instead of a large CapEx. If it's on-prem, you obviously still have to continue with the licensing model that they have, but if you compare the features and functionality, in terms of the price that you pay, I find it's better than other products. My answer on the pricing would be slightly different, depending on the country you're in and the return on investment, based on the size of the company. It's well-priced internationally. I think the new model is priced even better because it's now subscription-based and, if you go for cloud, the return on investment is a lot quicker and if it's expense, you can cap it. If you do take the on-prem version, the licensing is still priced as what it used to be, so that would depend on what country you are in."
"It costs too much."
"The pricing of the solution is at about $700-$750 per year."
"Oracle E-Business Suite is cheaper than SAP. It is expensive."
"The price of the solution is extremely high."
"E-Business Suite's pricing could be lower."
"Oracle scales the pricing, but E-Business Suite is still very expensive for small to mid-sized businesses."
"Oracle's licenses are not straightforward."
"At the time of purchasing the license the price was reasonable."
