Document processing has accelerated contract reviews and enabled rapid development of AI-driven supply chain solutions
With regard to security, compliance, or governance features in Azure AI Foundry, this is something that we have started looking into, primarily using Microsoft Purview for our governance, data governance. There is this new module called DSPM for AI, and we are exploring it while trying to operationalize it with different policies and so forth, but we're still not where we want to be on the governance, AI governance side. It's a process and a path, and we are trying to work through that right now. Azure AI Foundry can be improved from the governance perspective, as a lot can be done. The promising part is the recent announcement on the Foundry control plane. A couple of days back, there was an announcement regarding it bringing in some of the gaps that were on the platform, so it's a really positive direction in terms of where it's going. More governance is what is lacking, but the control plane will really play a big role there.

Helpful dashboard, supports offline capabilities for SAP, professional support, and a simple pricing model
I believe that this is the only product in the market that truly supports offline capabilities in an SAP environment. We have people going through all of their shifts without connectivity, yet it automatically later synchronizes well with SAP, without creating extra documents or anything like that. The ability to take ABAP code and automatically convert it to a mobile app and then adjust it to our needs is something that I haven't seen in any other low-code solution on the market, and it has been life-changing for us. I love how easy it is to manage the design of the process using drag and drop. I know they are working to make the developer experience even better, and I'm very excited about it. The modernizer element that converts existing ABAP business logic to the cloud-native mobile-friendly solution is a very powerful tool that I haven't seen in the market.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"With the introduction of Microsoft Foundry and the models and the flexibility, I think it has been a simple plug and play or no-code, low-code kind of feasibility which a developer is getting."
"It is flexible, it is scalable, and it is a solid product, and that is the advice I would give to others looking into using Microsoft Foundry."
"Azure AI Foundry makes it very straightforward, as I do not have to write thousands of lines of code; I rely on GitHub Copilot and Azure AI Foundry."
"The most beneficial feature of Azure AI Foundry for enhancing customer experience is the ability to use Azure Functions to call things outside of Azure AI Foundry, making it more comprehensive as a feature."
"The feature of Azure AI Foundry that I prefer most is the guardrails, as it is much easier than the one that Bedrock in AWS provides."
"The features of Azure AI Foundry that I appreciate the most include the containment of all the agents and the ability to see all agents in a single dashboard and to have access to all of them from one portal."
"Azure AI Foundry has affected our management of privacy, performance, and compliance primarily based on our location in the UK, where it is more focused on the region in terms of where that data is being processed and who has access to it, which is hopefully no one other than us."
"Azure AI Foundry has helped reduce the time taken for AI app and agent development cycles by approximately 50% for one use case."
"The ability to take ABAP code and automatically convert it to a mobile app and then adjust it to our needs is something that I haven't seen in any other low-code solution on the market, and it has been life-changing for us."
"I love how they took the MIT Scratch concept and implemented it into the in-app backend. It makes the app creation so much more intuitive and easy to use."
"Since you only pay for active users, and since it gives you an immediate improvement in efficiencies, the ROI is very quick."
"I believe that this is the only product in the market that truly supports offline capabilities in an SAP environment."

Cons

"I would evaluate customer service and technical support as terrible. Whenever I have to reach out to customer support, I end up waiting sometimes days for a response, and our 24-hour response time often turns into three to five days."
"Right now, because of the UI and the complexity of it, it is complicated and cumbersome, and I think figuring out how to simplify that would probably make it a faster process."
"I do see some disadvantages that could be improved. The document management side of it needs work."
"My experience with Azure AI Foundry's pricing, setup cost, and licensing was a mess."
"On a very common end or whatever is available on the basic pricing, I think Microsoft tools are priced on a higher side compared to its competitors."
"Even though I have only been utilizing Azure AI Foundry for the past four months, I think the understanding between Copilot Studio and Azure AI Foundry is still somewhat unclear regarding which one to use when and why, and how they complement each other is a journey we are currently undertaking."
"The enterprise setup and capacity frustrations are areas where Microsoft Foundry can be improved."
"I find that the online documentation can sometimes be confusing, requiring extensive searching through multiple articles to locate specific information."
"The modernizer element should convert a higher percentage of the ABAP code, moving it from approximately 75%, closer to 100%."
"While we're not in a place of letting LOB analysts build apps, at some point, we may want to give them a bit more freedom - as long as we can limit their ability to harm the ERP data. I would like to see more tools pertaining to this area."
