Enables management of multiple operating systems with a single license
The best feature is that it's a Microsoft product, so if anything goes wrong, we get quick support for anything required. Remote system functionality allows us to sit anywhere and take control of any device via remote management. We can enhance security for clients' laptops with built-in Microsoft Defender, which is available with the Microsoft Intune license. We use it for reporting purposes through endpoint analytics. When pushing scripting, there are two types available: remediation script and reservation script. Through endpoint analytics, you can push defender policies to clients. It helps with reporting, inventory updates, and monitoring tenant status health.

Migration streamlines processes while real-time monitoring opportunities remain
The migration feature of vCenter Configuration Manager is the most loved feature so far. This particular feature is valuable because it is vendor-oriented and works with VMware, which makes your life easy. Regarding system reliability, it is helpful. When you design it for the process, it will help you minimize the downtime, and it will help the reliability of the system. vCenter Configuration Manager has impacted my organization positively, but it's not fully deployed yet; we only use it for one or two tasks, and our team goes back to using the vCenter itself. However, further on, maybe we'll find a use case that will help us use the configuration manager.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We are using the mobile feature, and we are also using MDM to lock the devices, to push restrictions, et cetera"
"Maturity makes it a stable product."
"We handle the distribution software, collect metrics for app usage, and create policies to make the device compliant for Microsoft Intune."
"Microsoft Intune benefits my company because of its simplicity of use and cross-functional integration."
"The solution is easy to use."
"The most valuable feature is that we can manage workstations or Android devices remotely without needing the device to be connected to our local network."
"The most valuable features in Microsoft Intune for me are application deployment, Defender deployment, and asset management."
"Intune's most valuable features are its device management capabilities, particularly its centralized integration with other Microsoft stack components."
"The most valuable feature of vCenter Configuration Manager is the ease of provisioning."
"vCenter alone is enough for me because vCenter is a cluster environment and cluster solution for virtualization environments."
"The solution is excellent at automating processes."
"The feature that I have found most valuable is the virtual machine management across different hosts, located in different areas."
"The interface is very user-friendly and the solution is simple to use."
"vCenter Configuration Manager is the best tool for centrally managing resources"
"We can scale the solution as needed."
"I would rate the scalability quite good. You can extend your environment effectively with appropriate investment."

Cons

"Integrating certain group policies can be challenging and may necessitate using on-premises systems to integrate them with Microsoft Intune."
"Intune could add more features that are relevant to the core application control functions. For example, it would be helpful if it had more control over the on-prem environment from the cloud platform. Greater Teams availability in the Saudi market would also be helpful."
"The configuration and pricing can be improved."
"It could offer more attributes for authentication."
"Due to the abundance of features, there's a lot to organize, which makes managing and setting up the solution challenging. The setup is immense, and it would be good to see improvement in this area."
"The policies we had in SCCM and AD offered features that are missing from Microsoft Intune."
"I am not involved in the day-to-day with Intune, but we have gone with a different product for updating mobile device software. We do not integrate many of our mobile devices that are not Microsoft-based devices, such as Dell laptops, with Intune."
"Technical support is not that great."
"It is not so user-friendly that you can just start the host and everything works."
"SAP CRM could improve by adding additional automation features."
"Occasionally, we encounter issues with updates regarding failing or losing configuration information for the product."
"The tool needs to improve its interface."
"The product's high price is an area with certain shortcomings where improvements are required."
"It would be better to integrate this infrastructure with native cloud environments, but we can't do it. We are trying to improve our experience by converting our infrastructure through virtualization on native cloud environments and workloads."
"We would like to improve the UI interface and customer experience in vCenter Configuration Manager. We need a speed-based system, which is methodology checked. The migration functions, from one hardware to another and the nodes must be a partner of four nodes, which acts as a weakness. They should have advanced training and course material for vCenter solutions."
"The solution could provide even more capacity."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Intune is inexpensive. It also comes bundled in some Office 365 licenses, so you can choose to purchase it separately or as a package."
"Pricing depends on the features. Microsoft offers special packages if there are more than 10,000 users, and you may be able to get a reduced rate."
"Intune is included with our F3 and E5 licenses."
"It's monthly for us, but it's built into the license cost that we pay our IT each month. It's maybe 129 Kroner per head, which translates to £10. There are some additional costs. Our IT had to set up and configure their own server, so there is an extra cost for that, but I'm not sure what that costs."
"Pricing can be improved."
"For Microsoft 365 E5 clients, cost is not an issue as this product is one of the benefits."
"Microsoft Intune is not cost-effective as a standalone product."
"Microsoft Intune's costliness stems from licensing fees and the overhead associated with its management, user experience, and device remediation."
"The product is highly-priced."
"Price-wise, the product is an affordable one. The additional expenses, apart from the licensing costs of the solution, are attached to the support a user wants to receive from vCenter Configuration Manager's end."
"While the pricing is reasonable for large corporations, it presents a substantial financial challenge for medium-sized businesses."
"vCenter's pricing is reasonable, but nowadays, they are drastically increasing their prices, which is pathetic."
"It is an expensive product."
"The price of the solution is expensive. However, it is reasonably priced compared to competitors."
"The pricing is mid-range so I rate it a six out of ten."
"The solution comes with three-year support. We have to renew the support annually after the three years are up."
