Offers great control and visibility to users, along with availability on the cloud
The other solutions did not offer the visibility that Mojo Networks offered. During the rolling out of the installation process, you have to go through the on-premises model to be able to make some changes. If somebody needs to make necessary changes, you must go to the on-premises model with the initial product. With the cloud solution, you don't have to go for the on-premises model, as you can make the changes over the cloud. The stability offered by Mojo Networks is better than the other products available in the market since, with other tools, you need to keep restarting them frequently, and it may be required once or twice a day, especially if it is used as an enterprise solution or in an enterprise environment, where the traffic is too high, causing the build-up of a lot of cache memory, fill-ups, and SRAM, a reason why one will have to restart such products.

Unified management of devices ensures a consistent network configuration
I find the features of Ubiquiti WLAN most valuable. I appreciate that it has a controller instead of just a single access point, similar to how Ruckus operates. I utilize Ubiquiti WLAN unified management system, and it helps streamline network management by making consistent configuration of all my access points and switches. I also have cameras integrated, so I have everything managed through the system. I have seen benefits from utilizing Ubiquiti WLAN as it's a stable solution. I also see scalability as a positive factor for Ubiquiti WLAN.

Quotes from Members

Pros

"Built-in guest analytics and advanced guest portal features allow our customers to create a guest experience which is typically only available with complex and expensive third-party software."
"We can see what the network is being used for or where problems may be."
"The cloud-based architecture of the controller is valuable because it obviously saves on my hardware costs."
"The Mojo has proved to handle these high-density requirements and perform better than many competitive devices."
"The security is a valuable feature."
"Mojo Networks (Arista WiFi) is extremely secure with WIPS, built-in wireless."
"The configuration is simple and the reports can be automated."
"The features that I like the most are the visibility and the firewall, which is very good."
"It is similar to the switches, where it is one of those things where it just works. They are very reliable."
"For me, the ease of configuration is a valuable feature."
"It is a very stable solution. Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten."
"I find the features of Ubiquiti WLAN most valuable."
"Ubiquiti provides good connectivity for the end-user, so I think it's stable."
"The main difference between Ubiquiti and other solutions is the wireless coverage and the equipment, and the device in itself is solid with all the functionality that I need."
"Ubiquiti WLAN has good availability, and it is much cheaper."
"Ubiquiti WLAN has good performance."

Cons

"They could use more additional application security and network security features. They could add on to the WiFi as a selling point. It would be nice to be able to say to the WiFi users, "We will protect you against viruses and malware, so you don't have to purchase that.""
"The setup was complex."
"The implementation could be simplified. Right now it's a bit complex."
"The renewal costs that come with it are very expensive."
"The price should be lowered. It is too high for our country."
"The RF signalling and data analytics parts should be improved."
"The solution is a bit pricier than Cisco."
"The user interface could use some improvement, and Mojo is working on it."
"The product needs to improve the user interface in the migration from old to new versions."
"This is not a simple solution like you might find with other vendors."
"The solution should support a larger bandwidth or distance between the access points and the main stations."
"The support needs improvement. The official support is kind of complex."
"Ubiquiti lacks troubleshooting tools. For example, there aren't tools that your clients can use to gather input on the AP itself. There's no visibility in the application layer or reporting. It doesn't have a lot of management features."
"When I started to upgrade, the controller for Unbuntu was really struggling to start up, however, that has since been solved."
"The room for improvement is in the controller levels."
"There is room for improvement in providing the flexibility to change the default management VLAN from VLAN one to another for enhanced security."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"There are other solutions, like Ubiquiti, that have lowered their prices, which sometimes makes the argument to go with them. However, we do not bake in the WiFi for other vendors into our managed services, because they do not meet our standard offering."
"The license is provided per access point, so you buy an access point and you use it."
"Of every solution we looked at, every wireless solution, Mojo was a minimum of six figures cheaper. Minimum. Most of them were double, which again is unheard of. Not only do you get all the feature benefits, like everything is there, everything just works, but at the same time, it was a no-brainer, because of the cost. It's almost like you hit the lottery."
"I rate the product's price as an eight on a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive."
"The cost is a one-time fee."
"They have been a great price competitor against some of the other big brands, like Meraki, especially for cloud-based WiFi. However, Meraki has been more expensive. They beat Meraki on features for the WiFi, which makes them a better choice even if the price is the same."
"It requires a license and that's a recurring cost and that has a really high cheque value."
"Since they have only the cloud and on-premises platform, the price looks good compared to the other OEMs like Cisco and Ruckus. For one of the Wi-Fi 6 access points for five years, they might be charging 20,000 to 25,000 INR."
"Ubiquiti WLAN is less expensive than Ruckus, but its price could be improved to make it more affordable and accessible."
"Ubiquiti WLAN is a low-priced product."
"Ubiquiti WLAN is cheap. It can work without licensing."
"The tool's licensing costs are life-time charges."
"There is a license required for this solution."
"I would rate the solution's pricing a nine out of ten. It is high."
"On a scale from one to ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive, I rate the solution's pricing a seven out of ten."
"The pricing is very reasonable."
