Centralized dashboard has simplified cloud backups and now streamlines multi-cloud data migrations
The best features NetApp BlueXP offers, in my experience, include a single dashboard for every operation, which helps reduce manual work. It has a great dashboard with better visibility and works across multiple clouds, whether in a hybrid or multiple cloud environments. The dashboard helps my team day-to-day by providing a very easy-to-use UI that is not too complex. We can easily add cloud details, create buckets, and manage all the information for backup. The operations are GUI-based, making it very helpful for configuring these tasks without using complex CLI commands. NetApp BlueXP positively impacts my organization by providing good integration with NetApp storage including ONTAP and Trident, along with built-in monitoring and alerts. It saves a lot of time and reduces the in-field engineers' costs.

Versatile data protocols improve efficiency while execution capabilities need enhancement
The ease of configuring NetApp FAS series is noteworthy, as they support multiple standards like iSCSI, NFS, Fibre Channel, and NVMe. NetApp's data efficiency protocols are unmatched in the industry. ActiveIQ offers significant improvements in data monitoring and error notification. It provides crucial data management features and has versatile support for various protocols and standards, making it a one-size-fits-all storage solution.

Pros

"If your use case involves backing up data from the cloud or transitioning data from on-prem to cloud or between multiple or hybrid clouds, NetApp BlueXP is a very good tool."
"The most valuable feature is the ability to view all our different systems in one place. That's the most important feature for us."
"The primary benefit is that it simplifies data management. We face a lot of classification issues with our customers. They need to classify data, but they don't know how to do it. We can help them do it using BlueXP Datasense."
"NetApp BlueXP makes it easier to deliver products and manage inventory."
"NetApp BlueXP has positively impacted my organization by reducing storage management effort by thirty to sixty percent, with less time spent on day-to-day storage operations, resulting in faster provisioning of storage, where storage provisioning time drops from hours to minutes."
"It has improved our disaster recovery."
"When we compare it to classic infrastructure, we see money saving."
"The software interface can extract the data from the backend effectively."
"In OnCommand Unified Manager, we can monitor the entire cluster as well as configure data protection through Unified Manager."
"Their technical support is very strong."
"Snapshot is a valuable feature."
"NetApp is competitive in terms of licensing costs."
"The ease of configuring NetApp FAS series is noteworthy, as they support multiple standards like iSCSI, NFS, Fibre Channel, and NVMe."
"One of the main features is the ability to run the block and file storage from the same system."
"One of the main features is the ability to run the block and file storage from the same system."
"The system manager helps us to manage our NetApp server with a user-friendly GUI instead of a CLI, giving us fast, simplified configurations, simplified management, and extensive administrative capabilities that unlock the power of clustered Data ONTAP and clustered scale-out storage."

Cons

"It is not easy to integrate with Google because if we have some problems, we must talk with Google and NetApp support."
"I chose eight out of ten because the UI is slow sometimes, and the initial configuration is a bit complex."
"It's a very expensive product."
"Performance could be a little better. In my opinion, it's a bit slow. If you click on something, it takes a while for the data to load."
"NetApp BlueXP is powerful but can feel dense; what could be improved are more guided workflows, such as 'set up backup for this workload' or 'optimize storage cost in three steps.'"
"The tool needs to make its licensing pages more user-friendly."
"The dashboard management could be improved."
"The VMware capabilities can be improved."
"The solution lacks the ability to generate reports from Snapshot."
"My advice to those wanting to implement this solution is that the file storage is good, but the block storage is not good."
"There are always areas for improvement, but they need intuitive browser-based GUI, wizard-driven configuration to get up and running quickly, automated non-disruptive (Data ONTAP) upgrade, storage provisioning and disk aggregate management, CIFS, NFS, iSCSI, FC, and FCoE configuration, Snapshot and SnapMirror management, SnapVault support, storage virtual machine management, monitoring of HA pairs, support for SVMs with Infinite Volume, user interface enhancements, support for storage Quality of Service (QoS), support for all NetApp FAS systems and FlexArray software, support for NetApp All Flash FAS, and built-in reports and dashboard summarizing data around inventory, capacity, and efficiency at the enterprise level."
"ActiveIQ only provides read access and does not allow making changes directly."
"The tool is not intuitive and the menus are confusing, especially the snapshot view."
"At present, OnCommand Unified Manager has just the monitoring and data protection features. It would be better to add some features for entire cluster management and storage management. Automation should also be included so that instead of separately accessing Unified Manager and OnCommand Workflow Automation, we can work in a single window. It is very much required."
