Single secure login has simplified daily access and strengthened multi-factor protection
Okta Platform offers several valuable features. The first one is Single Sign-On, which allows users to log in once and gain access to multiple applications without needing to enter credentials repeatedly. I believe that is one of the best features. The second one is multi-factor authentication (MFA). It adds an extra layer of security by requiring users to verify their identity through multiple methods such as a password and a mobile verification code. I use it mostly to manage secure access to enterprise applications and cloud services. Other features include user lifecycle management and integration with cloud applications. I myself have relied mostly on multi-factor authentication (MFA) because I tend to log in every day and whenever I am working or take a break, I use this multi-factor authentication to sign in. Okta Platform simplifies identity management, improves security, and allows employees to access multiple applications through a single secure login. I believe this is a very good feature. Okta Platform has improved our organization through user authentication with features like Single Sign-On and multi-factor authentication. I believe the features it provides simplify identity management, improve security, and fulfill the need for secure and centralized identity and access management.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The MFA part is the best; MFA provided most of the security that we were looking at with respect to the second level of authentication, and Okta Workforce Identity provides a number of options with respect to multifactor authentication, such as the app, phone call, and text, which provide different ways of logging in for users and were a lot more than what we needed."
"The most valuable feature in Okta Workforce Identity is the single sign-on, universal directory, and lifecycle management."
"It's very stable we have 99.999% uptime on the base"
"The most valuable features of Okta Workforce Identity are MFA, and SSO, which have high security."
"The biggest benefit my company gained from Okta Workforce Identity is that everything just works securely so that all your managed devices can access all your applications without any hassle because they are trusted devices, but if you want to use your father's or mother's PC to access the company application, then it will ask more MFA (multifactor authentication) steps."
"Okta Platform is absolutely stable, with no experienced lag, which ensures immediate action upon changes applied within Okta Platform, stabilizing operations in managing user accounts, identities, logins, and user profiles."
"The technical support for Okta is really supportive."
"Its integration components are most valuable; it integrates with everything in some way, completely and 100% with products such as O365 or AD so you can seamlessly create accounts across the board, and for products with which it doesn't completely integrate, you can still do some kind of interfacing."
"The self-service functionality for password/access management reduced our need for manual intervention."
"For v8.4, you can work easily if you stick to OOTB, however, should you require customization, then the tool is very flexible using SQL/VB knowledge to extend."

Cons

"RESTful Web Service calls and their response seem a bit slow."
"There are some issues with the interface that can be improved."
"On the admin side, we can create our own passwords instead of generating one, which is usually difficult to explain to a user."
"A couple of improvements with the lifecycle management that will help companies that don't have an HRIS system to help manage contractors and contingent workers would be to add ways to disable their accounts once a certain time point is designated."
"They are far from perfect, so Okta has the worst implementation."
"SSO and MFA for improved end-user experience, and protection against password spray attacks, account password self-service."
"The lifecycle management part can be improved. It should also have identity governance and the ability to choose a specific factor authentication at the application level. Its licensing and pricing can also be improved."
"We faced some challenges during the Okta Identity Workforce deployment. Integrating with AWS and other cloud services posed some limitations with federated options. For instance, features like automatic user addition from AWS to the tool were missing, requiring manual intervention. The API is limited compared to the manual configuration possible through the UI."
"Stability was a constant concern. The application was plagued with memory leak issues from initial installation and through multiple major/minor version upgrades."
"Moving from v7.x to v8.x is not easy. You need Courion expertise and skills to upgrade and migrate the data."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The product is expensive compared to other vendors."
"Price-wise, Okta Workforce Identity is a cheap solution. The overall cost depends on the license since you can negotiate with Okta or any of Okta's partners only if you opt for many licenses."
"The price of Okta Workforce Identity is competitively priced. We pay annually for the use of the solution."
"The solution’s pricing needs to be reasonable. You are dealing with a lot of components and the pricing is component-based."
"The solution is not the cheapest but not the most expensive. They are in the middle rating."
"The product's price is high. For each feature, a certain payment is required."
"It has a yearly subscription. As compared to its competitors, it is quite expensive. It also has a complex licensing model."
"Okta has fairly competitive pricing."
