Centralized identity governance has automated lifecycle management and simplifies compliance
One Identity Manager could be improved by making the initial setup and configuration simpler, especially for complex workflows and integrations. The user interface and reporting dashboards could also be more modern and intuitive with better out-of-the-box analytics. Additionally, clearer documentation and faster implementation guidance would help organizations get value more quickly. One specific challenge my team encountered was the complexity during initial configuration, especially when setting up custom workflows and role models which required more time and expertise. We also felt that out-of-the-box reports and dashboards are limited, and more customizable real-time analytics would be helpful. Better documentation and guided setup wizards would make adoption easier, particularly for teams new to identity governance tools. One improvement I think One Identity Manager needs is the enhanced self-service experience. The end-user self-service portal could be more intuitive with clearer guidance for access requests and password resets. Additionally, while integrations are solid, deeper cloud-native connectors and API-driven automation would help in hybrid and multi-cloud environments. A more responsive mobile interface or dedicated app for approvals and tasks would help managers who are often on the go. One more improvement is the built-in predictive insights or trend dashboards around access patterns and risk could improve proactive governance. More descriptive error messages and in-tool troubleshooting tips during setup configuration would reduce dependency on external documentation or support.

Streamline identity lifecycle management with intuitive interfaces and robust policy features
The functions of RSA Identity Governance and Lifecycle, especially the IGA, are quite strong with their custom forms and workflows integrated. The user interface is very friendly and easy to use, making it a good product overall. However, it still has to be on-premise and the cloud version is not easily accessible, as dedicated instances are required and machines cannot be shared as multi-tenant for various customers. The advanced policy features of RSA definitely help in defining certain policies such as segregation of duties. That's particularly useful along with creating different access reviews. Regarding access control in simplifying access management, RSA Identity Governance and Lifecycle has strong foundations of groups and roles, which help in defining all policies very easily. This makes it very easy to integrate with other access management tools or privileged access management tools.

Pros

"One Identity Manager stands out because it offers a wide range of features without requiring complex installation or ongoing maintenance."
"I have seen a great return on investment with One Identity Manager, especially in terms of time-saving and reduced manual efforts, saving 70 to 80% of time compared to previous methods and allowing for almost 90% faster access removal or granting, making it a great solution for my environment."
"Now, we get data from HR when a new hire begins and we have the user account, mailbox, and default permissions for the organization available approximately two hours later."
"It wouldn't be possible to onboard and manage our 40,000 store employees without it."
"One Identity Manager is user-friendly and easy to customize. One Identity's business roles enable me to map company structures for dynamic application provisioning, which is fairly important."
"I am satisfied with One Identity Manager for providing a single platform for enterprise-level administration and governance of privileged accounts and data."
"The most valuable feature is the JML. Unlike other identity manager tools, the JML is more customizable, making it easier to find."
"It's very flexible. You can customize it to the fullest extent. You can use it for almost every situation for every customer."
"The data collection is excellent and easy to do. It does not require a lot of configuration nor does it require rules to be written like other competitors do."
"Customer service was always exceptional and if we needed to call the regular customer support number for administrative tasks on the account, they were always helpful and resolved our cases within a few days."
"All of the features in this product are good and this is a product that I recommend."
"Roles, connectors for provisioning and re-accreditation or reviews help greatly to govern user access."
"With the tool in place, you need to hire fewer people to provide access, and you have control over your processes."
"The user interface is very friendly and easy to use, making it a good product overall."
"The data collection is excellent and easy to do."
"It improved security."

Cons

"I would like to see a lot more integration with our platforms, more on the connector side."
"This version, version 8 has been working fine. Version 6 was horrible for us; the performance wasn't good at all."
"We have some performance problems, so pushing to scale is a challenge."
"It's costlier than some other products and there is nothing that fits every solution."
"We have seen a little ROI when there was a restructuring reduction in the market for user management teams, but not enough to cover the cost of the project."
"With technical support, it is always an issue to get the right person. They do have good technical people in support, but it is sometimes not so easy to get them."
"The interface can be a bit complex for an administrator to manage."
"Integration and implementation complexity would be one area for improvement in One Identity Manager."
"This product is missing a lot of features which other competitors are providing. One of the key features that are missing right now is risk scoring. Additionally, there is not much scope for customization - everything is hard-coded and predefined, so it does not allow the developers to make many modifications."
"The stability of RSA Identity Governance and Lifecycle could improve; it has some bugs that need to be fixed."
"We were excited that the self-provision feature was now built into the box but disappointed at the implementation."
"Technical support in Pakistan can be improved."
"Every connector that you have in the product needs to be custom-built, so there are not a lot of standard connectors available in the product, because of which there are a lot of hidden consultancy costs."
"It was expensive initially, but day to day costs are minimal."
"It could be a little more flexible with the installation of the product."
"Application and appliance stability needs improvement."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It helps us save on licenses for applications because we are following the account lifecycle, as well as account reactivation."
"It's costlier that some other products, and there is nothing that fits every solution."
"You get a lot of bang for your buck with One Identity. It has many features that are included in the standard IGA license. Most people who are considering buying One Identity don't understand how much power is behind it in engines."
"One Identity Manager is fairly priced."
"One Identity is cost-efficient from a licensing perspective. However, one drawback is that it's expensive on the hardware side for the customer to set up. One Identity's professional services team recommends various components. They lose some of the cost advantage because the hardware is expensive and requires maintenance."
"It has helped to reduce customer costs."
"The licensing cost is per user."
"One Identity Manager is priced in the middle range but offers good value due to lower implementation time compared to competitors. Total cost of ownership is crucial where the main expense is in implementation, not licensing."
"We are using the cloud platform, but we don't find it compatible to be served as a multi-tenant platform. This is a large drawback. It becomes expensive because it is then an all-dedicated solution. You have to have a separate tenant for each client, which increases the cost. The overall unit pricing can be less expensive than how it is right now."
"I rate the product's price a five on a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive."
"Pricing varies based on user count/number of modules you need."
