Centralized identity governance has automated lifecycle management and simplifies compliance
One Identity Manager could be improved by making the initial setup and configuration simpler, especially for complex workflows and integrations. The user interface and reporting dashboards could also be more modern and intuitive with better out-of-the-box analytics. Additionally, clearer documentation and faster implementation guidance would help organizations get value more quickly. One specific challenge my team encountered was the complexity during initial configuration, especially when setting up custom workflows and role models which required more time and expertise. We also felt that out-of-the-box reports and dashboards are limited, and more customizable real-time analytics would be helpful. Better documentation and guided setup wizards would make adoption easier, particularly for teams new to identity governance tools. One improvement I think One Identity Manager needs is the enhanced self-service experience. The end-user self-service portal could be more intuitive with clearer guidance for access requests and password resets. Additionally, while integrations are solid, deeper cloud-native connectors and API-driven automation would help in hybrid and multi-cloud environments. A more responsive mobile interface or dedicated app for approvals and tasks would help managers who are often on the go. One more improvement is the built-in predictive insights or trend dashboards around access patterns and risk could improve proactive governance. More descriptive error messages and in-tool troubleshooting tips during setup configuration would reduce dependency on external documentation or support.

Streamline identity lifecycle management with intuitive interfaces and robust policy features
The functions of RSA Identity Governance and Lifecycle, especially the IGA, are quite strong with their custom forms and workflows integrated. The user interface is very friendly and easy to use, making it a good product overall. However, it still has to be on-premise and the cloud version is not easily accessible, as dedicated instances are required and machines cannot be shared as multi-tenant for various customers. The advanced policy features of RSA definitely help in defining certain policies such as segregation of duties. That's particularly useful along with creating different access reviews. Regarding access control in simplifying access management, RSA Identity Governance and Lifecycle has strong foundations of groups and roles, which help in defining all policies very easily. This makes it very easy to integrate with other access management tools or privileged access management tools.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Overall, the product works well and is very good tool, which functions well."
"It is very comprehensive. There are a lot of features in the product. The strong points are that you can model your organization in One Identity Manager and create roles."
"The solution solves our customers' compliance issues and optimizes their administration."
"An outstanding feature of One Identity Manager, compared to SailPoint, is the dashboard where they present everything. With the dashboard, the customer can see how the integrations have happened."
"The main benefit of One Identity is process management. Processes are easier to handle. With the police, if a forensic editor or examiner goes to the field and gets all the data, he would need to go to another office with his flash drive and all of those devices."
"The best features of One Identity Manager are the synchronization project, the mapping, onboarding using CSV, and the designer tool which allows us to write our own custom workflows."
"My favorite feature is the visualization, because when you open an identity, you can see what is linked to it, such as rules or departments, and I really appreciate how you can see things that are connected rather than just viewing them in a list from a database."
"The best feature of this solution is its flexibility to be customized. It is like a framework. You can customize it very far from its core functionality, and it will still work."
"Soft and hard tokens for two factor authentication has been introduced."
"Roles, connectors for provisioning and re-accreditation or reviews help greatly to govern user access."
"The most valuable feature is the security, in particular, the One Time Password support."
"It improved security."
"The data collection is excellent and easy to do. It does not require a lot of configuration nor does it require rules to be written like other competitors do."
"The user interface is very friendly and easy to use, making it a good product overall."
"Customer service was always exceptional and if we needed to call the regular customer support number for administrative tasks on the account, they were always helpful and resolved our cases within a few days."
"With the tool in place, you need to hire fewer people to provide access, and you have control over your processes."

Cons

"We have some performance problems, so pushing to scale is a challenge."
"[Regarding] their upgrades, we're going to 8.12 right now and everything is running very smoothly but this is actually the first upgrade that has gone off well. Even the other "dots" have taken us six months or longer to get through QA testing."
"One Identity Manager needs to come up with many more out-of-the-box connectors, similar to Workday and ServiceNow."
"The web portal can be a bit muggy at times. This is one of the key complaints from our customers."
"They could make the product more user-friendly. The solution is more complex than you think to use."
"The user interface can be confusing for end users, especially during attestations, as completed tasks simply disappear without indicating that there are no pending requests."
"There is an area for improvement when it comes to intuitiveness. It has the ability to manage everything and does that fairly well, but that also causes a risk of drowning end-users in complexity."
"The tool did not allow beyond a specific level of visibility; it provided visibility at the user level, not at the level of nested entitlements, resulting in an inaccurate depiction from the asset manager's point of view."
"There are scalability issues. This product does not scale very well. It is not a good product for load balancing / active–active architecture."
"Every connector that you have in the product needs to be custom-built, so there are not a lot of standard connectors available in the product, because of which there are a lot of hidden consultancy costs."
"The user interface and workflow need improvement, and more connectors would help."
"Application and appliance stability needs improvement."
"Technical support in Pakistan can be improved."
"Technical support in Pakistan can be improved."
"It could be a little more flexible with the installation of the product."
"RSA Identity Governance and Lifecycle could improve out-of-the-box customization."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"One Identity Manager is fairly priced."
"It needs flexibility in the licensing or packaging, because you buy the entire package at once, and sometimes the customers are a bit overwhelmed with whatever they get. I would like if they could cut the licensing or packaging into somewhat smaller things."
"We are paying for premium support, which is expensive. However, we do receive very good, fast support."
"Prices in Turkey are high due to inflation, a challenge we've heard about from our customers."
"One Identity Manager is fairly priced."
"Pricing depends on licensing models, such as per-user licensing and feature-based pricing. Additional models like governance, provisioning, and reporting increase costs."
"The licensing for One Identity Manager is per user, per carbon life, specifically, it's per people, and not a per-identity licensing model. For example, if I have two hundred people, or if I have someone with several identities, I'm only paying for it once. I don't remember the exact cost of One Identity Manager because I wasn't the one who paid for the license."
"There is a one-time licensing cost, and there is also a yearly subscription fee."
"Pricing varies based on user count/number of modules you need."
"I rate the product's price a five on a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive."
"We are using the cloud platform, but we don't find it compatible to be served as a multi-tenant platform. This is a large drawback. It becomes expensive because it is then an all-dedicated solution. You have to have a separate tenant for each client, which increases the cost. The overall unit pricing can be less expensive than how it is right now."
