Gained full visibility and streamlined threat detection through behavior-based insights and AI integration
Initially, we got to have a lot of false positives when we onboarded, but nowadays it's quite smooth. We have fine-tuned our security policies and allowed different levels of policies to get rid of those false positives. Currently, we are getting a fairly good amount of incidents that are not false positives or benign, but actionable items. The process is streamlined. In the initial days, the operations used to get involved in a lot of benign and other activities, but now the process is streamlined. We are leveraging the auto-detection and remediation plans. The operations teams are now more involved in other business roles as well, not just looking into the logs and fetching out what's happening there. They have fixed a lot of things. Initially, they didn't have IAC code drift detection, cloud posture management, or security posture management, but they have those now. They purchased different vendors and did a merger with that. They have now Prisma Cloud that gets integrated and now they are working with Cortex Cloud. Everything that was negative has now been addressed, and the product altogether looks to be in a very better and mature shape now. Currently, it's more or less detecting the workloads with AI-based best practices. Since most organizations are consuming AI agents and other things, we are looking forward to seeing what other feature enhancements Palo Alto can support in that.

Improving threat detection is critical for enhanced protection
We use Webroot Business Endpoint Protection as a NextGen antivirus solution for our clients. It's included in the contract we have with our clients as a cost-effective option for antivirus protection Webroot Business Endpoint Protection is cost-effective for rolling it out to all of our clients,…

Centralized console has improved visibility while setup remains quick on diverse environments
I don't know why I find it valuable; my colleague administrated it, but I was the chief of a team of six people, and one of them administered this product, which worked well for defending our servers. I don't know what the best features of Trend Vision One Endpoint Security are; it performs well compared to other products, and I am curious about it, but I cannot think of specific features. Perhaps my colleagues could provide that information, but I do not have that knowledge. The centralized console helps my team greatly; it is very convenient as everything is all in one console, not only EDR but many other products, such as email security and XDR features. Trend Vision One Endpoint Security positively impacts our organization as it is very simple to install on Windows and Linux servers; it is not very difficult to install.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"When the pandemic started, Palo Alto came up with many solutions, which helped with the quick shift from on-premises to the cloud."
"Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks has helped lighten the load of our security analysts because it was the major tool that we were using and the one we utilized most."
"We've had a significant increase in blocking with a decrease in false positives, because it's looking at how the files work, not just a list of files that it's been told to look for."
"The solution doesn't need a high level of technical training."
"Traps is quite a stable product. Once it was properly deployed and configured, you have nothing to be worried about."
"Their XDR agent and their behavioral indicators of compromise (BIOC) are pretty nice. Their managed threat hunting is also pretty nice. They also have WildFire, which is a service for actively looking for malware. It's quite useful."
"This software helps us understand any issues that may arise when someone is not at work."
"Cortex covers everything I need. It's a perfect solution. Cortex provides a different level of visibility because it's an extended EDR, allowing you to grab logs from the network and firewalls. Palo Alto invented the concept of the extended EDR or XDR."
"Speed"
"I haven't observed any of the instabilities in the solution. It is a stable solution."
"Its ease of installation is valuable. It has been a low-resource tool and the continuous updates in the past have made it attractive from the standpoint of the trust level on the protection."
"It is very lightweight on the workstations, not slowing them down while still doing its job very well."
"It is an easy-to-use and easy-to-configure product."
"Doesn't consume resources or affect the computer performance at all."
"The initial setup was straightforward. It took five minutes. I installed the solution myself."
"There aren't any features that really stand out — I just want it to keep malware out of my system. To date, I haven't had any malware in my system."
"The solution offers quick and timely updates."
"Workload security now has a feature called Activity Monitor for each endpoint."
"I'm using the cloud solution, which I really like. I like being able to update policies on the cloud so that when users who are working from home connect to the internet, their laptops will be updated automatically. I also like that this solution is easy to use and is stable and scalable"
"The nano protection and device control are great."
"Trend Micro Apex One is good at detecting zero-day threats. When the solution was in operation I did not notice any system performance problems. Upgrades of the solution were simple to do and there are plenty of features."
"The most valuable features of Trend Micro Apex One are it has its own machine learning and it is quite fast, compared with the other solutions. When you're comparing the other solutions, each has pros and cons, you cannot claim one is 100 percent suitable for you. None of the solutions dominate in all areas."
"I like Apex One's DLP and EDR features. The DLP is a good solution because it allows you to push policies. Source detection is another one. It automatically detects malicious IPs, domains, and URLs. Most of the time, it works automatically, but sometimes it doesn't quarantine or block, so we have to perform remediation manually and delete the file or application through Power Shell."
"The monitoring is very good."

Cons

"If he is using a smaller company, he can depend on some other tools because Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks is a bit expensive."
"I would like to see better protection, specifically to protect email applications."
"Currently, we are monitoring all USB drives and ports but we would like to improve our device control capabilities."
"It should support more mobile operating systems. That is one of the cons of their infrastructure right now."
"The encryption is not up to the mark."
"To jump from the partner to Palo Alto directly was challenging."
"The tool needs to be improved in terms of integration and interface."
"We would also like to have advanced tech protection and email scanning."
"The console spins up relatively slowly, and some of the configuration items are obscure (e.g., reporting back one time per day is a default setting) and need to be tweaked."
"Since they're dealing with multi-core environments now, the best option would be for them to enhance the product so that the product can automatically do an assessment on the machine."
"One of the biggest pain points is that it's not really ransomware-oriented. They will be able to catch some, but that's where Sentinel One is a better player compared to Webroot."
"Its detection capability for certain attacks should be improved. It should have better and wider detection for certain malware attacks. It could also have some sort of RMN."
"We need more control over when upgrades to the app are rolled out."
"They should provide more information on the type of cyber attacks."
"It doesn't do anything proactive. The virus has to hit the machine before it detects it."
"The reporting is the weakest part of the Webroot console. Frequently, I export to Excel to massage something into it to pass on to others."
"When I was setting this up for one of my clients, I was not able to deploy the DLP."
"Trend Micro Apex One can improve its vulnerability assessment and monitoring tools."
"The solution could improve security. It is important to always keep the organization secure."
"I am expecting an Apple featured IDLP solution with OfficeScan, where we have only IDLP. Also, the ADR functionality in our Office Scan solution would be a nice addition. Genrally, the ADR solutions are the only failed ends of the solutions we have found with Trend Micro."
"The price is the main concern of the clients."
"The solution could improve by making the interface less confusing, it needs to be simplified."
"The customization has room for improvement."
"Sometimes it will not communicate with the server, and we need to manually restart items."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The pricing seems fair, and I do like the licensing model. You use wherever they are, and it is elastic."
"It is cost-effective compared to similar solutions. It fits for the small businesses through to the big businesses."
"This is an expensive solution."
"Our license will require renewal in August, after which the maintenance will continue as usual."
"It has reasonable pricing for the use cases it provides to the company."
"Very costly product."
"The solution has one subscription for endpoint protection and one subscription for detection and response. The two licenses combined give you the BRO version."
"It is present, but when compared to other competitive products, I would say it is not less expensive; however, when all of the other added values are considered, the price is reasonable."
"Webroot is less expensive than SentinelOne."
"I think the price is fairly reasonable. I was really prepared to pay more, but the price is fine."
"If you purchase for clients, then you are the managing billing entity. It's better to either get a monthly subscription check from your clients, or to prepay for the year (so as to not keep cash in reserve to pay the bill each month) IMHO."
"The pricing is high."
"Its cost is not much per month. Our price is a couple of bucks a user."
"Our strategy was to overestimate the complexity and cost. It turned out that Webroot's assurance was justified."
"We evaluate other options using multiple choices, best value, management and functionality."
"We are on an annual subscription for the use of Webroot Business Endpoint Protection."
"The pricing was previously considered affordable, however, currently, it is on the rise due to a new licensing segregation policy."
"There are licenses for Apex One's individual security features, so it depends on what the customer needs. But in general, Trend Micro is cheap, and many customers require it."
"The license is expensive but it is a complete solution."
"On a scale of one to ten with ten being the most expensive, Apex One is an eight."
"Pricing and licensing are competitive with other solutions on the market."
"The price is reasonable."
"The licensing fee and support are bundled together."
"Trend Micro has very aggressive pricing, but it is also very good."
