Quick deployment and easy implementation with complex logic challenges
We use Oracle Application Server for a loan management system. We created it for a client; it is a low-code platform. Everything is purchased in Oracle Cloud, and we use it to develop and deploy applications The product offers easy implementation, which is a benefit. It saves development time…

Stable and scalable enterprise deployment with Cloud-Native support
Oracle WebLogic Server helps with my deployment strategy in both monolithic as well as Cloud-Native ways. I think it is useful; this Cloud-Native support helps with deployment in both on-prem and cloud. For container deployment, we are not very rich. We are in the process of moving our business logic to containerization. But in terms of this being a big product, a core banking system, I prefer on-prem rather than cloud. The use cases and the scrum help me a lot in an iterative, incremental manner. I would recommend this product; it is an enterprise, large volume, and of course, it is worth it to deploy. I am providing this review with a rating of 9.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The product offers easy implementation, which is a benefit. It saves development time compared to normal development processes."
"It is good because it's easy to use. It doesn't crash frequently like other servers."
"It is efficient, not redundant, usable, scalable, and meant for enterprise applications."
"The technical support is responsive. They are always ready to help by various communication channels, such as Zoom calls. However, sometimes it will take a while because when we are dealing with a problem, they need to look at the logs and configuration. A lot of the issues are related to the configuration that they need to look at thoroughly before they can give us a solution and it can take a few days depending on the type of problem."
"The solution works well in load balancing."
"Compared to open source application servers, the WLS administration console is quite complete in terms of features and it is easier for developers and sysadmins to manage, monitor, and configure the app server from an administration console."
"I recommend the product because the installation is easy, it provides a secure environment, and it's easy to manage. The solution provides easy monitoring. Accessing all the logs is easy, and deploying application versions is smooth."
"It has good integration with security features, including OWASP."
"The possibility of having several servers running, so we do not lose the service."

Cons

"If you have complex business logic, there is no option to build that complex logic inside the platform."
"We're now using a binary WebLogic server without coherence so the in-memory replication we are operating, sometimes fail."
"The ticket-raising process is very time-consuming"
"I've had issues with some of the tracking features tracking and have had to go back to several generations of code to fix problems where things were touched."
"The pricing is a little bit higher compared to other products."
"Managing and monitoring the WebLogic server environment has been challenging because most monitoring tools don't support it."
"There are a lot of reasons that can cause WebLogic updates to end up making the whole system unstable."
"Oracle's support team fails to understand the real problem of the customer, which is why they take time to resolve issues."
"The tool's implementation should be easier. The product is also expensive."
