Has supported secure report building and simplified data visualization for non-technical users
The features I find most useful in Oracle Business Intelligence Cloud Service include data visualization desktop for self-service reports. We can export using Excel and CSV files by dragging and dropping the columns to create reports. The drag-and-drop interface in Oracle Business Intelligence Cloud Service helps create dashboards for non-technical users as it is easy to use. By dragging and dropping columns, it creates a tabular view by default. We can convert these into many graphs and views such as pivot tables and other interactive graphical representations. I use self-service analytics in Oracle Business Intelligence Cloud Service.

Brings reporting, planning, and prediction together in one seamless workflow
I think the areas of SAP Analytics Cloud that could be improved or enhanced are mentioned by users or companies, and they would definitely mention the price in terms of planning licensing. From a consulting point of view, I don't see any major weaknesses. It is reasonably well-developed, and the perfect strength is that innovations are coming on a quarterly basis. It is slightly behind other tools in terms of the number of graphical outputs. Some tools have it faster, but every increment of innovations contains new features. On the other hand, it is perfectly fitting to the SAP environment, with seamless integration to all SAP modules, not only ERP but also SuccessFactors and other tools from the SAP family, for example, integrated business planning for the production planning. This is really a highlight compared to other tools.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Initial setup was straightforward."
"The most valuable features are user-friendly and self-service tools. Users can define their reports based on available data sets, with multiple dimensions and slide and dice data capabilities."
"This solution allowed us to consolidate information from the finance and supply chain systems into aggregate reporting, which had been very difficult to create in the past."
"The solution effectively integrates with third-party products."
"Its ease of use and the ability to drill down into detail are the most valuable, and executive dashboarding features are the most commonly used ones."
"The most valuable features are the analytical application and the user story."
"I would also tell others to go for SAP Analytics Cloud over other technologies because SAP has a vast infrastructure, so you can integrate different modules and products within SAP very easily."
"The main benefits end users receive from SAP Business Data Cloud include deep insight analytics on cloud to plan and to get the real live data on a unified view or consistent view to be aware and to take decisions, to speed up performance, and to know the gaps and to fix the gaps."
"The product has helped us to unify reporting between all departments and throughout the entire company; it has improved our organization by streamlining operations."
"SAP is very scalable."
"Another good thing about SAP is that it has powerful tools like the SAP Data View and HANA and BO configuration, which will always give you better results with any type of data and any amount of data within a short time."
"I like the predictive features of SAP; it's an easy to use tool for an end-user, you don't need a lot of technical knowledge to use the product, and it is very easy to learn and gives you flexibility in designing your own dashboard with its new analytics designer."
"The most valuable feature of SAP Business Data Cloud is not really limited to BDC itself, it's the two core applications, which are SAC and Data Sphere, and I think seamless planning is the number one feature that is really advantageous to users and really something that stands out for SAP versus everybody else because no other tool has that feature."

Cons

"In terms of data modeling, it could be simplified. Sometimes, it seems complicated. Also, the response time for data set refreshes could be faster to enhance the user experience."
"Some of the advanced analytics need work, and I believe there's an opportunity to improve or simplify the integration with data power users and data science users."
"I didn't interact with them for this solution, but from a broader perspective, my experience with Oracle is that their tech support sits somewhere between low and fair."
"As an expert, I can recommend that improvements could be made in Oracle Business Intelligence Cloud Service regarding cost."
"When looking at web-based BI or cloud-based BI vendors, there should be abilities for power users to build deep analysis. If they are not data science tools, they are not for power users."
"Quality of support varies."
"The dashboard could be improved and include additional features."
"The interface can be simplified because it is not a user-friendly experience."
"The business intelligence features should be improved because there is a lack of functionality regarding that part."
"Sometimes we have difficulty connecting to a SharePoint list."
"Some algorithms are complex and can't be processed by just tagging the data and expecting results."
"It's actually a bit difficult at the moment to explain to the clients all the benefits of SAP Business Data Cloud."
"My experience implementing SAP Business Data Cloud and migrating has not been very easy or straightforward because in BW, I have a lot of objects, including cubes, DSOs, ADSOs, composite providers, and multi-providers, and there is a lot of flexibility in the system."
"Pricing is fine for the BI license, but when it comes to client license, that fee is a bit high."
"SAP Analytics Cloud should improve the dashboard."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Oracle products are always going to be on the higher end of your price scale. You have to kind of accept that going in."
"The solution's pricing is reasonable compared to other products."
"The pricing of this product is reasonable."
"SAP Analytics can be very costly to license, which can make it difficult for organizations to implement."
"It is not the most expensive one. You have to do the cost-of-ownership analysis and take a lot of things into consideration to come up with the conclusion that it is cheaper or not, but its price is reasonable. It provides value for money."
"I don't have the exact price for SAP Analytics Cloud, but it could be improved and made cheaper, especially when compared to Power BI."
"SAP Analytics Cloud is a bit higher [in price]. Because, if Microsoft can afford a better product and lower cost, SAP can afford at least the same, or even lower."
"It's quite expensive and costs a lot to maintain, especially with licensing."
"This solution offers value for money and you get what you pay for."
"SAP Analytics Cloud is expensive. The price is a big issue if you compare it with other solutions from different vendors."
