Centralized control has strengthened privileged security and simplified audit investigations
While One Identity Safeguard is a strong and reliable PAM solution, there are a few areas where it can be further improved to enhance user experience and scalability. Regarding the user interface and experience, the UI, while functional, can be a bit complex for new users. A more intuitive and modern dashboard with simplified navigation would improve adoption, especially for non-technical stakeholders. Regarding integration flexibility, although it supports major integrations, expanding out-of-the-box connectors for more cloud-native apps, DevOps tools, and SaaS platforms would be beneficial. Faster and simpler API-based integrations could reduce deployment efforts. Regarding scalability and performance in large enterprise environments, performance tuning and scaling can require additional efforts. Enhancing seamless scalability and high availability configuration would improve enterprise readiness.

Positive feedback highlights lightweight design and compatibility while suggesting more AI integration
I think Silverfort is actually a really good product. Silverfort helps identify blind spots in your identity and access management, covering areas that traditional systems don't, such as command line tools. It checks your Active Directory authentication and continues only if the check is okay, plus it works with older protocols such as NTLM, which is a significant advantage. The product is fairly new, but it's great; it's lightweight and agent-based, acting as a bridge between your Active Directory and any other application, with no impact on the applications. Silverfort is one of the few vendors that offers a free POC, and usually the customer ends up taking it, as they've lost very few deals in this manner. It's complementary to other tools you may have, whether they are TAM solutions such as Delinea or Xerox. Silverfort also has a lightweight adapter for domain controllers, and it finds gaps in security. Its capabilities are expanding regularly, with new features voted on every few months. For companies with large Active Directory implementations and zero staff, Silverfort provides instant results in identifying risks and blind spots. It also includes built-in virtual features, and while I don't know the exact pricing, it's not expensively priced, making it an attractive option.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution transparently integrates into the infrastructure and users do not notice it. I would give this feature the highest rating."
"It has greatly helped improve our security posture. Safeguard has an option where it will reset passwords on service accounts, then go out to those servers where that service account is running as a service and update the password on it. That makes password changes very easy. We can regularly change passwords now and are planning on making it an annual activity, where all the people who own service accounts will go in and make sure all their passwords get changed, updated, and reset."
"One Identity Safeguard has positively impacted our organization in many ways by providing privileged access security and improving compliance."
"Safeguard is a next-generation tool when it comes to privileged access management."
"One Identity Safeguard has positively impacted us because the fear of theft of passwords or IDs has been reduced to almost zero, significantly enhancing our security."
"Since using One Identity Safeguard, we have more control over who accesses what, especially regarding vendors, and we have seen billing actually go down because we now know how long vendors have been on the server and how long they have worked on it."
"One Identity Safeguard is powerful because it provides beneficial features that support clean integration with different tools, significantly improving security and automation processes."
"The incidents of password theft have reduced by around forty percent, which has been a very good result from using One Identity Safeguard for our organization and is a great benefit for us."
"Silverfort helps identify blind spots in your identity and access management, covering areas that traditional systems don't, such as command line tools."

Cons

"The high availability function of the box itself requires a long time to switch over from one appliance to another, so there is room for improvement."
"We would like to be able to generate certificate signing requests (CSRs) from the interface for certificates."
"While One Identity Safeguard is a strong privilege access management solution, there are some areas where improvements can be made."
"The deployment affects our privileged users because it takes a long time for them to request privileges, which impacts the SLA."
"We sometimes face issues with configuration and things like that, but we manage to solve them."
"The main point regarding the user experience is that Safeguard has two separate management consoles."
"One key area is performance and resource usage, especially when advanced features like session recording or OCR are enabled."
"Our experience with technical support has been disappointing. We require more prompt and faster response times. We require answers to our questions right away but we haven't received that level of support."
"If Silverfort could integrate a gentle type of AI similar to Microsoft Copilot or enable workflow creation similar to Salesforce, it would further improve user navigation, even though the platform is already simple."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The license is very expensive for us, partly due to inflation and partly because of the exchange rate between the Dollar and the Iranian Rial. We purchased a perpetual license that we've been using up until now, but I believe that we are not going to update it in the future. Instead, we plan to find another third-party to support us with the license, in the sense that we would have access to their license as a shared agreement."
"Our licensing costs are on a yearly basis."
"The full license is expensive but if you plan to use it in a big organization then it is the best option because it is more flexible."
"They have comparable pricing. All identity products are essentially priced in a similar way. It's a per-user base."
"We have a yearly license. The cost depends on how much a company wants to invest in technology. In our organization, we believe in modern digitization and automation processes so we found it affordable. One Identity was not that much less than other solutions and it is not a cheap solution. There were number of cheaper solutions. However, it's the most effective, according to our evaluation."
"They offer a fair price for a robust solution."
"The pricing depends on our perspective, our budget, and, of course, the competitors we are taking into account."
"It is cheaper than CyberArk. Its price is fair."
