Centralized control has strengthened privileged security and simplified audit investigations
While One Identity Safeguard is a strong and reliable PAM solution, there are a few areas where it can be further improved to enhance user experience and scalability. Regarding the user interface and experience, the UI, while functional, can be a bit complex for new users. A more intuitive and modern dashboard with simplified navigation would improve adoption, especially for non-technical stakeholders. Regarding integration flexibility, although it supports major integrations, expanding out-of-the-box connectors for more cloud-native apps, DevOps tools, and SaaS platforms would be beneficial. Faster and simpler API-based integrations could reduce deployment efforts. Regarding scalability and performance in large enterprise environments, performance tuning and scaling can require additional efforts. Enhancing seamless scalability and high availability configuration would improve enterprise readiness.

A stable solution that provides data protection and employee monitoring features in a single console
If a person wants to use a DLP product, they must know what data they want to protect and how to block, allow, and monitor data. We will not have any issues if the policies are correct and the user is authorized to perform the actions. Uninstalling is also pretty quick. Overall, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Since using One Identity Safeguard, we have more control over who accesses what, especially regarding vendors, and we have seen billing actually go down because we now know how long vendors have been on the server and how long they have worked on it."
"One Identity Safeguard has made a noticeable positive impact on our organization by giving us much better control and visibility over privileged access."
"Overall, it has helped us save time, improve security, and reduce manual effort across the team."
"One Identity Safeguard is stable and provides great performance."
"Technical support is brilliant."
"Safeguard by One Identity has had a positive impact on my organization and my clients' projects, as several customers ended up satisfied after implementation and continued to use the product."
"The best feature One Identity Safeguard offers is that it is a pretty new, modern tool that makes extensive use of its API."
"We use the Approval Anywhere, or cloud assistant feature and it is great. It enables us to add an extra layer of security for critical passwords without adding time to the approval process."
"The product provides data protection and employee monitoring features in a single console."

Cons

"The reason it is not a perfect ten is mainly because of usability and operational friction in some scenarios."
"I would like to see support for RDP over HTTPS so this product can be used in conjunction with the Microsoft terminal."
"The integration part seems a bit challenging because some tools cannot be integrated properly with it."
"One Identity's support is not appropriately structured, and it has a lot of room to improve."
"If I had to point out something that could be improved or is sometimes seen as missing, it would be user experience or UI."
"One Identity Safeguard can be improved by fixing the documentation, which is very convoluted as of now, and addressing versioning, as some major bugs and issues are not documented well enough in the documentation, along with some patches and fixes."
"Monitoring of the platform should be easier and more functional so that you can have a clear picture of the running service."
"Reporting and dashboard customization with One Identity Safeguard should be better improved."
"The user experience should be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We bought their other products, so it was not that expensive. It is one of those where the more you buy, the cheaper it is."
"The license is very expensive for us, partly due to inflation and partly because of the exchange rate between the Dollar and the Iranian Rial. We purchased a perpetual license that we've been using up until now, but I believe that we are not going to update it in the future. Instead, we plan to find another third-party to support us with the license, in the sense that we would have access to their license as a shared agreement."
"It is cheaper than CyberArk. Its price is fair."
"The license is around $3,000 per month."
"We have a yearly license. The cost depends on how much a company wants to invest in technology. In our organization, we believe in modern digitization and automation processes so we found it affordable. One Identity was not that much less than other solutions and it is not a cheap solution. There were number of cheaper solutions. However, it's the most effective, according to our evaluation."
"The pricing depends on our perspective, our budget, and, of course, the competitors we are taking into account."
"They offer a fair price for a robust solution."
"It is more expensive than Secret Server but way less expensive than CyberArk. As a customer, I would like the pricing to be lower, but it has a good price point."
