Brings reporting, planning, and prediction together in one seamless workflow
I think the areas of SAP Analytics Cloud that could be improved or enhanced are mentioned by users or companies, and they would definitely mention the price in terms of planning licensing. From a consulting point of view, I don't see any major weaknesses. It is reasonably well-developed, and the perfect strength is that innovations are coming on a quarterly basis. It is slightly behind other tools in terms of the number of graphical outputs. Some tools have it faster, but every increment of innovations contains new features. On the other hand, it is perfectly fitting to the SAP environment, with seamless integration to all SAP modules, not only ERP but also SuccessFactors and other tools from the SAP family, for example, integrated business planning for the production planning. This is really a highlight compared to other tools.

The solution is stable, scalable, and flexible
I rate the solution eight out of ten. The number of people required to maintain the solution is dependent on the other applications running. The solution in itself does not require a lot of maintenance. The solution is flexible and I recommend it when you have more complex applications with special requirements.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We have definitely seen a return on investment, as we save money and time by consolidating software licenses into one subscription, which is far easier to manage."
"The best features SAP Business Data Cloud offers is basically one solution for all analytics and planning applications, and the integration of all the third-party as well as SAP data sources in one platform allows us to deliver machine learning, analytics, and planning, making the decision-making process very easy with one platform."
"Its user-friendliness is valuable. It is a product for end-users and not for IT, which is an advantage."
"I like the product's capabilities. The clarity and scenarios are the main features that allow us to forecast using machine learning algorithms and make decisions."
"What my customers like best about SAP Analytics Cloud is the dashboard because it's pretty good."
"Technical support is helpful."
"The product's most valuable features are reporting and planning, driverless planning, business vertical-wise planning, dashboarding, forecasting tools, and business forecasting."
"SAP Business Data Cloud has positively impacted my organization by improving decision-making through real-time insights into what is changing in the business."
"The most valuable aspect of the solution is the ease of access to the data in those databases."
"The most valuable part of SAS/ACCESS is what it is made for: connecting to remote systems that are not part of your physical SAS environment."
"The SAS/ACCESS ability to connect creates an elegant simplicity."
"The most valuable feature is you have native access to the external databases."

Cons

"The product could improve by enhancing connectivity issues and speeding up response times for support queries."
"I would like to have more tabular reporting capabilities, like page reports."
"Statistical analysis should be a bit more profound than it is."
"The business intelligence features should be improved because there is a lack of functionality regarding that part."
"SAP could add some more visualization features to Analytics Cloud, like charts and analytics. I would also like to see some more data cleaning and ad hoc functions added to this solution."
"The scope is limited to a few accounts."
"Live Data Models are very slow and the setup can be improved, with tools such as Cloud Connector being inbuilt into SAP Analytics Cloud. Likewise, we need to write application code from scratch, rather than tweaking existing code, as we might with Excel macros. Moreover, when using responsive pages, the widgets get adjusted according to the mobile screen. As a result, when I place two or three KPI tiles, they can only be viewed tile-by-tile. We want to see the full dashboard on the mobile screen and zoom in to click on a particular section of the dashboard and go further into that. But displaying tile-by-tile makes it very annoying and the upper management using this dashboard might not be aware there are any more tiles to view."
"SAP Analytics cloud needs better exporting options."
"The pricing model needs to be reconsidered and adjusted."
"The solution can provide access to the newer databases that come out sooner."
"I can't really recall any missing feature or general improvement that is needed. We don't really add too many new kinds of databases and therefore our needs are already met."
"The solution's pricing and licensing are expensive."
"The primary way that this product can be improved is by adjusting their pricing model."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"SAP Analytics can be very costly to license, which can make it difficult for organizations to implement."
"It Wasn't directly involved in the pricing discussions, but when I joined the organization, they had already purchased the SAP Analytics Cloud solution. The organization faced challenges due to its perceived expense, leading to restrictions on granting access to many users."
"Its price is slightly on the higher side."
"The pricing of this product is reasonable."
"SAP pricing tends to be premium, so it is slightly higher."
"The product is expensive."
"The tool's pricing is medium, and licensing costs are yearly."
"Its licensing is on a monthly basis."
"The pricing model is complex and is based on modular packages as well as the size of the applicable environment."
"The solution's pricing and licensing are expensive."
