Centralized global HR data has improved expense control and supports secure employee management
The features of SAP HCM are valued by me as it had a clear idea about what was expected from the user point. The person or the application has a lot of features and it had actually all the information needed from our part. That aspect is nice. Apart from that, the T-codes are really helpful to understand which particular option we need when we put the T-code in the search box. The stability and reliability of SAP HCM product are really nice, very helpful, and secured. It has no point of leakage and is mostly reliable, as most companies and organizations prefer SAP over many tools. As for security, it's already secured from the beginning itself, and that is the only reason our organization relies on it. Since it's very useful at a global scale, it is a very useful tool and is very easy to access and handle.

Has required customization been difficult to implement and user experience remains a concern
We are quite satisfied with Odoo. We are able to add modules or apps whatever we require based on our company's requirements on our own. I find Odoo being more user-friendly, and making changes there is more accessible. Being Odoo partners allows us to make changes. In Zoho People Plus, we were just on a subscription basis, so it was not possible to make any changes based on the company's requirements, which made it a little difficult. As far as security or anything else is concerned, Zoho People Plus was also good, and many companies use it. We find Odoo a little better and user-friendly compared to Zoho People Plus. For time tracking, we were using Clockify, and we were using Jira and other products. Time tracking in Odoo is much more convenient and user-friendly compared to Zoho People Plus. We decided to switch because it was not very compatible with our system. Our employees were not comfortable. It was not as user-friendly as Odoo is. We became Odoo partners, which made it a better shift from Zoho People Plus.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution is stable, and recently the localization versions for different countries were increased, adding value to the solution."
"The feature I like most in SAP HCM is its effectiveness for talent management."
"Payroll is always the central area the tool focuses on. It needs to ensure things are flowing, employees are paid on time, and there are no issues related to location, pay, or hiring. SAP HCM helps observe all the work, from hiring to paying paychecks every month. It's a system that depends on the data you input. You don't want to work with bad data and expect miracles. If the data isn't clean, it's more work."
"SAP HCM is a competitive and comprehensive tool that covers major programs in the enterprise and supports the global process."
"The master data where most of the reports were run from was the most valuable, and we were quite satisfied with this module."
"Scalability is excellent, and I would rate it ten out of ten."
"The payroll suite is very valuable."
"The platform is simple to use and has a user-friendly dashboard and integration features."
"The most valuable feature of the solution is its analytics part."
"Zoho People has valuable features like simplicity in use and ease of configuration."
"We are quite satisfied with Odoo; we are able to add modules or apps whatever we require based on our company's requirements on our own."

Cons

"The speed of technical support can be improved."
"It would be nice if the solution migrated to S/4HANA, although this is not an immediate need of ours."
"The Core Talent Modules should have been improved, but SAP has introduced SuccessFactors, which has the best solution for Talent Management."
"I would say the speed of SAP HCM tool might need some optimization."
"SAP HCM could improve by having more resources and making it more user-friendly. It is complex."
"SAP HCM needs to improve its UI."
"On the personnel administration side, it's very difficult to do custom development."
"In my experience, SAP HCM and similar products are very good, but the focus now should be on providing features to encourage employee adoption. For example, accessing pay slips is a task that naturally drives adoption. However, AI tools that can prompt employees at the right time through the right application are needed for actions such as conducting surveys or gathering performance feedback."
"We decided to switch because it was not very compatible with our system. Our employees were not comfortable."
"The only challenge is if you are a European business based in Asia and you want to have your data on an EU server, it is a nightmare."
"There is also a need to improve the accessibility of historical employee data, making it as seamless as some other systems."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"SAP is extremely expensive. The integration costs and customization costs are also a lot."
"The pricing is really high."
"The cost depends on the size of the organization. Compared to others, I'd say Oracle is number one, followed by Workday and SAP HCM."
"SAP is expensive, but if you're using the product, then the expensive product becomes inexpensive. Considering its performance and features, I find it quite reasonable."
"The solution is cheap."
"The pricing is around the middle, at a five out of ten. But it depends on the number of licenses. More licenses mean lower per-user costs. You need to understand how to play the volume game and the growth."
"Licensing is pretty complex. SAP does not have a straight forward way of licensing, and it differs from client to client."
"For implementation, SAP offers little support unless you buy SAP Safeguarding from SAP Consulting."
"Zoho People Plus has a very competitive pricing model. The pricing part is tier-based, and it is eight Euros per user."
