Good at handling replication, provides cross-database replication but SAP can provide better support for cross-database replication to newer technologies
SAP can provide better support for cross-database replication to newer technologies. The product supports Oracle, but I am not aware of what other technologies it supports. If someone wants to replicate their data from Sybase to a newer technology for data warehousing or other purposes, it would be better if they supported those.

Low-code integrations have automated workflows and save time across enterprise applications
They can enhance the error handling and debugging part. Troubleshooting complex pipeline failures can be time-consuming. We are spending a lot of time on error handling. More detailed error messages and root cause analysis tools can be added, which will definitely improve the developer experience. In the Ultra real-time integrations, we can monitor the last execution history of only 100 runs. That can be increased, which would be one of the platform improvements that can really be taken. However, they are doing very well because lots of ChatGPTs and AI assistants have been added in the last two years, which makes a very good effect. SnapLogic is the only platform that provides this kind of visibility to the developers. Anyone, even if they have low experience and are starting their IT careers, can directly jump in and learn SnapLogic. The documentation is very easy to learn. Anyone, even a layman, can refer to that documentation and go through its Snap-pack to understand what configuration has to be done to use this Snap-pack. This makes SnapLogic definitely exceptional in the market. You won't find such comprehensive documentation in other iPaaS tools. The draggable packs truly demonstrate its power in usability. Governance and security are also well in place in SnapLogic, but there are areas for improvement. They can add more granular role and permission controls that provide greater flexibility for large enterprises. For example, if you have to provide access to 70 users in one shot, that can be improved. More improvements in policy enforcement capabilities are possible as well. SnapLogic can improve the data lineage part to achieve better end-to-end visibility into data movement. Also, during validation, we can only see up to 2,000 records currently. They can increase that from 2,000 to 20,000. They can put more visibility on costs and resource visibility, with better reporting on platform usage, processing consumption, and cost optimization opportunities.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It's pretty good at handling replication, even under high load. It also provides cross-database replication, for example, from Sybase to Oracle."
"This product has a catalog with the location of all the objects which were replicated, and it's very simple to maintain."
"We can customize any workflow and we also like the business domain modeling that can be done."
"Currently, there is a Hadoop-based infrastructure with several engineers to maintain the data, and now, using SAP Replication Server, it has become automatic and requires fewer people to put data in the data warehouse."
"SAP is renovating different things. We are using external tools to connect as of now. It is going well, and now the new generation integration platforms are going to be pretty easy."
"The most valuable thing about this product is that it replicates data between SAP databases (ASE to IQ) very successfully."
"We use this solution for all kinds of communications like RFC, BAPI, IDoc, connecting with the orders, accounts, finance, data stuff, banking, everything."
"It speeds up the performance in terms of how fast you are able to access the data, look at it, get it reported to you, and send it to somebody. It also reduces the amount of storage."
"SnapLogic has positively impacted my organization in terms of revenue and customer satisfaction."
"SnapLogic now serves as the intermediate layer between Kafka and Salesforce Marketing Cloud, a role I previously lacked tooling for."
"SnapLogic has positively impacted our organization by providing an alternative to Informatica, which was challenging due to licensing and other issues."
"The solution is great due to the fact that it is really flexible."
"It's more developer-friendly, and development can be done at a faster phase."
"Being developer-friendly and having diverse connections has significantly impacted my team and projects."
"SnapLogic has positively impacted my organization by costing a lot less than our previous ETLs, saving about 50 percent of our running costs without having done anything, just by using SnapLogic."
"After migrating from Informatica to SnapLogic Intelligent Integration Platform (IIP), we have seen specific outcomes, including saving almost 2 million dollars from one of our migration projects."

Cons

"It's a very expensive solution."
"Setup was a little complex."
"It's complex. It's necessary to understand a little about infrastructure, like network LAN and VLAN environment."
"If someone wants to replicate their data from Sybase to a newer technology for data warehousing or other purposes, it would be better if they supported those."
"I would like to see it become mobile-friendly."
"The private solution is expensive. If you're in a situation where you're paying IBM or AWS or somebody just to host you specifically, you're paying people to run it and you're taking care of all the upgrades."
"There is room for improvement in terms of pricing and faster support."
"Improvement is a never ending story, and HANA is doing some improvements. We are able to adopt that, and we have to do it by integration with HANA. They are very major changes that we need to see."
"The only thing I do not prefer at the minute about SnapLogic is when I go into the monitor, it can be a bit slow, so when I am trying to diagnose why something went wrong and I am searching, it can take a bit of time."
"The changes in the UI and the way things keep moving around mean that a level of stability would help achieve a higher adoption ratio."
"I am looking for more scheduling options. When it comes to scheduling, there are different tools in the market."
"That said, while the SnapLogic technical managers are very good, the support model isn't great and should improve."
"The dashboards regarding scheduled tasks need further improvement."
"When it comes to handling large volumes of data or high-throughput workloads, I have mixed opinions."
"I feel SnapLogic can be improved, particularly on the user interface side."
"I chose a rating of seven out of ten because I feel SnapLogic's AI can be substantially better in this day and age."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It's a very expensive solution."
"You can pick one of the hosted cloud services as opposed to owning it and doing it yourself. Your cost of ownership on the hardware, the data storage, and the maintenance all go down. It depends on what service you use."
"The cost with SnapLogic is an annual license and better than Informatica."
"They have pricing/usage tiers that are easy to move up or down."
"I used the free trial."
"By scaling the solution incrementally the cost is controlled and more beneficial to the client."
"From the ROI perspective, the price is extremely high"
"When comparing it with solutions like Apigee or MuleSoft, it still offers better value."
"It is a higher initial cost than other easy-to-use integration apps."
"The license model is based on consumption."
