Have prioritized security while managing multi-agent data migration and cloud adoption
We utilize Time Travel with Snowflake because this is a very useful feature. Everyone finds it crucial because in conventional data platforms, it's very difficult to handle these kinds of things. This feature is essential, though I don't have the use cases currently; it is just there for implementation. Regarding Snowflake's automated scaling and suspension features, this auto-scaling is very significant. We had a comparison with Databricks and Snowflake a few months back, and this auto-scaling takes an edge within Snowflake; that's what our observation reflects.

Semantic models have transformed data management and save significant time and effort
The best features that Stardog Enterprise Knowledge Graph Platform offers include the inbuilt semantic model import, which helps to navigate through the enterprise knowledge. The inbuilt semantic model imports help me in my day-to-day work or projects; if an import option would not have been available, then it would have been a very tough, tedious job to do that. The features of Stardog Enterprise Knowledge Graph Platform are very user-friendly and they help to navigate easily. Regarding Stardog Enterprise Knowledge Graph Platform's AI capabilities, I think its governance and security features are essential, especially in financial organizations, where the data is very sensitive. I find the accuracy and reliability of output from Stardog Enterprise Knowledge Graph Platform looks very promising.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The overall package is quite nice, and there is not one specific feature that I have found more valuable than the others."
"It is definitely a good tool and a good database without any adoption problems."
"The distributed architecture of Snowflake has the capacity to process huge datasets faster and allows us to scale up and down according to our needs."
"My advice for anybody who is considering Snowflake is that it is a really good product, especially if you are having issues with Big Data."
"The way it is built and designed is valuable. The way the shared model is built and the way it exploits the power of the cloud is very good. Certain features related to administration and management, akin to Oracle Flashback and all that, are very important for modern-day administration and management. It is also good in terms of managing and improving performance, indexing, and partitioning. It is sort of completely automated. Everything is essentially under the hood, and the engine takes care of it all. As a data warehouse on the cloud, Snowflake stands strong on its ground even though each of the cloud providers has its own data warehouse, such as Redshift for AWS or Synapse for Azure."
"It is very fast and the performance is great."
"It is one of the few products in which everything demos well."
"Time travel is one feature that really helps us out."
"Stardog helped us to consolidate, join, and bring the data together and helped us to create the data model, and now I have good traceability for cells from raw material till cell creation and all the data on the way."
"They have beautifully built these AI capabilities, and they work very well."
"Stardog Enterprise Knowledge Graph Platform has positively impacted my organization since it has been used for more than four to five years, and everyone has been positively affected by the use of it."
"The inbuilt semantic model imports help me in my day-to-day work or projects; if an import option would not have been available, then it would have been a very tough, tedious job to do that."

Cons

"Snowflake has to build more capabilities because they have only built very few adapters, but they're growing and they're building."
"Snowpipe auto-ingest should be automatic."
"They have a new console, but I couldn't figure out anything in the new console. So, if I shift to the old console, I can figure out where to create the database schema and other things, but I have no idea where to go in the new console. That's one thing they can improve. I don't know why they created a new console to confuse. The old, classic console is much better."
"From an improvement perspective, Snowflake can evolve in terms of writing costly, expensive queries with less cost and try to see if pipeline development can be made a little easier."
"I am still in the learning stage. It has good security, but it can always be more secure."
"We would like to have an on-premises deployment option that has the same features, including scalability."
"It's difficult to know how to size everything correctly."
"Snowflake can improve its machine learning and AI capabilities."
"Query performance is inconsistent."
"Stardog Enterprise Knowledge Graph Platform can be improved in some features such as exporting the information to a required format."
"My experience with customer support for Stardog Enterprise Knowledge Graph Platform was a bit weak because the problem that we told Stardog support was very basic, and they were not able to get an answer to that for months."
"Another software called Neo4j provides some more features compared to Stardog Enterprise Knowledge Graph Platform."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"You pay based on the data that you are storing in the data warehouse and there are no maintenance costs."
"Users have to pay a licensing fee for the solution, which is expensive."
"We use Snowflake pretty heavily. We pay a significant amount of money for the tool. I'd say we pay $300k to $400K every year."
"They give a different price for every single company. I don't know if I negotiated that well, but we got the enterprise tier for $3 a credit, and the other two were a dollar-ninety a credit. I suspect we don't have almost zero compute usage, but I know that our annual contract packages are below all of their minimums."
"The price of the solution is reasonable."
"Snowflake goes by credits. For a financial institution where you have 5,000 employees, monthly costs may run up to maybe $5,000 to $6,000. This is actually based on the usage. It is mostly the compute cost. Your computing cost is the variable that is actually based on your usage. It is pay-per-use. In a pay-per-use case, you won't be spending more than $6,000 to $7,000 a month. It is not more than that for a small or medium enterprise, and it may come down to $100K per year. Storage is very standard, which is $23 a terabyte. It is not much for any enterprise. If you have even 20 terabytes, you are not spending more than $400 per month, which may turn out to be $2,000 to $3,000 per annum."
"Snowflake’s pricing is transparent. It is one of the cheapest cloud database warehouse providers. The tool follows a credit cost model. Everything on Snowflake is charged on the basis of credits. The credits depend on the cloud region and the public cloud provider that we use. Hence, the cost per credit will be different for AWS in Frankfurt and AWS in India. I think North Virginia is the cheapest region in terms of cost per credit. You will be consuming around 16 credits for large data warehouses."
"Snowflake has consumption-based costs; users only pay for storage and computing."
