Gained full visibility and streamlined threat detection through behavior-based insights and AI integration
Initially, we got to have a lot of false positives when we onboarded, but nowadays it's quite smooth. We have fine-tuned our security policies and allowed different levels of policies to get rid of those false positives. Currently, we are getting a fairly good amount of incidents that are not false positives or benign, but actionable items. The process is streamlined. In the initial days, the operations used to get involved in a lot of benign and other activities, but now the process is streamlined. We are leveraging the auto-detection and remediation plans. The operations teams are now more involved in other business roles as well, not just looking into the logs and fetching out what's happening there. They have fixed a lot of things. Initially, they didn't have IAC code drift detection, cloud posture management, or security posture management, but they have those now. They purchased different vendors and did a merger with that. They have now Prisma Cloud that gets integrated and now they are working with Cortex Cloud. Everything that was negative has now been addressed, and the product altogether looks to be in a very better and mature shape now. Currently, it's more or less detecting the workloads with AI-based best practices. Since most organizations are consuming AI agents and other things, we are looking forward to seeing what other feature enhancements Palo Alto can support in that.

Protects the global station and has good stability
The feature I find most valuable is that it protects the global station The solution's integration with the Windows environment could be better. The solution needs better integration with products, if it did, it would have the assumption of better security. I've been using the solution since…

Centralized console has improved visibility while setup remains quick on diverse environments
I don't know why I find it valuable; my colleague administrated it, but I was the chief of a team of six people, and one of them administered this product, which worked well for defending our servers. I don't know what the best features of Trend Vision One Endpoint Security are; it performs well compared to other products, and I am curious about it, but I cannot think of specific features. Perhaps my colleagues could provide that information, but I do not have that knowledge. The centralized console helps my team greatly; it is very convenient as everything is all in one console, not only EDR but many other products, such as email security and XDR features. Trend Vision One Endpoint Security positively impacts our organization as it is very simple to install on Windows and Linux servers; it is not very difficult to install.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable features are the fact that it was running in the background and it would intercept any weird stuff, and the fact that it would send things directly to the cloud for sandboxing. It's quite practical."
"Cortex XDR is stable, offering high quality and reliable performance."
"The protection offered by this product is good, as is the endpoint reporting."
"Cortex is the best solution for avoiding security breaches, malware attacks, and other kinds of security issues."
"Palo Alto is one of the tech vendors that always provides top-of-the-line products."
"After installing this solution, it identified, blocked, and provided the complete attack chain, which was very helpful."
"The product is very good, it has caught a lot of exploits that most products would not."
"There has been a significant reduction of approximately 70% to 80% in our internal MTTR and MTTD metrics, now around five to eight minutes whereas previously it was hours, which has helped tremendously."
"It is very good for preventing cryptolocker attacks."
"The feature I find most valuable is that it protects the global station."
"If you need a Windows based multi-functional end-point security solution then this product is for you."
"I like Apex One's DLP and EDR features. The DLP is a good solution because it allows you to push policies. Source detection is another one. It automatically detects malicious IPs, domains, and URLs. Most of the time, it works automatically, but sometimes it doesn't quarantine or block, so we have to perform remediation manually and delete the file or application through Power Shell."
"Trend Micro Apex One has good features and is lightweight."
"Device control works well, and the anti-malware updates are also pretty good. Every two or three weeks, you get updates. The frequency of the release of new definitions is quite good. We had peace of mind."
"Trend Micro Apex One is very stable."
"It is available on our OS platform and will automatically scan our machines daily or weekly."
"Trend Micro in that sense is a very good product as it allows us to have access to the database all the time."
"The web console is quite helpful, as is the visibility view for deployment. Updates do things like Device Control Management, which I can control."
"It provides comprehensive visibility into all client logs and seamlessly integrates with other products, such as CM."

Cons

"It should support more mobile operating systems. That is one of the cons of their infrastructure right now."
"This is a very costly product."
"Enhancing UI simplicity and playbook flexibility are areas that could benefit from more low-code automation options for smoother integrations."
"The MAC agent is not as robust feature-wise as the PC version."
"Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks can improve mobile integration to allow access to the console."
"It takes time to scan the servers and devices."
"The solution should enhance the ADR and reporting."
"The server sometimes stops continuously to check things so it would be helpful to receive access updates or technical reasons."
"Release speed for newer versions. When a new OS is released, you've got to wait half year to get the new version that covers the new Windows OS."
"Only Windows based. Dependence on MS updates and service start-up priority."
"The solution's integration with the Windows environment could be better."
"The solution should adjust its pricing for the smaller market we are in."
"The product can be a bit heavy."
"This software could affect the performance of your device negatively, particularly causing slow performance after installation."
"The CPU usage when scanning is too high and we have run into bottlenecks were it consumes a lot of CPU time."
"We sometimes face issues with policies and rules while working with Apex One. They sometimes do not work."
"I am expecting an Apple featured IDLP solution with OfficeScan, where we have only IDLP. Also, the ADR functionality in our Office Scan solution would be a nice addition. Genrally, the ADR solutions are the only failed ends of the solutions we have found with Trend Micro."
"I think that this product needs to improve the data loss prevention port."
"The performance could always be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The solution is expensive. It's pricing is on a yearly-basis."
"The tool's price is moderate."
"It is "expensive" and flexible."
"We didn't have to pay any additional fee for the cloud instance. It just came with the renewal, which was nice."
"It is cost-effective compared to similar solutions. It fits for the small businesses through to the big businesses."
"It has reasonable pricing for the use cases it provides to the company."
"The return on investment is from the user side because we have seen the performance of it increase the delivery time of the product if we are using too many web-based and on-premise applications. In indirect ways, we saw the return of investment in terms of performance and user satisfaction increase."
"Every customer has to pay for a license because it doesn't work with what you get from a managed services provider."
Information not available
"The license fee for 300 users is approximately $2,000 USD and $500 USD for the implementation cost."
"The price of the solution was expensive in the first year we had it because we were purchasing it locally. This year we have a global discount for the license. There is an additional cost if you want maintenance support."
"Licensing fees are paid on a yearly basis."
"Its pricing was good. It is very competitive with all the other vendors."
"There are licenses for Apex One's individual security features, so it depends on what the customer needs. But in general, Trend Micro is cheap, and many customers require it."
"Apex One's pricing is highly competitive. That's one advantage. We compared the pricing of solutions that do everything we want, and others are more expensive than what we have. There are no additional maintenance fees, but we have a support contract that we renew annually."
"It's an annual subscription."
"The price of the solution is reasonable."
