The Sandbox is a very useful solution for sand-boxing malware / phishing etc.
Pros and Cons
  • "Email Sandbox, DLP and Proxy."
  • "Reports in the sand-boxing, ease of deployment of sensors to ready to go server with one click of a button."

What is most valuable?

Email Sandbox, DLP and Proxy.

How has it helped my organization?

The Sandbox is a very useful solution for sand-boxing malware / phishing etc. from corporate email accounts. No matter whether it's on Office 365, Exchange (on-premise), or Google (or any other cloud). The Sandbox updates on a regular basis, and the flexibility of policy configuration, white-listing is pretty good.

What needs improvement?

Reports in the sand-boxing, ease of deployment of sensors to ready to go server with one click of a button.

I think there is room to improve the reporting area of the solution and also the investigation part, a basic section where you see the body and headers of each email and the reason it got blocked.

For how long have I used the solution?

Six years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

If you implement it correctly you wont have an issue.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

If you implement it correctly you wont have an issue.

How are customer service and technical support?

Support by vendor is low-medium. You need to rely on yourself or your integrator.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Mcafee GW. Wasn't satisfied at all both in the general UI and ease of configuration.

How was the initial setup?

Straightforward. Very easy to implement.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Expensive, but with a good reseller you can get a very good price.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I'm familiar with plenty of competitor solutions, tried most of the top solutions.

What other advice do I have?

Get your self a good reseller, and good integrator (don't do it by yourself).

Somewhat decent for the price, but extended functionality and filtering is lacking.

Valuable Features:

It is fairly easy to setup and use. I like the way you can have varying policies based on users and IP address ranges. Preset categories cover many websites, and can be useful if you are setting policies based on security only, or if you need to really lock systems down.

Room for Improvement:

AD authentication is buggy and not very effective. Sometimes the policies are applied immediately, sometimes after 5 minutes. The only sure way to filter is to set static IPs, which is not effective network management. Many websites are not filtered. Many categories don't include commonly used sites. Malware can slip through easily.

Other Advice:

For the functionality, the price is fair. Easy to manage and simple to deploy if you are using basic features. Tech support is not very helpful. I have suggested numerous changes that could be made, but nobody responded.

User-friendly and makes it really easy to control traffic
Pros and Cons
  • "Forcepoint Secure Web Gateway is a user-friendly solution."
  • "The solution has complexity with the databases, and we have to manually clear old data logs."

What is our primary use case?

I'm currently using the solution for the internet traffic controller for the application end.

What is most valuable?

The solution makes it really easy to control traffic, whitelisting, and the GUI environment. Forcepoint Secure Web Gateway is a user-friendly solution. Functionality-wise, we never experience any threats, and we also face no issues with the bandwidth. We are currently using load balancing, which is running smoothly.

What needs improvement?

The solution has complexity with the databases, and we have to manually clear old data logs.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Forcepoint Secure Web Gateway for two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I rate the solution’s stability an eight out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is suitable for all company sizes, including small, medium, and enterprise businesses.

I rate the solution an eight out of ten for scalability.

How are customer service and support?

The technical support team needs to improve its engineer count because fewer engineers are working in the support team.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend Forcepoint Secure Web Gateway to other users.

Overall, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

On-premises

Excellent tool for monitoring and managing web usage
Pros and Cons
  • "The most valuable feature is the ability to allow or block sites by category."
  • "An area for improvement would be the classification of websites - it can take a long time for new websites to be classified."

What is our primary use case?

My primary use of this solution is to help our customers filter their security and their users' usage. They can optimize internet traffic and block or allow sites.

How has it helped my organization?

This solution allows us to control web usage to ensure that our employees use the internet for business research only. It also monitors all employees' traffic, so it gives alerts for searches and can block any websites not allowed by company policies. This means the company can ensure our employees make the best use of their time and get the most value from the internet itself.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature is the ability to allow or block sites by category.

What needs improvement?

An area for improvement would be the classification of websites - it can take a long time for new websites to be classified.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been working with this solution for about four years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

This solution is very stable because it gives users the ability to have high availability and clustering.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

This solution is scalable but may require a change of hardware in order to handle big changes.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Previously, I used Symantec Blue Coat, which is easier to implement than Forcepoint but has more technical issues.

How was the initial setup?

Implementation can take some time, but there are lots of resources online to help.

What other advice do I have?

I would give this solution a score of nine out of ten.
