Google Firebase is more than just a database service. It is a complete platform by Google that is incredibly versatile for mobile and web app development.

The most valuable feature of Google Firebase is its user-friendliness. Since Firebase was the first database I used, it is hard for me to compare it to others. However, what stands out is how straightforward and easy it was to work with. Its simplicity makes it quite handy for my needs in app development. Firebase makes it incredibly easy to build relationships between tables and set up database structures. It feels like a seamless drag-and-drop experience, which saves a lot of time compared to starting from scratch with other MySQL services.

Google Firebase doesn't need significant improvements because it provides a complete package for databases, crash analytics, and reports. 

I have used Google Firebase for a short period of time while working on a few projects.

I wouldn't describe it as a highly scalable product. Firebase is more of a set of essential services provided by Google for building various applications. Its scalability depends on the specific services and resources you choose within Firebase to meet your application's needs.

I have not had any need to contact technical support.

The initial setup is fairly easy and it is done online. 

Google Firebase can be affordable when used in your own app, as many features have free tiers. However, if you are selling an app with extensive Firebase use, costs may go up. It's not too expensive, but it's crucial to pick a pricing plan that fits your business.

My advice to people who are considering using Firebase is to evaluate their app's needs to determine if Firebase is a suitable fit. Firebase is versatile and offers features beyond just databases, such as crash analytics, which can be incredibly helpful. It provides detailed insights into crashes, when they occur, and on which devices, making bug tracking and resolution much easier. Overall, I would rate it an eight out of ten.

I use Google Firebase for its database file storage.

The most valuable features of Google Firebase are its database, noSQL database, file storage, authentication, and notifications.

I had a problem deleting the user's files, and I had to move to the paid plan to do that. They have added a plugin to allow you to do that, but I've not implemented that yet. Google Firebase should add extra functionality to do global delete and updates across your database.

I have been using Google Firebase for three years.

The solution provides authentification. It's a real-time database with tracking features. We also use it as a NoSQL database to restore data, and we also use some analytics, remote config, web hosting, and cloud functionality for APIs.

We can focus on developing Mobile app, while relying on the Firebase for the backend (data, file storage, authentication, notification, API). And it is very cheap for hosting the backend so Firebase is really good for start-up company to quickly launch a new product ideas into the market 

We're able to use the solution in several processes.

For example, we developed a mobile app, and in the mobile app, we developed an authentication service for authentication for a login feature. And we use real-time for charts and Firestore to store data, and remote config to do some application settings remotely. 

For another project, we use it in a rather similar way. However, in this scale, we use the cloud function for the API and use Firestore as a database.

It's also great for web hosting, analysis, and CRAFTalytics that we use to measure the craft of the app.

The initial setup is not exactly straightforward. 

They really need to work on their performance. It is not so good.

I've been using the solution for 4 years.

The performance is not good. That said, it doesn't crash. We'd like the stability, in general, to be more reliable. 

I've not experienced scalability. It's a new app, and the number of users is not that much, so we haven't seen scalability in action. 

That said, I have noted that the response of the server is not very good. The APIs sometimes take ten seconds to return data. It's running slow. Normally, people expect the data to be returned within two seconds.

We have five developers using the solution right now. It is still a new system. Since the response time is slow, we likely won't be expanding usage. 

I've never used technical support.

Besides Firebase, we also have Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS, and while Firebase is rather cheaper than the other tools, its performance and response time is slow. I'm not really sure that we should expand the number of users on the platform.

Azure has the best performance, yet it's the most expensive. AWS is something in between Firebase and Azure. So, the price is higher with Azure and its performance is a little bit better than Firebase.

It's not straightforward to set up the whole way through. Some of it is easy to use like remote config and web hosting. However, other areas, like cloud functions in real-time on the database, are not easy.

The deployment is quick. You just need one person to manage the process. They are an admin engineer.

For stability, we have a strict testing version process and also production. We have to create two Firebase environments for each of them, and there is no transition between station to production so, which is one limitation of the size and scope.

We handled the initial setup in-house. 

The pricing is pretty good. It's less than Azure and AWS.

We pay for a private license.

You can use some of Google's services and it's okay. The functionality, the authentication, and the notifications of Firebase are really good, so it's what I strongly recommend people to use, however, the database the real-time functionality is not good. 

I'd rate the solution seven out of ten.

I primarily use the solution for various cloud functions. I build applications on it. I also use the Firestore and the database. I use authentication as well. 

The authentification is very valuable to me. 

There are several server functions that are valuable to my use case. 

It's easy to use.

The documentation is very extensive.

The cost is reasonable. 

They have discontinued some very valuable features, including the Firebase UI that I used to log in. They are no longer supporting that feature for authentication.

The cloud functionality can always be better. We cannot, for example, use it outside Google. 

There are some features that are only available online. There aren't very many things you can do in your local environment. 

I've been using the solution for five years. 

The solution is stable and reliable. I'd rate the stability out of ten. Out of all of the platforms I have used, it's the best. I'd rate it 9.5 out of ten for stability. 

I don't have much experience with scaling. My understanding is it can only be used in Google servers and within the Google environment, so you can't scale beyond Google. 

I'm not sure how many people in my organization use it. 

The solution would be a fit for small or medium-sized companies thanks to the ease of development. 

I've never really used technical support. However, they do provide lots of great documentation that pretty much answers all of my questions. 

The deployment process is very straightforward. It's easy. I wouldn't call it complex at all. What I deploy normally doesn't take much time. I don't deploy large blocks of software. I can deploy things in ten minutes or so. 

The ROI is okay. If we deploy an application and it is something that generates an income, that isn't really related to Firebase. However, the cost is very low. 

The pricing is reasonable. They have general plans. You choose what you need. I haven't really used anything above the free plan. The little bit of money I have to pay is fine. The last amount I paid was about $10 a month. 

I considered working with Amazon. However, the process was too tedious. I moved over to Google as it was more straightforward and easy to learn. 

I'm an end-user. 

I am using the latest version of the solution. 

I highly recommend the solution to anyone who wants to start working in the cloud. The time to market is very short, and the ease of use is great. It offers great resources. 

I'd rate the solution nine out of ten overall.

I'm using Google Firebase for Backend as a Service, while in the front end, I'm using AppGyver. The major use case for Google Firebase is that it's a backend server for mobile applications.

The most beautiful feature of Google Firebase is that it gives you a lot of functionalities out of the box, without you having to develop or having to complete a solution. For example, identity management is integrated, and security is out of the box, particularly security for the user and the ability of each user to see his data.

I also like that Google Firebase has a really good performance and is comparable to MongoDB. It's on the same level, and sometimes, it's on an even higher level than MongoDB.

Other functions that Google Firebase has that I find valuable include information dissemination, mail automation, and SMS, available out of the box.

Another valuable feature of the solution is that it allows you to develop some functionalities on the server side, so you can write JavaScript functions on the server side and use those functions quite easily. Google Firebase gives you almost a full backend environment out of the box without you having to do any deployments or a lot of administration because all administration is given out of the box.

There's always room for improvement in every product, and the major improvement that's needed in Google Firebase is its simplification, particularly for unsavvy users or non-technical users. If you're not tech-savvy, it would be very difficult for you to use the functions of the solution and understand its security rules.

If you want even non-technical people to find it easy to use Google Firebase, it should be simplified because the difference between screen-derived management and code-derived management isn't complex, so simplification wouldn't be an issue.

Another area for improvement in the solution is the functionality of querying a database, for example, the database in my company is DocumentDB, but Google Firebase doesn't support SQL queries, and using SQL language will dramatically increase usage. Each database has its language for querying, and I like SQL which is a standard query language. It's really difficult to query databases because, on each database, you have to learn a different language, so in DocumentDB and some other databases, there's a layer that gives you the ability to query with regular SQL language, but Google Firebase doesn't have that layer or functionality.

An additional feature I'd like to see in the next version of the solution is better querying. Another feature I'd like added to Google Firebase is for the security to be derived by screens, rather than by code, meaning that it can be automated by screens, and not by coding, then you can take it out of the development area, so it can be maintained by non-tech savvy users.

I've been using Google Firebase for almost one year now.

Google Firebase is stable and is significantly more stable than other solutions, for example, MongoDB. Per my usage of the solution at a start-up level, I haven't experienced any problems with it in terms of stability, but I've read that some customers complain about it.

Google Firebase is a scalable solution.

I never needed to contact Google Firebase technical support because I could manage any issue myself as the documentation for the solution was self-explanatory.

I reviewed and compared Google Firebase against different Backend as a Service, or backend solutions for mobile devices, such as Backendless and Xano. There's also MongoDB which is a huge database, but it's on a different level and focuses. Eventually, I chose to go with Google Firebase because of its functionality and cost. The solution was cheaper than the others, so it was better in terms of cost and functionality.

Google Firebase is SaaS and cloud-based, so it's really easy and straightforward to set up, even if you don't have that much knowledge about it.

Pricing for Google Firebase is not so expensive, and if you're a start-up with a small amount of data, it will be quite cheap, and there's even a free tier that you can use. If you're doing a pilot with a reasonable amount of data, for example, just a few gigabytes, it's still on the free tier. If you increase the amount of data, Google Firebase pricing is still reasonable.

The solution has two levels of pricing: the no-cost and the pay-as-you-go. The no-cost pricing level means that if you do AB testing, analytics, app distribution, app indexing, authentication, and storage on the free tier, you can do ten thousand authentications a month for free. For ten thousand email authentications or mobile authentications, it's also free. For fifty thousand identification management and identity checks, it's free. One gigabyte of storage is free, and ten gigabytes for networking is also free. Twenty thousand documents a day is free.

For pay-as-you-go, it's one cent per authentication if you are in the United States. If you are outside of the United States, it will cost you six cents per authentication. For storage after one gigabyte, it'll be ten cents per additional gigabyte, for example, two gigabytes amount to ten cents, three gigabytes would cost twenty cents, and so on.

I evaluated AppGyver, and I'm using it together with Google Firebase. I also evaluated Backendless, Xano, and MongoDB.

I'm using the cloud version of Google Firebase, so it's just one version and it's always the latest version.

Three developers, myself included, use Google Firebase. As the solution is SaaS, most of the heavy maintenance is handled by Google, but it's my team who handles the application administration and maintenance.

My advice for users of DocumentDB and Google Firebase is to first make sure that DocumentDB is the right solution because, at the start, DocumentDB would be good enough, but as you're growing your applications, you'll realize that DocumentDB isn't the only solution, or isn't the right solution for you. This means that the cost of ownership becomes much, much bigger, so my first advice is to focus on the type of database and figure out what's the best database for you, whether it's a relational database or another type. As soon as you get your answer, you'll find that Google Firebase has a very wide range of solutions it can support.

My rating for Google Firebase is nine out of ten because it's a good solution and it's maintained by Google, and Google has invested enough in it.

The most valuable feature of the solution stems from the fact that its messaging system is very good. Firebase Crashlytics is also very good.

In Google Firebase, reporting is an area with shortcomings where improvements are required to be made in the future. Sometimes, it's not easy to retrieve data based on the pre-defined reports. There are some things you would like to measure, and it gets really hard to gather from the reports in Google Firebase, so there is a need to make available a custom report.

Google Firebase is easy to maintain, and only one person is required to maintain it.

If someone is looking for a scalable and cheap solution, I would suggest they use Google Firebase.

My company uses Google Firebase for the product we are trying to develop.

The most valuable feature of the solution is that it has built-in accelerators, which makes it easy for us to implement the products, especially the state management, authentication, and authorization.

I would prefer Google Firebase to focus more on its integration capabilities since it is an area in the solution with certain shortcomings. Though Google Firebase does a lot of things, there is no clear documentation for code insights. The product is not easily available for a person to understand, so a person has to do a lot of experiments to understand how things happen in the background. Google Firebase should try to simplify its product for others to implement it, but the code insights or functionalities are not available, and there are no explanations available on what it can and cannot do.

I have been using Google Firebase for a couple of months. I use the solution's latest version.

Stability-wise, I rate the solution a seven out of ten since I haven't used the product enough to see its performance under various circumstances.
