I was trying to get an idea of where some of the gaps were in my business specifically, where I should target my efforts using Heavy.AI for interactive analytics or graphics.
I was trying to leverage specific locations of where some of the areas might be for me to hit for my territories with Heavy.AI.
Heavy.AI is not deployed in my organization. It's just me. I just did a one-off.
The best features Heavy.AI offers make it pretty easy to do what you need to do once you understand how to. It's pretty straightforward to pick up, but there's always a learning curve with anything when I say it's easy once you understand it. You are going to have to spend some time trying to figure some things out.
Heavy.AI is something I could do in Tableau as well. It was just more of a here's another way to do it. It's more of an alternative to what I already have, but when you're analyzing stuff and trying to get visual representations of things, being able to see it in different ways from different styles or whatever might give you different intel.
I think whenever you're using these tools, you want it to be as conversational as possible, and I think more of that would be helpful for Heavy.AI. Allowing you to ask questions on how to do things inside of Heavy.AI and have it actually show you how to do it as you're doing it would be beneficial. That way you don't have to spend a lot of time trying things out through trial and error. Trial and error can be helpful because you're learning it that way, but at the same time, when you're just trying to do things quickly and you're not a professional or a user that uses it all the time, you might not have that. So you want to be able to get that information quickly and easily.
Some aspects I didn't like, but some of it's just like, "of course not." I wish I could snap my fingers and have everything be perfect, but that's not realistic. The infrastructure is probably fairly expensive. I can't afford to do that. I would need my business, the company that I work for to do it for us. Otherwise I can't really do it. It's just expensive.
I did feel that it was pretty easy to use, but I'm a little bit more experienced than the average person, so maybe someone less technical like my colleagues would struggle initially to figure it out. I think maybe enhancing the user-friendliness for people that are not coders, just kind of setting up the workflows and things so it's just easier would help. It seems to be more purpose-built for spatial stuff, for location plus time and things, but general purpose BI is kind of an important thing. I don't think people were actually taking advantage of that, and when they're not doing that, it creates a little bit of trouble.
I didn't choose Heavy.AI, and I've been constantly evaluating other solutions. I've used Microsoft BI quite a bit. There was some intelligence that I was using from IBM called Cognos. I don't even know if that's what it's called anymore. I've also evaluated Snowflake, Databricks, and Tableau.
There were no crashes or downtime. Heavy.AI felt pretty stable to me. It's definitely a plus. I didn't mention that earlier because I didn't really think about it until asked.
I don't actually know about Heavy.AI's scalability because I didn't use monstrous-sized databases. They were very small. The type of thing that you wouldn't really need to create some sort of intense integration. It was just pretty simple and straightforward.
I didn't engage with Heavy.AI's customer service, but I should have tested that. I think having something built into the tool where you don't have to leave, you can engage with support and maybe it's an agentic layer of support built into the system would be beneficial. But I didn't have that experience. If it was there, I didn't know it, but that might be something worth exploring.
I've talked about Heavy.AI a lot, and I didn't switch. I'm going to continue to use these other solutions because I don't have to pay for them. Tableau is more specifically what we use. For some other things, I would use Snowflake. That's kind of my go-tos.

It's hard to measure at this point regarding whether I have seen a return on investment with Heavy.AI.
My experience with that was expensive to do for myself, so I had to get the company to sort of allow me to do it for Heavy.AI. But it all depends. If I'm a massive corporation, then it's not a big deal. But as a one-off, it's a little bit expensive. I don't think it would be so easy for me to make the case for an ROI for our business, especially because we already own and have major partnerships with Snowflake, Databricks, and Tableau. Obviously we own the company, so that factors into the decision.
I'm not a programmer, and I'm not somebody that has a ton of technical acumen. Heavy.AI being able to do these things without having that background was powerful for me. I usually use Tableau because I get that through my business for free. It's because we own the company. Snowflake is a little bit complex, but I thought Heavy.AI was pretty good as well. It was easy for me to render the stuff.

I can compare Heavy.AI to some other things, and I was getting things that felt real. I was getting very good accuracy with it. It's hard to know exactly what is and what isn't accurate, but if somebody asked what the percentage of accuracy I thought I was getting from this tool, I'd probably say anywhere between 85 to 90%. It did a lot of error correction on its own and fixed some of these things within the loop. It was doing math pretty easily as well, and that felt pretty exact. If I was saying something that was not really like an ambiguous type of question, I felt it wouldn't necessarily give me the answer. But it's not its fault because the question itself was a little ambiguous. So it's hard to know exactly.
Don't get frustrated right away if it seems too hard to figure out using Heavy.AI because you just spend a little bit of time and you'll get there. When you start using it, you start to see things open up, but just keep an open mind. It seems to be a newer platform. My overall rating for this review is 6.
Heavy.AI is my main tool for large-scale data plotting and analysis. We have a lot of geographical data which we process for IoT vehicle fleets and cell tower pings. For this, we analyze and plot the data. We also need a lot of CPU processing, so Heavy.AI helps us significantly in those cases.
A specific example of how I use Heavy.AI with vehicle fleet data involves AI-enabled hardware and sophisticated fleet asset management and fleet safety solutions that help with inspecting, maintaining, and managing our fleets. This helps our clients manage these fleets effectively.
The best features Heavy.AI offers are the CPU processing, analytics, and real-time geospatial visualization, which is excellent.
The real-time geospatial visualization helps my team by allowing us to create native dashboard maps instantly from large amounts of data, especially time-series data, along with multi-layer geographical data. Heavy.AI handles complex data very well.
Heavy.AI has impacted my organization positively, considering that geospatial data processing is one of our biggest services. Heavy.AI has been an integral part of providing these services to our clients.
Heavy.AI can be improved since it is a very large and comprehensive tool. For someone who does not have expertise in the tool, they will struggle somewhat, so I think it could be made easier for people.
The only other improvement Heavy.AI needs is increased user adoption.

We did see a saving of time and cost because we had a one-stop shop where we could access GPU utilization along with plotting of geographical data. It saved us a lot of time and money.

I have been using Heavy.AI as part of our services, embedded with our existing platform to serve in the package of our solution to our clients. My main use case for Heavy.AI within our platform is to help with agent assistance to improve the customer experience by seeing every conversation that happens between the client and the customers.
A quick, specific example of how Heavy.AI helps with agent assistance is that in every single conversation between the contact center and the customers, the AI agent helps the human agent connect the conversation with the knowledge base, and the outcome is that the average handling time is low as we are using the agent assistance.
Heavy.AI has helped reduce handling times and improved agent performance significantly. If we are not using the agent assistant with the human agent fully intervening, the average handling time is almost six minutes per customer, but if we are using the agent assistant, we can get the average handling time down to almost four minutes, allowing us to reduce two minutes every conversation.
In our organization, we use Heavy.AI specifically for vertical solutions, focusing on the BFSI and healthcare verticals, where the agent assistant is a part of our services to handle the two verticals I mentioned.
The best features Heavy.AI offers in my experience include the agentic analysis. It is not just about replying automatically but also about providing solutions and referring to the knowledge base in the backend, which leads to effective solutions for our customers in every single conversation.
It is very easy for our agents to use this feature in their daily work. The integration with the technology is fine because we connect it with our in-house platform, but it can be a struggle when providing services to connect APIs with another platform specifically for the client, as this involves many activities to integrate because of different APIs needed to connect with our solution.
Heavy.AI has positively impacted our organization by reducing human intervention, allowing us to lower costs, specifically the manpower cost involved in every implementation solution to our clients.
We have been able to reduce manpower costs significantly. For example, when we see how the number reduces when using agentic AI, especially in the Telco verticals, we must also consider the customer demographics, which are moving rapidly towards digital activity, making our solutions impactful.
Heavy.AI can be improved in agility to connect with multiple verticals, which is the first area, and the second is to analyze the business processes to prepare solutions for many verticals, as we approach this on a vertical basis.
Both technical and user experience improvements are needed. Specifically, the AI should respond faster, and the features should enhance the AI engine's learning based on the many conversations happening daily in the operation, which will improve the knowledge base.
Regarding Heavy.AI's governance and security capabilities, I suggest that in Indonesia, hosting the platform must be either on-premise or on the Indonesian Cloud. This is a crucial aspect to consider when handling the market in Indonesia.
My advice to others looking into using Heavy.AI is that it is a good part of our platform now as a solution.
I think being a partner with Heavy.AI would be beneficial if we can enter the market because the partnership mechanism works well, especially in Indonesia.
I have rated this review a nine out of ten because Heavy.AI must be more agile with many business processes, especially for the Indonesian market, which involves various processes such as BFSI, retail, e-commerce, healthcare, and manufacturing, highlighting the need for agility in providing solutions across these multiple verticals.
