Powerful tool, integrates well, and responsive technical support
Pros and Cons
  • "Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business is a very powerful tool for us. We use a lot of third-party software that integrates well with the solution."
  • "The solution could improve by providing a cloud service that synchronizes with the on-premise console which would give better connectivity in remote areas."

We use Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business for many purposes. We mainly use it for protection against malware. Additionally, we perform a lot of administration for users using the application, device, and web controls.

What is most valuable?

Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business is a very powerful tool for us. We use a lot of third-party software that integrates well with the solution.

The solution could improve by providing a cloud service that synchronizes with the on-premise console which would give better connectivity in remote areas.

In a future release, there should be DLP features added.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have used Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business within the last 12 months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is stable. However, sometimes when we complete a Windows automatic update we receive the Windows blue screen error prompt. The majority of the time it was because the equipment has updated and the update was not the best one.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution has been scalable, we have a lot of different servers.

How are customer service and support?

The technical support is good. We had some difficult problems that were new that took the support some additional time to find a solution. For minor problems, they have been very responsive with their support.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We use many network protection solutions, such as McAfee.

How was the initial setup?

The installation is easy, it can be done with a few clicks of the mouse to install the administration, and from the administrator, you can deploy the solution to the users.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The solution requires a license and there are different license packages depending on the number of users you need.

The solution is primarily used to protect my personal information. I use it for security purposes.

What is most valuable?

The solution has been very easy to use. It's a user-friendly solution.

The product is very stable.

The scalability of the product is good.

What needs improvement?

It would be ideal with the solution offered more documentation.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used the solution for about two or three years at this point. I'm unsure of the exact amount of time.

The solution is stable and the performance is good. It's reliable. There are no bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is scalable. If a company needs to expand it, it can do so.

That said, I only use it for personal use, and therefore haven't really attempted to scale it.

How are customer service and technical support?

I've never had to reach out to technical support. I haven't had any issues. Therefore, I cannot speak to how helpful or responsive their team is if you do run into problems.

How was the initial setup?

The installation is very straightforward and simple. It's not overly difficult to set up. A user shouldn't have any issues with the process.

While I cannot speak to the exact amount of time it took to set up, I recall it being a rather fast process.

What other advice do I have?

I have the solution deployed to my laptop. I only use it for personal purposes, not for business usage.

I'd rate the solution at a nine out of ten. I've been pretty happy with its capabilities.

Scalable and reliable, but needs better intrusion tracing
Pros and Cons
  • "The solution is scalable, we have 500 users using this solution."
  • "We have zero-day detection of malware but it cannot detect other types of unknown intrusions."

What is our primary use case?

We use the solution in our company for security against intrusions. However, we cannot trace the source of the issue without the EDR which we are planning to implement soon. We are able to receive the report from the server and which SNMP traps are from what system but that is all.

What needs improvement?

We have zero-day detection of malware but it cannot detect other types of unknown intrusions.

In an upcoming release, they could improve by providing features, such as EDR and better tracing of intrusion.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using this solution for approximately five years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

We have not had any stability issues and after each new version, the stability gets better.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is scalable, we have 500 users using this solution.

How are customer service and technical support?

I have not contacted technical support but we have vendor support that has been good.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We have used Trend Micro and Symantec previously. We switch to this solution most recently from Symantec because the resource consumption was too high and the reporting was not good.

How was the initial setup?

The installation is straightforward.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We have an annual license and there is a fee per device used. The price is fair compared to the latest EDR solution.

What other advice do I have?

I rate Kaspersky Endpoint Security a seven out of ten.

Provides stable protection for all our systems, file servers and domain controllers
Pros and Cons
  • "The solution provides protection for all our systems, file servers, endpoints and domain controllers."
  • "The application updates and drive encryption are lacking."

What is our primary use case?

We may be using version 13 or 14, although I can't say for certain.

The solution provides protection for all our systems, file servers, endpoints and domain controllers.

What needs improvement?

We are dissatisfied with certain functions, such as those for application updates, which are not usable and don't work.

The application updates and drive encryption are lacking. The former cannot be used or monitored. We would like to be able to use our domain controller for management purposes.

The solution could also be more secure.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using Kaspersky Endpoint Security for three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is not easy to scale.

How are customer service and technical support?

I have not had occasion to make use of technical support.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was easy.

It was over within a day.

What about the implementation team?

A friend of mine handled the installation.

Our technical team for our deployment and maintenance needs consists of nine people, one manager, three administrators and the rest are employees.

What other advice do I have?

There are approximately 300 users in our organization making use of the solution.

I rate Kaspersky Endpoint Security as an eight out of ten.

It's our antivirus software, and we use it for disabling USBs.

What needs improvement?

The performance level could be better.

Enables us to get feedback from our customers
Pros and Cons
  • "I have found the security, device, web and application controls to be the most valuable features."
  • "The application running speed consumes that of RAM, so performance speed is an issue."

What is our primary use case?

We use Kaspersky Endpoint Security to provide support to our customers. The new version and configuration settings are like production components.

How has it helped my organization?

There are many who would consider the performance in some of our systems to be slow, although this depends on the RAM and other features. The solution enables us to get feedback from our customers.

What is most valuable?

I have found the security, device, web, and application controls to be the most valuable features.

So too, the firewall has allowed me to do much troubleshooting.

What needs improvement?

The application running speed consumes that of RAM, so performance speed is an issue. The data, VST, and EST sizes can all be reduced.

Previously, some of the Windows Seven PCs took up more space and ran slowly all the time.

Some of the remote antivirus desktop sharing is not working in version 13, which is still in use.

When we upgrade to network agent version 13, the machine makes a duplicate copy of itself. It is created in another group. Under the same name, we will see two devices, one the original and the other the duplicate. Afterward, we move to the client's PC.

Occasionally troubleshooting is required because the solution does not work after being configured. As an example of this, the running time may be longer when it involves cloud-based SaaS remote installation. At other times, the process cannot be completed and I must remove the task, switch to manual mode or begin a new task.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is stable. It is good and I like it. Before going with it, I was not aware of its capabilities. It removes the element of worry.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is scalable.

How are customer service and technical support?

While the technical support we can supply ranges from installation to troubleshooting, all other issues involved. bugs or updates made to versions would lead us to create a ticket with that of Kaspersky Endpoint Security.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We did not previously use a different solution.

How was the initial setup?

With us, the deployment took the minimum amount of time. But, with some of my clients, it took more than a day.

When it comes to the assistance I can lend the client, I suggest that he make a plan which would allow him to do the maximum amount of remote usage.

What about the implementation team?

We handled the deployment on our own.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

As my role is limited to that of support, I cannot conjecture as to the prices.

What other advice do I have?

The solution is both on-premises and cloud-based. Kate:

Our organization handles things on the partner side, supplying remote support throughout India. All its constituents are in IT positions.

There are many organizations making use of the solution.

When it comes to the implementation of the solution, we provide all the necessary support, from installation to troubleshooting.

I was not aware of Kaspersky Endpoint Solution and its features before entering this field but now am acquainted with its components and protection software. I learned a lot on the software side.

I rate Kaspersky Endpoint Security as an eight out of ten.

Protects all of out devices from cyberattacks
Pros and Cons
  • "This solution is stable."
  • "Reaching their support team can be difficult."

What needs improvement?

Over the years, I have learned that we always need to keep updating our OS — especially Windows. Any application that sits on Windows needs to be updated. This allows us to better detect and remove any infections. Sometimes, there are a few infections that we can't get rid of. In this case, we have to find another way to clean up the registry; otherwise, we have to reinstall everything again.

In terms of the interface, I prefer something that is simple without so much color.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using this solution for the last 10 years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

This solution is stable.

How are customer service and technical support?

Reaching their support team can be difficult. I've dealt with Sophos before; they were quite responsive to our issues.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We are actually going to be switching to Sophos Endpoint Security.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I think the price of this solution is good.

What other advice do I have?

Make sure you are online in order to receive updates. The engine itself doesn't do much without updated data. With updates, you'll be at least 90% protected.

Overall, on a scale from one to ten, I would give this solution a rating of eight.
