What is our primary use case?
I worked in an integrator solution company, and we implemented ManageEngine Vulnerability Manager Plus for different clients/customers.
There were two distinct projects for two different customers, each with unique use cases. The primary usage was focused on endpoint-centric solutions, aiming to remediate all vulnerabilities on endpoints using ManageEngine.
What is most valuable?
The most valuable feature was the patch management, which was very effective for endpoint-centric solutions requiring remediation of vulnerabilities.
ManageEngine Vulnerability Manager Plus was the perfect fit for managing these requirements. We improved the number of scans and patches performed from four times per year per computer to four times per month.
What needs improvement?
The integration with third-party solutions such as ticketing solutions or CMDB solutions can be improved. The asset discovery phase could be simplified if it could integrate with CMDB or MDM solutions.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have used ManageEngine Vulnerability Manager Plus for about a year.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The solution is scalable, managing approximately 3,000 assets, and is a business-grade solution.
How are customer service and support?
I would rate the customer service at seven out of ten. The support is only available in English, which created a language barrier for a non-native English-speaking team.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
Prior to ManageEngine Vulnerability Manager Plus, the customer used another solution that only allowed scanning and patching four times a year per computer.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup was straightforward. That said, it required careful planning, especially regarding integration with Active Directory and deploying the agent to computers.
What about the implementation team?
The deployment involved two admin solution managers for ManageEngine, alongside customer-side admins. The team consisted of three or four members in total.
What was our ROI?
We observed a significant improvement in the frequency of scanning and patching, increasing from four scans per year to four scans per month.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
ManageEngine is considered an affordable solution, offering competitive pricing compared to similar solutions like Utopia, which was more expensive.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
During the evaluation, Utopia was compared with ManageEngine Vulnerability Manager Plus. While Utopia had a virtual patching feature that ManageEngine lacked, the significant price difference did not justify the additional cost.
What other advice do I have?
For the particular use case, I rate ManageEngine Vulnerability Manager Plus ten out of ten.
