If A wants to transfer a file from A location to B location, we provide them a change form where we ask them to fill the required details. After filling the required details, we ask them to raise one ServiceNow ticket. Once a ServiceNow ticket is assigned to us, we start actual working; we create the host first by the server they provided in the change form. After that, we create the task to transfer the files from A to B.

We have two environments here, test and prod, where we create the task and host in the test environment first. Then we check end-to-end file transfer to ensure the file is transferring successfully to the destination. We replicate the same setup on the prod environment, and if there's any scope for testing, we test the file transfer in the prod environment as well.

We use MOVEit's encryption features through an inbuilt script in our organization to encrypt or decrypt files. We also have zip and unzip scripts; if there is a large amount of data or large size of data, we zip that file to reduce its size before transferring it to the destination, and while transferring it, we unzip that through our script.

When it comes to encryption, there are two types, namely PGP encryption and decryption. For encryption, we need a public key, and for decryption, we need a private key.

For MOVEit's user authentication feature, we need permission to access a particular location or folder. If we see any authentication error, it indicates that there is some change in the SSH key or password. If someone changes the password or SSH key and we enter that password incorrectly, we are unable to log into that particular account. In general, for authentication, we use SSH key.

We are from a software organization where we have a US healthcare project. The hospitals use the application for file transfer from one location to another location, transferring banking, financial, and patient data files.

Some files in MOVEit are configured for cloud operations, which a different team handles. As MOVEit team, we receive files and send them to designated locations. MOVEit job configuration includes parameters for sending data to cloud buckets, specifying paths and bucket destinations. When files do not reach particular cloud buckets, tickets are raised, and we check to provide data location information. We then coordinate with the cloud data ops team since we do not have visibility on the cloud side. We can only verify that files have arrived and been sent to the bucket location.

We do not have on-premises deployment because we have a completely US healthcare project, and we are working from India as an offshore team. We provide support from our location, not on-premises.

The best part of MOVEit is that we can schedule any job, specifying the time when jobs should run and when files will come from sources sending files between locations. MOVEit utilizes a shared drive where location-specific folders are created. Users place files in designated folder locations on the shared drive, and when jobs are scheduled, they execute automatically.

MOVEit offers functionality to transform file formats between source and destination. If the destination requires a different file format, we can specify the desired file name, and the script will execute the transformation during transfer.

MOVEit encryption features protect data during transfer. In healthcare environments, financial data and patient insurance information are encrypted before transmission to destination locations where they are decrypted, preventing data loss or unauthorized access.

User authentication in MOVEit allows us to monitor which users are authorized to run specific jobs. This is specified in MOVEit scripts on the host side, and unauthorized users attempting to access data will fail authentication.

The system handles live data through HL7 messages, including daily pharmacy and billing information. Cold feeds come from the integration engine and are processed through MOVEit in batches. Files accumulate throughout the day in the integration engine, which specifies merge times and file naming conventions. The batch is created at a designated time and transferred through MOVEit to its destination.

From the support perspective, the logging system could be improved. When MOVEit jobs fail and vendor support is needed, sometimes vendor contact details are not properly documented. This creates issues and hampers work. Documentation should be more comprehensive to ensure smooth operation of MOVEit applications.

During version upgrades or feature deployments on MOVEit servers, which are handled by the sysadmin team, we encounter difficulties. The server sometimes becomes unresponsive or crashes, causing MOVEit jobs to fail and generating multiple tickets. This becomes particularly challenging because deployments are made directly to production servers without prior testing in test environments.

I have been working with MOVEit application for the last four years in the company.

I previously worked with SRE, an Oracle application product similar to Siebel application. We used it for file transfers, but it had a command-based interface similar to DOS systems. While it was manageable, MOVEit is more user-friendly, allowing operations through mouse clicks compared to the DOS-based system.

A significant advantage is that MOVEit eliminates the need for manual job monitoring and execution. Jobs are scheduled to run automatically based on scripts, with some running daily and others monthly. For example, insurance company billing processes run monthly, generating reports at month-end without manual intervention.

MOVEit Transfer Server receives files from various sources, including integration systems, users, or vendors. Files remain in the transfer server until scheduled jobs process them through MOVEit automation, executing scripts and transferring them to designated locations.

In healthcare environments, files for insurance claims or billing undergo verification before transmission to insurance or financial companies through MOVEit. Physical verification is also performed for clearance.

The alert management system allows configuration based on ministry and priority levels (P1, P2, P3) according to client requirements. Critical data transfers for financial or insurance information receive P2 priority, requiring resolution within two hours. Email alerts notify SDMs or leadership when jobs fail.

MOVEit supports deployment in SFTP and FTP environments.

I recommend other organizations use MOVEit as it provides safe, feasible, and user-friendly operations. Based on four years of experience, new team members can begin working after basic training, as the system is not overly complex.

On a scale of 1-10, I rate MOVEit a 9 out of 10.

I am part of the IT service where our client is the actual owner of the MOVEit service.

The service covers the end-to-end administration of tasks for file transfers and other utilities along with user administration for the tool.

For the last two years, I have been specifically working on MOVEit.

The product, MOVEit, is user friendly for anybody who is starting new in scheduling rather than working with other tools. It is more user friendly and easier to catch on to, even though you are new or trying to switch over to MOVEit. Being on Windows machine makes your life easier.

The file transfer utility of MOVEit is most user friendly and easy to understand. I was not working with MOVEit initially, and during the transition, I had to build my own knowledge because of the migration plan. There aren't many training sessions available on the internet or from the service providers. If training sessions were frequently held by the consultancy, it would probably boost the presence of MOVEit.

The solution lacks a flow view wherein you will not be able to see the integrated jobs in a flow diagram view. This becomes trickier to understand which flow is failing unless you were part of the design team.

Reporting for MOVEit needs a lot more work. For example, if I have to pull a task report for a specific requirement such as its history and task attributes, the report doesn't come in a CSV format, which is consumable. It always comes in a scripted format. When you have to show the report to management, they don't understand the scripted format. They need everything in Excel. The reporting feature needs to work on having it in an Excel format.

It has been pretty stable, but we were hit by malicious malware attacks in the last two years more comparatively. Depending upon the type of license that is owned and the support with the license, it is up to par with other leading marketing tools.

I have been working on MOVEit for the past two years.

I wouldn't be the right person to judge the scalability of MOVEit because I am very new to it, and my functions are limited pertaining to only job scheduling and administration. It wouldn't be fair for me to judge its scalability both on the architecture side and the job administration side.

The support is standard, but clients should have their proper quotations for support. For our client, they had two environment setups: one is on-premises and the other is on cloud. For the cloud environment, they had taken only 16x5 support, but for the on-premises, they had taken 24x7 support. It is a standard process that they follow in terms of addressing the reported issues, and they are not lagging in any aspect when compared to other tools.

I would rate technical support for MOVEit at eight on a scale of one to ten.

Before MOVEit, I was working with Control-M, Autosys, and Tidel Workload Scheduler.

The architecture team handled that portion.

We tried to integrate MOVEit with ServiceNow, but since there was a third-party tool required, we could not proceed with the option. However, we did leverage the utility of mail notification to get the ServiceNow ticket created for task failures.

The architecture team did the configuration and they usually handle this part of the environment.

We used the MOVEit encryption feature along with both signing the encrypted file as well as the plain encryption of the source file. If the standards are followed, it does hold up its standard of encryption.

In the project that I worked for, we had integrated MOVEit with multifactor authentication along with the access with AD.

It is more user friendly, easier to catch on to, even though you are new or trying to switch over to MOVEit. Being on a Windows machine makes your life easier.

I would rate it at seven for the impact of MOVEit's automation and scheduling features on operational efficiency overall. The exposure to end users is less when compared to other marketing tools in terms of training or usage. I have around 16 years of experience working on scheduling on a distributed platform, and I was not aware until my last interaction with MOVEit that it is actually a feasible tool to use when specifically looking out for file transfer utilities.

I would rate MOVEit at eight out of ten.

I am discussing the on-premises version, and we manage both on-premises and SaaS implementations. I have integrated MOVEit's user authentication feature. We are using our own authentication, which means we integrated our corporate authentication with MOVEit. It is trust-based and supports SAML-based authentication, which is effective.

I do not see any challenges with user authentication's effect on our data security. We integrated it through SAML-based authentication, and it is straightforward with no challenges regarding how it integrates with third-party tools.

MOVEit's automation and scheduling features are good, and they are easy to configure workflows. If you can provide me with some pointers regarding what benchmarking you want to evaluate, then I can share more details about the impact on my organization.

It is good, but considering the AI era, I think they can come up with advanced reporting features rather than the custom, rule-based reporting that a user can generate. I would expect the reporting capabilities of MOVEit to be more simplified to help me maintain compliance.

In terms of deployment, it is Windows-based since it is developed in .NET. It only supports the Windows-based platform. In the current era, deploying and managing in Windows is still not developer-friendly. Most people want to do this in an automated way, or at least it needs to support Linux or Unix or some other operating system besides Windows.

This is the room for improvement because it only works with Windows, but I would like to see it working with Linux and other operating systems.

It is close to a decade that we have been working with MOVEit.

I have communicated with their technical support, and they are responsive.

In general, if you have all the prerequisites ready in the infrastructure, one person should be sufficient to complete the implementation within an average organization.

I was personally involved in the implementation of MOVEit.

MOVEit's pricing is a little high. If you are running on-premises, it should be acceptable, but if you move to cloud or SaaS, it is substantial. Regarding pricing and licensing cost, I am not overall satisfied.

I have worked on MOVEit for around five years.

MOVEit is specially designed for file transfers, making it very user-friendly to transfer files to multiple platforms in an easy manner with flexible scheduling features. It has secure transfer protocols and procedures which support GDPR and HIPAA.

MOVEit covers a wide range of usages in organizations, security standards, DR backup features, and can connect to various protocols such as SMB, SMTP, SFTP, HTTPS, HTTP, and SharePoint with specific limitations. In automation, IP restrictions and limited access for business teams to monitor their specific file transfer jobs can be configured.

MOVEit offers a dashboard for business teams to track file transfers without needing tech team assistance, reflecting specific tagged jobs in Active Directory for restricted viewing. MOVEit is a strong tool for financial or insurance sectors, but for large-volume data, it may not be the best choice.

MOVEit consists of multiple tools, with MOVEit Transfer and Automation being distinct components with different useful features. In Transfer, user access and file encryption are very secure. There is a DLP feature where data loss prevention terms and conditions can be restricted, ensuring no unauthorized data transmission.

When files are placed in the transfer server, they are completely encrypted, and even administrators with access to the storage service cannot identify files due to different IDs. It is a well-developed, secure SFTP server storage server where both internal and external users can access. IP control allows restriction of user access from specific IPs to reduce unauthorized usage.

Security protocols include account locking for wrong passwords, restrictions on multi-logins, and file type controls for uploads and downloads. Report generation is available for these activities. File sharing features exist through specific links, though SFTP transfers are recommended for enhanced security.

MOVEit Automation enables scheduling of file operations, including file picking, format management, and destination placement. File renaming functions, new file selection, post-transfer file removal, and conditional transfers can be configured. Specific conditions can be defined within MOVEit Automation in a single configuration, with hardcoding options in XML following vendor templates.

The solution features Key Vault for storing keys, facilitating easy monitoring and renewal when necessary, supporting PGP and SSH keys. It can connect to cloud buckets from platforms such as GCP, S3, or Azure blob storages, and provides user-friendly error codes for troubleshooting. While MOVEit can handle large file transfers, server capacity must be adequate for stable operations.

The scheduling features need improvement as currently there are standard scheduling possibilities that could be enhanced with more options and features, such as automatically creating checksum files. Improving SharePoint connectivity usage, which has limitations, would open up considerable usage and enhance MOVEit significantly.

We can use the product to transfer files. I work for a bank. The files we transfer have PGP encryption by default. The data we send or receive is encrypted, ensuring that there is no data breach.

It is very easy to configure the setup. MOVEit is a reliable tool. I have not seen as many issues with it as in Globalscape. The tool’s GUI is very simple. I can do anything from the web. I need not log in to the desktop version.

The automation capabilities are brilliant. We can create and add any kind of schedule. We can create schedules and have them run on a specific day. For example, we can run the schedule on the third and fourth business days or the first seven business days. We can run schedules for every 10, 15, or 20 minutes.

When we pick a file, the tool creates a temporary directory in the MOVEit server. When the file is sent to the destination, it does not store the file inside the system. The moment the files get picked up, the tool delivers them. We did not face many challenges while integrating the tool into our environment. It is a really good product. Even if we face any issues, we can easily resolve them because the errors we see are self-explanatory.

The product must improve its security features. Recently, there have been multiple attacks on the solution. It has ruined the reputation of clients who use the solution. The vendor must ensure that there are no cyber attacks on the transfer server. If hundreds of tasks run on MOVEit simultaneously, the system hangs.

We are using the solution currently.

We have around 300 to 400 users in our organization. We have many trading partners to whom we send data. We have nearly 10,000 tasks running across three different servers.

The support is not that great. The support persons are very slow. We are frustrated with the service they provide.

The setup is easy compared to any other tool I have worked with. It is very simple.

We are planning to switch to JSCAPE soon. JSCAPE’s configuration is quite similar to MOVEit. The code we export is in XML. We can use the same code to import the job in JSCAPE. MOVEit is very fast compared to Globalscape. We need to save data internally in Globalscape.

Whether the path is on the cloud or an internal one, we must save the file and then move it to the destination. In MOVEit, everything is done automatically. The architecture is really good. MOVEit is far better than Globalscape.

Anyone who wants to use an MFT tool can use MOVEit. The support must be improved, though. If someone opts for platinum or gold-level support, the support persons must be able to respond to them within the appropriate time. The versions and enhancements created by the vendor are good.

The vendor keeps learning and updating their software frequently. We are able to connect with different cloud software providers, like Azure, AWS, and Google, with the new versions. We can get the connections based on the access and secret keys. Such functionalities are very good for the end users.

Overall, I rate the product an eight and a half out of ten.

We use MOVEit to upload our software for our clients to download.

The most valuable feature of MOVEit is the upload speed.

It's simple to use in creating folders, and if I need to copy or move something, it's very quick. 

It's fairly simple for me to place specific files in three or four different locations.

Whereas with my other tools, I had to go to separate locations to upload, with this, I can stay where I am and then copy over or move.

I know the only thing I don't know about MOVEit is that we don't use it to its full potential. My business unit, our business unit, is a small one. We only use it to upload software to clients both externally and internally so they can download it.

I am not familiar with many of the features it offers, and neither are many of the administrators. We were not really trained on it. We were given this tool and left to figure it out, and that is what we did. 

I am not sure if there is a feature where you can hide the software instead of having to delete it, because sometimes I need to put out a release and if I want to do it the day before, I could hide it and then just flip a switch and turn it on. That's something I used to be able to do with my previous solution. That was the only thing I couldn't hide the software because I couldn't figure out how to and no one else could either.

I spoke with the two admins who were dealing with it, and they, too, couldn't figure out where to hide it. 

If I put something out there and put it out there too soon and a client sees it, I have to quickly go in and delete it and then re-upload it instead of having a feature that lets me just check this box and hide it, that would be a good thing to have.

It would be beneficial to include a feature that allows you to hide items and not be locked out if someone has made too many password attempts.

I have been working with MOVEit for approximately two or three years.

I have not had any issues with the stability of this solution.

I know that when my other and I used C3, it was either always down or finicky.

This one occasionally hangs, but it's a network issue. It usually responds quickly. If I am locked out, it is usually because another user attempted too many times and locked us out. But you wait 15 minutes.

That could be a feature that we need to figure out, where if one person has too many attempts others are locked out. That's another feature that is not good and needs improvement. It is possible that there are settings on the backend that I am not aware of because I don't deal with them on the server side.

For example, rather than having a password per user, it's a whole system and if somebody gets knocked out for entering the wrong password, everybody' gets locked out for the next 15 minutes.

We have our own separate passwords, but for some reason, if they try too many times the entire system is connected and it doesn't allow anyone to connect. Everyone is locked out for 15 minutes, or they will go in and reset it or reboot it.

It serves its purpose for what I use it for. I haven't used it for anything else.

I have heard it can be used for FTP, but I don't do much FTP. I suppose what I do is considered FTP, but I'm not sure if there are any other features or enhancements that it can do. I'm not sure. I do think it's a great product.

It's a great product for what it does. It's speedy and I haven't had any issues with it.

We have approximately 700 external users in our organization. I delegate authority to external clients. Then there are internal clients, as I work primarily in software management. 

We have our document team who uploads the tech docs, and then I am not sure if it is used by business analysts or product managers, There or no developers who have access, or maybe one or two that I can recall.

I have never contacted technical support.

I used to use C3, which was a terrible product. It would take me 10 minutes to upload a fairly large file. MOVEit uploads a single file that used to take 15 minutes to upload in two minutes if that.

I enjoy the upload speed of MOVEit.

I didn't choose to use MOVEit. It was chosen for us by our company. I was kind of stuck with using it.

At first, I thought, this isn't going to be the best tool, but once I started using it and uploading, I was pleasantly surprised by the speed and other features.

The initial setup was straightforward. We were able to do it ourselves.

I thought it was. You go in and it's like a directory structure, just like a file structure, and you can add and delete folders once you add the folder, and then you can search on it. It's similar to Windows Explorer, but it's web-based.

It did not take long to deploy, only 15 minutes.

When compared to other products I've used, I believe MoveIt is worth the money someone might pay to use it.

I would recommend this solution over others that I would use. 

We had a coworker to who I recommended it. 

It's quite simple. 

It's pretty self-explanatory once you have logged in. 

Simply navigate to the files and folders and proceed from there. 

There was a little tutorial they gave us that I shared with them. It was pretty simple. It was just a little training. I am not sure where it came from or who created it, but it was the basics.

Nobody here has said that it is overly complicated or that they can't figure it out on their own. 

I've never had anyone who couldn't find their way or asked me to help them use it. 

It's easy to navigate through. Try it out; it's pretty self-explanatory. 

Now, C3, we had to have some training on because it was a little complicated, but this one, it's kind of self-explanatory because it looks like a file or a Windows Explorer. If you are an administrator, things are a little different.

I would rate MOVEit an eight out of ten. It's user-friendly, self-explanatory, and does exactly what we need it to. 

I like the upload speed, which is exactly what I require, and everyone else does as well. And then there's the download speed. According to what I've heard, the clients are much happier than they were with the previous solution.

We use this solution for our motion planning for robots. The organizations that I work with are involved with robotic manipulators where the robot is required to follow a specific path of motion. We are customers of MOVEit.

The solution has a couple of nice features. Top of the list would be the huge collection of different path planning algorithms that are great and state of the art. If something isn't working very well, you can choose a different algorithm. Usually, robotic guidance takes a lot of time and effort to build, but MOVEit allows you the flexibility to switch between different algorithms and figure out which one works best for you. It's also easy to model a new robot. If a hobbyist has made a robot from scratch and wants to assimilate and see how it will perform, traditional modeling software like SolidWorks and others do not have a good path for planning algorithms supported by them. MOVEit is a very good tool for modeling a new robot from scratch.

Using MOVEit takes time to learn and to understand how it functions. I have a background in robotics, so I have some knowledge and hands-on use and training. Unless you have really good training and guidance, you won't be able to learn it. Even our lead software engineers who have years of experience and understand the architecture, find it very cumbersome to use. I think that's where there's a lot of scope for improvement. It could be more user-friendly.

I struggled in areas where I needed multiple robot path planning where multiple robots are involved. It's very, very hard for multiple robots to work and collaborate together. I would want to see more features and more advances in the area of multi-robot motion planning.

I've been using this solution for three years. 

MOVEit is very stable compared to a lot of other ROS packages.

This is open-source software. The code and software are hosted on GitHub. If there is any problem with MOVEit, I can make a pull request on GitHub and whoever manages MOVEit generally replies within a day.

MOVEit needs to be used along with a framework called ROS, Robot Operating System. Understanding ROS is a must and deployment requires significant knowledge of that. Primarily, it's built for Linux, not for Windows or other operating systems so it requires someone who is good at using Linux, understands Linux distribution, and is able to install and set up an ROS. With all that, it's simple to implement MOVEit. With my experience, I can set it up on a computer in 20 minutes.

There are several other solutions also in this arena including Tesseract and tkArt.  Both those solutions are for motion planning. Tesseract has a more advanced algorithm in comparison to MOVEit and it has more features. However, it's a difficult product to understand and use, and they don't have good documentation. If you're looking for high-end advanced research purposes, Tessaract and MOVEit are both good, but I think MOVEit is the best of the three.

If you're new to robotics, I would suggest evaluating whether your application needs MOVEit at all because of the very steep learning curve required to use it. If you decide to go ahead, start learning the basic building blocks of how ROS works and take a look at the MOVEit tutorial page. If a simple algorithm is required, I'd recommend writing your own. 

There are no serious competitors and MOVEit has worked out well for me despite lacking some features so I rate the solution eight out of 10.

We primarily used MOVEit for task-based file transfer. We would configure it using server details and file patterns, schedule transfers, and then monitor the results.

The automation is generally very simple that helps with operational efficiency. Since we mainly created interfaces and scheduled transfers, the tool itself handled the file transfer automation. With a good DevOps team, there's definitely potential for further automation.

Its greatest strength is the ease of use. Compared to other online file transfer tools, it has a lot of convenient features and a user-friendly interface.

In my experience, I found it user-friendly and didn't encounter any major issues.

In future releases, MOVEit could add support for some additional protocols. For example, I don't think they supported the SFTP or FTPS protocols at the time. 

I used it for a year. 

It is a stable product. It didn't break down and remained a stable product for my use cases. 

Besides our project, MOVEit was used by another two or three project teams within the organization.

I didn't need to contact the support because I was actually part of the development team, so I was involved in developing the interfaces. 

However, there were times when the support team needed to be contacted for certain issues – some unusual problems that would crop up.

During my time on the project, our support team was happy with the MOVEit product.

MOVEit is a web-based tool, so it shouldn't be very difficult to install. I found it easy to install and use.

Whether MOVEit is the right choice depends on the specific file transfer requirements. There are multiple tools out there, each with its own features. It's important to choose the tool that best suits your particular needs.

Moreover, it's relatively easy to learn; it is not overly difficult.

Overall, I would rate the solution a seven out of ten. It's easy to use and very user-friendly. It is easy to pick up. Any user, even those new to the tool, can quickly understand the basic features. The logging and monitoring within the tool are also well designed. But, every tool has room for improvement, which is why I wouldn't give it a perfect score.

MOVEit is a GUI-based and very fast and reliable tool. The log findings and troubleshooting on MOVEit are pretty easy. When you go to the logs, it clearly tells you what time a transfer happened, what time it failed, what is the source path, what is the destination path, and what is the failure reason. It's pretty straightforward. If it's an authentication error, it tells you that. If the failure was because the password was incorrect, it gives you those details in the error logs.

When you download a file, it doesn't save anywhere on the local server. It creates a temporary file in the backend. MOVEit is architected in a manner where it downloads the file and immediately sends the file to the destination. So, you won't be able to reprocess the file from MOVEit itself. If you want to resend the file in case the transfer failed in between, you have to ask the source team to send the file again. So, there is a good thing and a bad thing about it. The good thing is that you don't have to worry about the disk space on the server on which you are hosting it. The bad thing is you have to go to the source team to ask to send the file again. 

If the transfers are more or the file size is big, it takes more time. It doesn't have much capacity to process multiple files at the same time. It can get stuck or take a lot of time to process the files. If the file size is in GBs or TBs, the data processing should be very fast. I want that kind of architecture and robustness. Currently, if the onboard N number of users, the server or the system automatically slows down because hundreds and thousands of files are flowing at the same time. If one user is uploading 1,000 files at the same time, it will automatically interfere with the other users which are using it at the same time. So, scalability and robustness should be there in this tool. That is one thing I'm expecting in the future in MOVEit. 

Similarly, when I want to open logs, it takes quite a long time. The way it works in the backend is that when you search a query with a file name, it goes to the backend and searches that file name in the database. Its speed is very slow. It's not that fast. It takes a couple of minutes to search those fields and get the results for a query.

I've worked with MOVEit for more than a year.

It's stable.

It's a scalable solution. I don't know the exact number of its users, but we created 200 to 300 accounts. One service account was given to one type of application, and they were uploading the file using that service account, but we don't know how many users were using that service account.

We didn't contact them. We did not face any issues where we have to reach out to them or create support tickets for MOVEit.

These many tools I have worked with. I have used IBM Sterling Integrator, Sterling File Gateway, and Connect:Direct. I've worked with GoAnywhere and Globalscape. Apart from those, I've worked on GSX BizLink and also BizManager.

MOVEit and Globalscape are similar products. In one of the projects I worked on, the client decommissioned the on-premises solutions they had. They decommissioned Sterling File Gateway and MOVEit and started using Globalscape on the cloud platform. We onboarded the interfaces that they were already running on those two on-premises solutions to the cloud environment in Globalscape. Cost-cutting was a reason why the organization was moving from MOVEit to Globalscape. When we were doing that migration, we found that a couple of things were easier in MOVEit than in Globalscape. For example, I want to download different files from the same folder. I have a folder named inbound, and I want to pull the files with certain name patterns. In one rule itself, I can add all the file patterns, which is not the case in Globalscape. I have to create a different rule for pulling up each and every file, which becomes a tedious job. 

Its deployment was already done when I joined this project, but it's straightforward. It's a Windows installation, but you have a server on the cloud. It could be the AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud. You just have to mention the directory where it will be installed and click next, next, and next, and then the setup is done. It's not that difficult. It can be deployed on-premises or on the cloud.

For managing MOVEit applications, less than 10 people were there. They were also taking care of the production issues and creating the setups in the SIT, UAT, and production environments.

There is definitely an ROI. It's a great product. You would definitely get double or three-times benefit out of it. It's a one-time solution, and it's also scalable.

It's cost-effective.

I'd definitely recommend it. It's a really good tool, and it's also very cost-effective compared to other MFT products. For managed file transfers, it's a really good tool.

Companies in the healthcare domain usually prefer such products for reliability and processing the file within one minute. For example, I upload the file to some folder and as the file is available on the source path, a job gets triggered and it's immediately sent to the destination. The reason why it's so fast is that it doesn't basically store the file on the server or in the cloud environment. MOVEit immediately sends the file to the destination and the speed of the execution is very fast. However, if you have multiple files and if the file size is too big, then it takes more time.

Overall, I'd rate MOVEit an eight of ten.
