Easy to set up with good data integration and data virtualization

What is our primary use case?



Our customers primarily use the solution in the education industry.



How has it helped my organization?



With other products, the enterprise customer has to do the data analysis in their business department. With this product, they get all the data; it's good quality and refreshed frequently so the customer is able to pull more valuable insights for their business. 



What is most valuable?



The solution's most valuable aspects are its data integration and data virtualization.



What needs improvement?



We developed the solution based on Hadoop, but using Hadoop as a relationship database, it's hard to maintain and recruit developers. There needs to be better integrations with other solutions and there need to be more tools (including virtualization tools) and utilities between this solution and Hadoop.

For example, Oracle has a product called Big Data SQL and it built a bridge between Hadoop and Oracle's database to make things easier for developers.

The solution needs to be more stable.



For how long have I used the solution?



I've been using the solution for three years.



What do I think about the stability of the solution?



We've had some issues with stability.



What do I think about the scalability of the solution?



The scalability is okay.



How are customer service and technical support?



We've previously contacted technical support, which was okay. We're satisfied with the amount of service we've received.

We didn't previously use a different solution.

The initial setup was easy. However, some open source technologies were not compatible with each other, and we had to refine them to make them work better together.

Open source, with a good initial setup but needs better deduplication

What is our primary use case?



We primarily use the solution for publishing to the user.



What is most valuable?



The solution's most valuable aspect is the fact that it is open source.



What needs improvement?



The downloading process should be improved.

The solution needs to improve the functionality of the auto-deduplication. 

We should be able to automatically archive, and right now we can't.



For how long have I used the solution?



I've been using the solution for five years.



What do I think about the stability of the solution?



The stability of the solution continues to get better every day.



What do I think about the scalability of the solution?



The solution is scalable. Right now, we have over 60 users.



How are customer service and technical support?



Technical support requires us to log a call, and it takes time, as they are not on-site.



How was the initial setup?



The initial setup was straightforward.



What about the implementation team?



We had a consultant help us with the implementation.



What other advice do I have?



We use the on-premises deployment model. We're a telecom company.

It's a very good solution, but in Nigeria, they lack the ability to respond to issues in a timely manner. I think this is a regional problem.

I'd rate the solution seven out of ten.
