What is our primary use case?
I have worked for about 15 years as a technical consultant and five years as a functional consultant in my current field.
Oracle E-Business Suite Service Contracts benefits my organization and brings a positive impact, especially in supply chain and HCM. It is particularly powerful for supply chain operations, allowing us to add or customize features needed for pharmaceutical manufacturing, processing, or distribution. The ability to customize any feature is straightforward and beneficial.
I am currently working with Oracle E-Business Suite Service Contracts.
What is most valuable?
The best features of Oracle E-Business Suite Service Contracts are its customization capabilities and extensive technical features. We can easily integrate with any third parties through APIs, business events, concurrent requests, and database links. Integration and customization are straightforward, whereas Fusion requires many tools and incurs a high cost for similar integration capabilities.
Oracle E-Business Suite Service Contracts provides significant benefits to our organization, particularly in supply chain and HCM. The system's power lies in its ability to customize features needed for pharmaceutical manufacturing, processing, and distribution.
What needs improvement?
The main area for improvement in Oracle E-Business Suite Service Contracts relates to pricing. In Egypt, most companies continue working with E-Business due to the high cost of alternatives. While Gulf countries are moving to Fusion due to their stronger financial position, Egyptian companies find the licensing costs challenging.
The only significant room for improvement is the pricing structure, particularly concerning licensing costs for Egyptian customers.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been working with Oracle E-Business Suite Service Contracts for about 15 years.
How are customer service and support?
Oracle support is excellent, and we have many skilled resources in Egypt who can fulfill all our requirements.
How would you rate customer service and support?
How was the initial setup?
There are no challenges or complexities when installing Oracle E-Business Suite Service Contracts as it is quite simple. At Eva Pharma, one of the major pharmaceutical companies in Egypt, we successfully elevated Oracle E-Business from on-premises to cloud. The process was straightforward and powerful, extending beyond Oracle to include firewalls, VPNs, and Active Directory, as OCI is very robust.
What about the implementation team?
The installation is handled by a comprehensive team of technical staff, functional experts, DBAs, and cloud engineering professionals.
At Eva Pharma, we had a team of about ten people, though I have since resigned from my position there.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The pricing structure is important when evaluating flexible pricing for managing service contracts. Integration with Fusion requires purchasing OIC, which costs per message and data size according to the API and retrieved data. In contrast, E-Business allows the use of APIs through Apex, which is free, including implementation.
There are no additional costs as Apex is free and can integrate with E-Business very easily.
What other advice do I have?
I am not familiar with the automated contract renewal feature.
For real-time reporting for contract execution, we utilize Power BI. While Oracle Concurrent Program and Apex can perform this function, they are not as powerful as Power BI.
There was a plan to use Oracle's analytics for contract performance insights, but we opted not to proceed as our company is purchasing the full Microsoft 365 license, which includes Power BI.
I do not have experience with managing complex service agreements with multiple assets.
I rate Oracle E-Business Suite Service Contracts a seven out of ten because while it has excellent features and is straightforward for customization and integration, the UI and UX remain poor, creating challenges for users working with the application.
Oracle Fusion offers a more user-friendly UI, whereas Oracle E-Business Suite Service Contracts has a more complex interface.
