| Information Technology Department at Sunflag Iron and Steel Co Ltd | 3.5 | We rely on SAP for core business functions since 2001, migrating to S/4HANA Finance. It's stable, but the interface is complex, and SAP team communication needs improving. Though costly and essential, I rate it 6/10. |

I am currently working with SAP S/4HANA Finance twenty twenty three. I am mostly working with SAP S/4HANA Finance, which is the finance model. I have been working with SAP S/4HANA Finance for around eight to nine years.
I use SAP S/4HANA Finance for functionalities and theory-based apps. The processing is very easy compared to the finance module, and the background table section and technicalities have been changed, which is helpful for extracting reports and is faster than the system, especially in our transactions. They have introduced a lot of financial changes which help the business grow, including many improvements especially in the FSC models and financial supplementing management models, such as credit management, collection, and digital commodity.
We purchased it through a partner. SAP S/4HANA Finance integrates with all external and internal products. SAP S/4HANA Finance helps me automate many tasks, reducing manual work significantly.
I am satisfied with analytics and reporting to a certain level, but not completely. There are so many SAP providers and customer solutions to include manual warning reports. SAP S/4HANA also will not provide the detailed reports as users expect, but the system provides the ability to implement new reports. It does not reach that level completely. Around fifty to sixty percent of the system will solve business needs, but not entirely.
In the reports area, especially in the customer reports area, there is a lot of room for improvement. It would be better to improve and also meet local requirements and localization. That needs to be addressed.
I have been working with SAP S/4HANA Finance for around eight to nine years.
SAP S/4HANA Finance has a very strong structure, especially in finance and logistics. It helps our business in a smoother way with fewer bugs in the product. I can say it is a very stable product. For the stability of SAP S/4HANA Finance, I can rate it almost nine.
For scalability, I can say it's nine. It's good.
My experience with technical support from SAP is not that great. I cannot say much positive about it.
Neutral
My experience with competitors for SAP S/4HANA Finance includes Dynamics from Microsoft and NetSuite. We evaluated them before moving to test SAP S/4HANA Finance, and I think it's a more stable product compared to them, especially for the money.
It's not that complicated, but we still need specialized skills for setting up SAP S/4HANA Finance. I can say it's quite costly, but not complicated.
SAP S/4HANA Finance has to be set up with a specialist only. It's not something that everyone can do.
The price for the product is very high. Compared to our other products, we see it's almost similar to other ERPs. The pricing could definitely be more flexible for end users regarding price and model.
Currently, we are using SAP S/4HANA Finance and we are with the server. We moved from Business One because of the volume of data and transaction data. With Business One, we learned that for bigger automation or bigger time issues, we needed to move to a more robust solution. SAP S/4HANA Finance definitely helps the business get real-time data instead of having a scheduled job chart with time lag in data. This is important when I need to access real-time data.
I find SAP S/4HANA Finance user-friendly with many apps available for all financial transactions, which is very helpful with a good UI, making it easier for the business to handle when compared to GA. It's quite quick with advanced functionalities. We have been using ML as well on cash applications for bank statement processing. Every data is processed automatically. We are using additional solutions from SAP such as Ariba. I am into finance and have high-level knowledge of Ariba, but I do not have the technical depth in that product. SAP S/4HANA Finance is deployed totally on-premises. My overall rating for this product is nine out of ten.

There is a central system that includes the main capabilities like finance, sales, purchase, and inventory, which means that if you are not a vertical company with a vertical sector, you might use the core functionalities in SAP S/4HANA Finance. If you are a company with specific needs in terms of a vertical solution, we can also activate modules such as manufacturing, retail, and others.
SAP S/4HANA Finance is for complex companies that need more capabilities on the standard modules such as sales, purchasing, inventory, and finance. Companies that have a bigger dimension and bigger volume of data opt for SAP S/4HANA Finance.
The biggest benefit of SAP S/4HANA Finance is the stability of the solution, which brings the knowledge from SAP ECC systems. It is also a standard solution for a multi-company organization because we can configure different companies in the solution and its standard multi-company transactions.
SAP S/4HANA Finance is a centralized data storage and data warehouse in which all users can access the same data in a centralized way and it brings information to every department on a real-time basis.
It allows users to predict the needs of a customer or the needs of their own company in terms of purchasing because it is powered with AI, giving users more information about trends and what they should be doing regarding the history of transactions in SAP S/4HANA Finance.
Strategic planning in SAP S/4HANA Finance is very complex, which means we can have strategic planning for sales, finance, and budget. We can bring many plans and forecasts for different areas and incorporate them inside the system, so they will be present in all transactions and all processes of the company.
The solution is very complete in terms of what people require and ask in SAP S/4HANA Finance. In terms of functionality, I am not aware of a lot of improvements.
I have used SAP S/4HANA Finance for one year.
SAP S/4HANA Finance is very scalable. There is an app store behind the solution where we can integrate more solutions and more applications that are being developed by partners.
I would rate support for SAP S/4HANA Finance at an eight out of ten.
Positive
Implementation can be complex in SAP S/4HANA Finance, depending on the company and its requirements. SAP S/4HANA Finance is trying to create a policy of fit to standard, in which companies are asked to accept the solution as it is, which makes the implementation process faster. However, we are always talking about between six to twelve months for implementation.
There is definitely a return on investment because all the automation capabilities and AI capabilities of the solution will reduce many of the tasks of users in SAP S/4HANA Finance, allowing them to do different things for the benefit of the company. The return on investment will be fast with SAP S/4HANA Finance.
The price is high, but the companies are different, as it is for different companies. I think it is affordable for the kind of companies that we aim SAP S/4HANA Finance at.
Integration is very straightforward because it also has a layer of integration in SAP S/4HANA Finance called SAP Integration Suite that we can manage and use to create all integrations with different systems outside of the system.
SAP S/4HANA Finance has a workflow engine that can help automate tasks and schedule tasks that will trigger with different events. This will help a lot with the automatic execution of tasks.
The biggest challenge is the capability of adapting to the standard solution. My overall rating for this product is nine out of ten.

I conducted research on your website to make some comparisons for our client who were looking for options. I reviewed your tool along with Power BI, QlikView, and Snowflake. Our organization works mostly with Microsoft products, particularly Office 365, SAP, and Salesforce. I deal with all the modules in SAP S_4HANA Finance, including MM, SD, FICO, and QM.
We use real-time data processing in SAP S_4HANA Finance, and it helps us significantly.
The implementation of SAP S_4HANA Finance has helped our operations by reducing manpower considerably. We are able to achieve things very quickly, and all data entry is completed on time, allowing us to close the month and complete the MIS in the third or fourth week at maximum.
The impact of automating tasks on my finance team's productivity is significant. Instead of focusing solely on data entry, the resources are now well experienced and can move into other roles including analytics. They are better utilized rather than performing monotonous data entry work, and data entry has been reduced by half, allowing them to take on different roles and upskill.
I definitely see room for improvement in SAP S_4HANA Finance for the future, as our client is looking for enhancements.
Specifically, I would like to see improvements in SAP S_4HANA Finance's AI capabilities. For example, a local system called Tally in India has incorporated AI effectively by automating tasks such as reading documents and posting automatically. SAP currently does not have these capabilities, so we need to rely on other AI tools to accomplish these functions.
In the future, I would like to see SAP bring more AI into SAP S_4HANA Finance and reduce considerable data entry. SAP is moving into Fiori, and we need to start leveraging that to provide exact feedback.
I would rate the technical support by SAP as a nine out of ten. They are effective at handling high-ticket items and typically respond in less than four hours, providing us with assistance when needed.
I have not utilized the predictive insights feature, but we have performed a lot of automation with the help of AI, including automating invoice posting with OCR and bank statements. Wherever it is possible, we automate processes.
We have just started using advanced analytics, and our client may return after some time. Since they have just started using SAP S_4HANA Finance, they are keen to leverage all functionalities that can help, including advanced analytics. Our client has a plan for next year, 2027.
We have conducted extensive integration with automation, including our invoice to the government portal for VAT and GST, which we need to automate further. We have also integrated with Salesforce.
Improvements in SAP S_4HANA Finance include numerous features such as cash application and predictive maintenance, which currently provide significant insights, including whether we are above or below budget and how it is moving every month. I give this product an overall rating of ten out of ten.
We utilize SAP for inventory, production management, quality management, and finances through seven models, including the HR model. The finance side features may not be fully known to me as I come from IT, but I do know that we are using the finance model.
To clarify the extent of our usage, I do not know all the details. We have been generating reports and creating some from other agencies, but we primarily use it in a limited setting and find it satisfactory. We have integrations with various systems, including government tax systems, and our experience over the years has been beneficial. We cannot run our business without this software.
We are using certain applications, including Intercept X software application in mobile for two-way authentication in VPN connection, along with other products such as SAP ERP and Google Cloud for email. We are now shifting to SAP S/4HANA Finance, and this process is ongoing since we have been implementing SAP since 2001.
Regarding SAP S/4HANA Finance, the migration process is underway, and we have not yet fully migrated but within two or three months, we will be migrating to SAP S/4HANA Finance. Currently, we are using SAP 6.0 and almost seven modules. We have implemented our finance model in SAP since the implementation began.
Regarding potential improvements for SAP, making the interface simpler could benefit users since it currently has many fields which complicate training on tasks such as creating production orders. Communication between users and SAP team can also be improved, as it often is not as effective as it should be, which complicates understanding and learning the software.
We have been implementing SAP since 2001.
SAP system is scalable and stable, although I lack detailed knowledge about Oracle Finance or any other financial products.
Communication between users and SAP team can also be improved, as it often is not as effective as it should be, which complicates understanding and learning the software.
Neutral
Installation is comparatively easier now than it was before.
Regarding pricing, I consider the solution to be somewhat costly. However, given that there are few alternatives and we have been using SAP since 2001, we are accustomed to this product, and our users are used to it, which unfortunately leads to increasing prices.
We do have automation implemented but not to a hundred percent extent. We are continuously trying to improve automation based on user requirements. However, I do not have enough knowledge of SAP S/4HANA Finance to suggest improvements in such a substantial software system.
I cannot provide extensive feedback on the finance model due to my limited knowledge. If I were to rate it, I would consider it good. I would give this review an overall rating of six out of ten.
