Unit4 Business World Reviews

We have been using Unit4 Business World on-premises with 10 different research institutes for Finance, HR, Procurement, and Projects. This Unit4 product is no longer supported by Unit4. It is replaced by Unit4 cloud ERP CR and Unit4 SaaS ERP X.

We try not to do customization, but we do configuration. The configuration is extremely flexible. There are also many options for integrations.

Unit4 has a broader suite of ERP products that are fully integrated with the core ERP in the cloud. These include Unit4 FP&A for budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, but we are not using this product. We have integrated Unit4 ERP with the PowerBI gateway to enhance dashboards and to do further analysis.

As part of the Unit4 suite of products, they also have HCM for Talent management and employee engagement, and training management. The third product in the suite is Source to Contract, previously known as ScanMarket.

As global organisations the ERP is accessible to all our offices, regardless of their location. This ensures that the same policies and processes are followed throughout the organisation.

The Unit4 ERP product is very flexible and can be configured to fit most business processes. There are also many options for integration, especially when used on-premises.

Unit4 ERP7 will not be improved as it is no longer supported by Unit4. The cloud ERP CR and ERP X do have clear roadmaps available to customers. Many of the gaps have been filled by the ERP suite of products. New improvements will include AI agents to automate finance and HR processes.

We have been using Unit4 ERP, also known as Agresso or Unit4 Business World since 2012.

We manage the hosting of the ERP in AWS, and it is very stable.

We host the ERP on-premises product in our AWS cloud. This means the infrastructure can be easily expanded to scale.

There has been a big improvement in customer service in recent years. Technical support for on-premise customers was limited, so we prefer to use official partners for all support apart from bugs that need fixing.

Our previous solutions were from a long time ago and are probably not on the market. We have been using Unit4 Business World for nearly 15 years, so anything before that us not relevant anymore.

We have conducted evaluations of other products and know there are definitely products with improved capabilities. However, the cost and the cost to migrate to a new product would be excessive for a nonprofit organisation at this time..

My team installs and updates on-premise ERP which is relatively easy to do. But this version is obsolete and not available to new customers. All new customers will use SaaS or Cloud solutions. These are updated every 6 months.

For the original implementation, 13 years ago we used consultants from Unit4. We now use Unit4 elite partners for support and consultancy.

Pricing is reasonable after negotiation. Consultants and partners are mainly located in Europe and North America. We struggled to get consultants to work in Africa, Asia and South America for our setup and further developement.

If you are a new customer, you should look at Unit4 SaaS ERPX, which is where Unit4 is focusing most of its development. It has been designed and optimized for the cloud and is more affordable than some of the well-known ERP products. The focus is on the professional services, nonprofit, higher education, and local government sectors. I would rate the product a 7 out of 10.

We use the tool in finance, HR, and procurement. 

Unit4 Business World's most valuable feature is flexibility. Its dashboards are easy. 

I would like to see direct communication support to engage with clients. The parent company should have a direct relationship with clients. Also, the tool's licensing, upgrade, and maintenance costs should be reduced. 

I have been using the product since 2010. 

I haven't faced any downtime while using the solution. 

I rate the solution's scalability a nine out of ten. 

Unit4 Business World's deployment is of medium complexity.

We are happy with the product and plan to upgrade and implement additional modules. I rate it an eight out of ten. 

We use the solution for end-to-end business processes like HR, finance, project management, budgeting, reporting, and procurement.

Our reporting was a big mess. We wanted to bring everything under one roof because we had a fragmented business application landscape. We had a manual Excel-based system. Bringing all these processes on a single integrated platform was key. It was a real deal break in decision-making.

The solution helped us to send reports to donors and management. It helps with budget monitoring and planning. Such high-level objectives have been well achieved. It also helps with project tracking, monitoring, and evaluation. The reports can be tracked from the system. The planning and forecasting feature is getting better.

The product's self-service capabilities have benefited our organization. We've integrated everything with our technology landscape, such as single sign-on and Azure AD. It's within our cybersecurity framework. It comes within the self-service aspect. We need to do monthly timesheets. It has had a huge positive impact on the people working on projects.

Reporting and analytics features must be improved.

I have been using the solution since 2021.

The tool’s stability is good. I rate the stability an eight to nine out of ten. We've not had downtime. It’s a SaaS solution. It is running on the Microsoft environment. We get high availability.

We are a non-profit organization. We have 300 to 350 users. We've never had performance issues with the system. I rate the scalability an eight or nine out of ten. We have analysts who take care of the functional things. We have the IT team that takes care of the SSO integration. The HR team uses the HR modules to manage the roles based on the functions.

We have clear SLAs for support and escalation. We contact the support team if we need to configure or develop an enhancement. It's part of the learning curve. The technical support is improving.

During the pandemic, people could work remotely for almost one and a half years without issues. The learning curve is good. It has been a positive operation.

The vendor has a product called FP&A. It's a better product for reporting, planning, and forecasting. We can see the roadmap. We are still evaluating it to leverage aspects like Power BI for analytics. Overall, I rate the product an eight out of ten.

We use this solution to process batches.

The administration is quite good.

It makes it easy to process.

There are several areas of this solution that could be improved. For example, it could be available as a web-based solution. It could also be more interactive.

Some of the functions could be improved and included such as the business intelligence and the dashboard.

From the demo that we have reviewed, these improvements have been made in the newest version. There have been many improvements made.

I would like to see more flexibility in the customization for us to be able to customize it based on the client's requirements.

I have been using Unit4 Business World for ten years.

We are using an older version but planning to upgrade to the latest version.

Unit4 Business World is a reliable product. We are working with it and have not had any issues with the stability of this solution.

The financial features are the most valuable because we did not have good financial software and our organization was been growing.

It has improved the financial functions and the project control.

We did not previously use a different solution.

Initial setup was very complex. It required six months to define the implementation. The following year it was necessary to refine the implementation and to complete some functionalities.

Well, the commercial section is the worst in this company (0/10), al menos in our case. In the beginning, the pricing was fine, but when we need new functionalities or legal adaptations, it has been a fight to get a deal.

Before choosing this product, we also evaluated SAP and Microsoft Dynamics.

It is necessary to fit very well the accorded conditions. In our case, the initial conditions changed, in service support, licensing, etc. Some modules changed and it has been necessary to pay again for a functionality that we already had. The commercial section did not treat us well.

At least in Spain, it is a risk not to have different providers that implement the solution; we are tied to only one provider (the same that develops the product). When the relationship with them is not good, there aren't other alternatives. Changing the solution is very expensive, in money and time, but we always have it in mind.

Each Agresso module is created to be integrated with all the other Agresso modules, this also ensures that one solution can be used across the entire company.
Overall it is a good software for "not so much sophisticated" business.
