We use vSphere vSAN separately and with VxRail, the Dell-provided VxRail, along with Dell automation capabilities, and the performance is excellent, handling workloads better than direct-attached or legacy storage solutions.
VMware vSAN is highly scalable, integrating well with existing VMware environments. It reduces infrastructure complexity and costs by eliminating traditional storage needs. While it offers encryption, performance, and deduplication, better hardware integration, modern disk support, and enhanced lifecycle management are needed. Potential buyers should consider significant licensing costs and high resource consumption challenges. Improvements in documentation could streamline setup and expansion processes.
